Hello birthday boy! How could you lie low and be quiet on your birthday? You have become a Blog Celebrity since 2008! You are more famous than Caitlyn Jenner who just appeared last month. Muahahahaha
ReplyDeleteLol with that Caitlyn Jenner thing hahaha.. I think you're wrong TM.. his more famous than Obama muahahaha
DeleteTM, I guess very difficult to keep it quiet, because after few times visit his blog, then can remember it already and it's pretty easy to remember...Hmm, should I change mine blog title to my birthday also ya?? So like that even I didn't say anything, people always got noticed, wahahaha......
DeleteYa lor..we all oldntimer here sure can remember your birthday la sk. Some more its written in your blog and most of the photos leh.
DeleteU wanna run also cannot run jor
A smart boy again as you are, I didn't pay attention to belated happy birthday and happy belated birthday. Your England is so damn powderful to spot this common error. The two meanings are really different.
ReplyDeleteIt is more appropriate to wish someone whose mother had birth delivery complications and took some 72 hours to deliver her new born. That is when we should say ... Happy belated birthday...
My English given back to teacher liao.now left is broken english. Lol...now sk makes me ponder which ine is correct but as usual la..sk versions is the correct one
DeleteChoi!,, complications during birth. .dont la...manyak soey one la. Damnit...i sakit 2 days already scared like hell liao...no way......
Someone gave you a cupcake with a matching Doraemon doll. So cute dei.
ReplyDeleteSorry Anay was too poor to buy you a gift. Sales for my cow dungs have been slow in Chennai so I could only post a yellow Minions birthday wish in my blog. Hope you were happy with my thoughts and the heart warming wishes from all your blogger friends.
As you know, even Nick kinda surprised me to be the first to wish you at midnight! This food Prince hardly or almost never comment in my blogs but still appeared to wish you. I sure kenas TOTO jackpot this weekend la.
oh was that a cupcake... at first glance I thought it was a small round case hehe.. so cute
DeleteYour cowdung sales not bad la. At least you have the heart to brave the midvalley traffic and parking and fight with thousands of minions fans to snap that very photo to wish sk leh. Gua boh lat lot to do that. Scared of the crowd there. You really sk punya blood brother la
DeleteAha, wish you already in the last 15 minutes of your day. The Doraemon cupcake is so pretty - someone celebrated your birthday for you with it? Can't wait to read what you did the whole day on your special day.
ReplyDeleteHe should have told us what he did on his birthday in this blog post but nothing came out. I guess he wore his birthday suit and paraded around his bedroom before having party outside all day. Should ask him show photos.
DeleteI agree, the cupcake is nice, I even wonder is it edible cause looks so special, hehe!
DeleteMuhahahaha wear burthday suit parade around al...all the lenglui eyes will pop out jor to see his 6 packs
DeleteHappy birthday SK...yay! you are one year older... how old are you again??? nevermind.,.. like they said.. age is just a number!!
ReplyDeleteSK is shy to tell you. So Anay would like to announce that Thambee is 29 years old this year but his heart is still at 19 years old. Please don't ask him again lah. Wakakakaka
DeleteLol....sk already told his age in old post la. He where got shy one. If shy then will not dig up old photos ler and let us see.
DeleteMost importantly is young at heart. Wishing SK forever young at heart for all his birthdays
I think I would like to do it on my FB too however.. since I am a loner guy ,... I could possibly get at least 3-5% of friends to greet me and most of them are my relatives LOL
ReplyDeleteYou are one unique blogger. Hope you don't mind sharing the reason you keep so many blogs and how do you maintain them all?
DeleteHappy Birthday to you in advance too!
Blue, i think u may have more well wishers than you have anicipated as you have quite a lot of followers
DeleteI think i got that kind of Doreamon toy before.. but with copter ... but hey where are the minions? hehe
ReplyDeleteThe cake maker probably didn't have the Minions template yet! Muahahaha
DeleteI have that doreamon toy too. have got minions ah..just finished collecting mcD minions sets. Blerkkkk now i hope not to be eating anymore more happy meals for the next couples of monhs...phobia chasing he minion toys weekly
DeleteAgree with SK, the whole process completes, this is the trend now, once I said to a friend hey you remember my birthday ah? Then he or she said no lah, I saw the notification on Facebook, haha, so pathetic right?
ReplyDeleteWhen few close friends didn;t wish us in Facebook after knowing it, one could feel sad and think nonsense! This happens often.
DeleteNowadays with notification, we don't have to force ourselves to remember friend's birthdays... Haha xD
DeleteAgree with TM
DeleteNowadays birthday not much significance to me anymore, if one is happy and healthy, everyday can be your birthday, right?
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I agree 100% Everyday is my birthday too!
DeleteHappy Birthday to Libby everyday.
True Libby, totally agree. Since we have our birthdays every year, so got wishes or not also never mind.
DeleteHappy birthday to TM everyday too, hee hee.
DeleteI'm like you too.. Previously I had this birthday setting in FB, but have disabled it many years ago.. I don't want people flooding my wall with wishes, some as short as HB.. Err, HB !! Puh-leese..And I don't want people feel obligated to wish me.. Same with me, when I see birthday notifications of my friends, macam guilty pulak never wish them..
ReplyDeleteOk ok, enuff about FB and all.. It's about SK, so let's talk about SK and the topic today.. When I was a kid, birthdays meant a lot to me.. Looking forward, even beg and pleaded my mum to host one for me.. Those days, parties would be in McD or KFC (McD most of the time), then invite friends over, they give presents, and we open on the spot.. Nice... Then there's a big cream cake, blow candles..
DeleteThen when I was 16, my mum catered birthday party at home.. Invite friends over,, Same thing.. Just that the food was not McD, haha.. Catered food like fried rice, bihun, sandwuches, fried stuffs, everyone loved it..
DeleteBut now, after married with kids, errr, birthday is just going out for dinner.. No presents.. Only wishes from family and close friends.. Enuff already.. I hope when I'm older, my kids will celebrate birthday and Mother's Day with me :)
DeleteYep, I saw the Doraemon cupcakes in Meow's blog.. Very sweet of her.. So have you walloped all the cupcakes? I would usually order cupcakes with fresh cream, coz if fondant hor, it would be too sweet to eat.. Most people will just take out the fondant, and eat the cake, which is wasteful la.. But for decorative purposes, I agree fondant is nicer to use la..
DeleteThat cupcake is from Meow. Indeed, very sweet of you. The doraemon cupcake is very lovely.
DeleteBirthdays are so much more fun when we were younger, right? Can organize parties, then will receive lots of presents/ang paos from people around us. Then as we grow older, it's like not that exciting anymore, may be because we are more matured, and we want something else rather than just presents. For me for instance, me and my family health are more important, I want these as presents instead.
DeleteDear SK, I would not wish you "Belated Happy Birthday". I have sent you my greetings in advance. I like this post so much, as I finally know someone think alike me on this birthday greetings/reminders thingy. Muack!
ReplyDeleteLast year too, I turned off my birthday reminder. Just to see how many remember without any reminder.
Actually I dislike this type of reminder. In fact, I do not like to type my birthday greetings to someone because of that reminder too. I will purposely ignore those reminders.
I have this kind of thinking when I saw one of my friends who purposely set 1 of January as his birthday. He actually an old classmate of me. I know his birthday is in June. I saw so many people were reminded on 1 January and wished him on that day. I was laughing to myself. How could his birthday on 1 January? I still remember his horoscope is Cancer. See! How silly it is for those people to wish him on 1 January.
Since that day on wards, I told myself, only true friend who is really care about you would remember your birthday without reminder.
To me, no present is fine, a simple greetings through SMS would touch my heart.
As for me, if every day is happy, every day is Valentine's day and my birthday. I just want my husband to buy me cake and my girls to sing me Happy Birthday song. But, my girls sure will make me cards. That's all for my birthday. This year was a bit different only. We celebrated in MTV Karaoke.
DeleteSK, this year you no took leave to go feasting on birthday meals from dawn till dusk. The doraemon cupcake is so lovely. This must be your most favorite birthday gift from your blogger friends.
DeleteSK, you certainly do not need to set any reminder. Your loyal readers who visit your blog everyday will remember SK0617 for life. Kekekeke!
A year older and a year wiser, this is certainly right. I can see SK is getting wiser and wiser. lol! To be honest, I enjoy my life so much now compare to when I was young. Now, I worry less, I hate less, I angry less, I laugh more, I enjoy more and I care more.
DeleteI know what is important to me and what I really want in my life now. I live everyday to its fullest. Therefore, I only pray for more wisdom, good health and happiness every year on my birthday. I wish you are blessed with good health, wisdom and happiness too, SK.
When I was a kid, i got to blow candles on my birthday cake. That's all my parent were affordable to buy for me on my birthday. No present actually. For my girls now, I also would buy them birthday cake and take them out for special mean. That's it.
DeleteI have only two daughters. I have trained them to remember my birthday, their dad's birthday and their sibling's birthday. My girls will fork out their own pocket money to buy each other gift. I think this practice is good. I want them to learn to celebrate birthday for each other.
Yannie sound so enlightened now and takes life happier with open mind & hearts. That is very good and she has become a wonderful mommy too for teaching the kids to remember all the birthdays which are happy occasions. Positive mind will bring abundance of goodness.
DeleteI also turned off the my birthday notification on Facelook for similar reasons. I know most who wished me only did so because they were reminded by Facelook and they probably are not looking forward to hearing back from me, but if I do not "Like" their wish, then it seems rude. So better to just save everyone the hassle.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I also do not wish anyone Happy Birthday on Facelook, even if the reminder pops up. I never remember anyone's birthday anyway (heck, I don't even remember mine, so..), and I think there would be some who turned off notification as well, and then I would end up wishing some and missing out some. To be fair to all my friends, I just don't wish anyone at all.
Those social media birthday reminder that make people obligate to write birthday greetings, and then the owner returns with a LIKE, actually meaningless. Those people who turn off the reminder is actually very wise. Kekeke! I started to be wiser last year. Not too late!
DeleteI have long ago turned off my FB notifications because I was shy. I think I should turn it on and arouse all the attentions from my monkey school mates again. Muahahahaha
DeleteLife is so short, let's laugh it off.
Happy Birthday SK... The cupcake is so cute, hehe...
ReplyDeleteI surely won't forget your birthday as I was reminded by looking at your blog. Glad I wished you a minute after the clocked struck twelve. Hope you had a wonderful birthday. If only I could meet you in person, there is surely a gift for you.
ReplyDeleteOf course my clock didn't strike twelve at all. I was whatsapping away. Anyway, hope you have a lovely series of celebration.
DeleteSK had a blast with his Bollywood gangs but he didn;t invite Anay! Sulking away now! Sobs!
DeleteI personally don't like to remind people of my birthday. I don't show it at my facebook profile too. But sometimes I posted pictures and my people guessed it. Anyway, it's nice to receive genuine birthday wishes.
ReplyDeleteBirthdays and funerals are both our dates of arrival and departures. I think it is a natural process of human's journey which worth to take note unless one is shy about it.
DeleteIn Thailand, people send invitations out for birthdays and even funerals.
Not only are you good in mathematics, your English pun very excellent! I have always taken for granted that Happy Belated Birthday was the thing to say until I read this post. Memang betul it should be Belated Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteFor me right now, my birthday is not significant lah. Don't feel anything pun but of course it is lovely to get birthday greetings. My mum never fails to send me a card and to wish me Happy Birthday from both she and my dad.
DeleteMy brothers pulak, haiyah, those two boys ah! Never remember hee..hee...but it is OK. This tai kah cheh don't mind it one bit. But I do remember their birthdays.
DeleteIt was different when I was a kid. Birthday was like so exciting because waiting to get birthday presents. I was not keen on birthday party because I was a quiet kid, very shy. Only had one birthday party and my grandparents invited the neighborhood kids.
DeleteReceiving genuine birthday wishes rather than those due to FB reminder is more meaningful. I mean, if someone knows when is your birthday and really cares about it, they will sure remember and send you wishes. I always feel that those prompted by FB reminders could be more of obligation. Of course not all because there are friends who genuinely care to wish you but somehow they honestly forgot.
DeleteBut you know, there are some people who like to remind or hint to people their birthday. I used to know one person like that, always dropping hints and hoping to receive birthday cards and gifts. That one I feel is lebih-lebih.
DeletePerhaps as we get older and older, birthdays will become meaningful again? I mean as we count the years - 50, 60, 70, 80 and wonder how many more? And those who love us will see it as a blessing that we are with them for another year and hope for many more to come. I would like to see my parents have many, many more birthdays to come.
DeleteBut having said what I have said about my attitude towards my own birthday, I think my 50th birthday will be a milestone lah. Officially can rubber stamp as auntie liao (of course lah now already auntie, but 50th is the perasmian) and I want my partner to take me for a nice celebration hee..hee...
DeleteThen 55th birthday lagi meaningful because I can queue up at the fast lane at the bank and at some restaurants can get 50% off buffet! Naik pangkat some more "Warga Emas". Chewah!
DeleteOk, since you don't want us to wish you belated birthday anymore, then I won't do it... :p
ReplyDeleteBut I already wish you happy birthday yesterday at TM's blog, your best friend's blog, since he dedicated a post to wish you... Hope you see it.
Yes, I also feel weird why there's no post on 17th June on SK's blog, I remember you did it all this while.. True la, what's the point right? I mean it's your blog you can do whatever you want la, we all respect...
Oh so you turned off the notification on FB. I didn't turn them off, cause I love to see those wishes on my wall, wahaha xD But ho, some friends ar, very 'lazy' one, just type HB. I mean I know I appreciate the effort to come and wish me, and I know what it means, but since you are typing already why not just type it properly? Nowadays got spelling assistant on phones ma, once you type 'hap...' then the word happy will come out already, just click. Anyway, just saying la. At the end, it's the thoughts that counts la.
belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
ReplyDeleteActually I do remember your birthday(that's why I did prepare gift for you) but I fell asleep that day, so forgot to wish you...paiseh, paiseh.....(gift will be on the way, haven't send yet, hope I can get it done this week, so you may get it next week *finger crossed*)
DeletePost it yesterday, hope you may get it next week ya!! Remember to inform....hehe!! Thanks!! =]
Delete點都好,始終都要同你講一聲 :生日快樂。
ReplyDeleteEh I so shy lah. I always wish people Happy Belated Birthday and not Belated Happy Birthday. Now only I know my mistake. Thank you for pointing that out to us SK.
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday to you!! I only knew about it when I saw Mamarazi's post. hahaha.... Well, why suddenly become so low profile after been high profile for so many years ? muahahahah....
ReplyDeleteI was kinda surprise when I read your post. Anything bothering you? You seems kinda down in the way you write it or maybe I am just anyhow kay poh and anyhow guess.
Anyway, hope you have a great time yesterday!
Yeah, I was wondering how come I didn't notice your birthday on Facebook after I read mamarazi's post. I remember I did wish you last year ...hahahha... Ok la, it's up to individual whether one likes to publish his/her birthday or other personal details on social network. Some folks love it when droves of friends wishing him or her non-stop on their birthday and I am one of them. hahaha.. Bo bian, I am a bit hao lian at times..hehehehe...
ReplyDeleteSo, how you celebrate your birthday ? It's a weekday, did you take leave ? I guess its ok to take a day off for birthdays , though my company gives us off-day as a token of appreciation. Even if there's no off-day, I will still take leave to celebrate with my family, where it could be a simple celebration.
ReplyDeleteAiya.... unless there's a pressing issue, work can wait la but birthday is once a year, just pamper ourselves la.
Btw, most of the malls and cafes do gave special treats to birthday boys and girls. I had a complimentary cake from some cafes in JB. Even Giordano and some retailers gave discounts to birthday folks. Just show your ic and there you go, some special treatment for you.
ReplyDeleteYeah , I do agree with you that with all the social platforms and smart phones, its easier to remember birthdays. This also makes me wonder do we really care about other people's birthday since we are 'reminded' of their special day. Just a click or write Happy Birthday on FB will do. The other party will appreciate it but is it because people are doing it and you have to do it too?
ReplyDeleteOf course it's not easy to remember all your friends' birthdays but at least remember those that's close to you.
Having said that on the above, it may not be a bad thing to depends on gadgets and social platform to remember birthdays. Just take it as a diary or notifications as due to our hectic schedules , sometimes we may forget it due to certain reasons. That may saved some troubles especially for dating couples. Well, I am saying its an excuse to blame it on work but sometimes, it can served us well.
ReplyDeleteIt's also doesn't mean depending on the gadgets shows that you don't have the 'heart'. To me, I always remember my loved ones birthdays and plan in advance to celebrate it. But sometimes there could some unforeseen circumstances that happened in work which takes your focus away.
See.. I forgot that 0617 is actually your birthday .. muahahahha... OK la, when your come to SG, just let me know. I buy you a meal la... hehehe... Maybe I needed to note down 0617 in my phone... muahhhhahaha...
ReplyDeletehmmm... can also buy 0617 since it's weekend already. who knows it come out first prize...!!
Like you, I also changed my setting in my FB, my birthday date, I mean... So last year I did not have many wishes too... Hahaaaa... Lets leave it that way...
ReplyDeleteBut when fb announced so and so birthdays, I will drop a wish on their timeline. :) i vertainly cannot remember all, just a few selected friends and family members...
ReplyDeletehappy belated birthday~
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday SK! ^^
ReplyDelete你和我老公的生日只差一天,他是18/6, 嘻嘻 :P
ReplyDelete虽然你说不用但礼多人不怪嘛,Belated Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday to you
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to you
happy birthday to you..you are born in da zooo.. lol...joking la...sorry lah me late come here to wish you
Cham i got to run and hide liao. So long time read your blig and i tak perasan that yearly you announce birthday on that day itself.
ReplyDeleteAnnounce or not but now Facebook will give reminder liao. Some more your blog name is reminder enough jor...hahaha
20% birthday wishes also good enoughla. There is a saying that goes it is not the number of friends that you have but the number of real friends...err...something like that la....gua punya saying also kantoi punya.
ReplyDeleteWei..this year tarak makan besar ka? I remember last year you makan from morning to night wor
ReplyDeleteeh...ur bday? hepi belated bday, SK!
ReplyDeletewhere is the huge cake? I wanna count how many candles on that cake...kihkihkih!!!
