當然, 之後嘅數據計算, 位置排名, 統計上載, 金榜呈現全部都係自動化嘅.. 以下為第二個介面, 我可以好輕鬆咁㩒三兩個button就做晒全部嘢, 之後大家就可以即刻於專屬網頁睇到最新留言榜喇!! of course moving forward from this, all things like the computation of statistics, chart ranking, uploading to database and presentation display are automated.. this is the next screen that does everything for me, i just easily click a few buttons and then everyone can see the updated chart from the webpage right away!!  |

| so, this is the actual process *revealed* how your comments are processed for the chart.. that is why it is only "almost real-time" as there is still manual work required.. BTW i'll be traveling (for business and personal) from 28/4 till 5/5, new posts as usual but do expect delays in the monthly comment chart.. good also, probably create some "kancheong-ness" in you for not instantly knowing your ranking until the chart is finalized, that is back to the basic model we used to have, muahahaha!! :D |

I admit if me ahh, same day post and same day comment, ok la, will read.. But if suddenly people comment on a very old post, I think I won’t knoe about it, coz yahoo mail wont notify me leh, automatically all masuk spam, takkan I check the spam mail one by one kan..

yeah, i think i am also slowly losing the mojo to write blog leh but i tell myself, cannot cannot, this is my 10th year of blogging, at least i must hang on until the 10th anniversary next year, so keep blogging and when i bagged the 10th anniversary baru decide to retire or not, muahahahaha!!

ReplyDeleteI don't think you need to worry about assuring us that you do read our comments lah. With you monthly chart going, most people would still comment non stop even if you don't reply frequently. Although I must say that your statistic and database tool is most impressive!

DeleteSure la, everyone deserves a break once a while. I also wish I can go for a holiday now, only problem is I can't. But I hope I can at least have some ME time after my confinement, like a day to the hair saloon, followed by manicure/pedicure, then to a massage center, not exactly the type of 'holiday' I want but at least to relax the body and mind~~
my last vacation was Hokkaido in July 2014 so really almost a year already leh.. I guess that time you conceived too, right?? now baby also anytime coming to this world.. vacation for you?? I think two more years to go?? haha.. :)

DeleteThat's what I thought lah, the relevance of the comments is manually determined. You have to read to decide and this can't be automated.

DeleteThat's why I have been giving my salutes and pat on Thambee's head over the years for all the tedious manual jobs to maintain a lovely and innovative blog like this one. The lazy me is so malas to even design my own banner and even ignorant to use the free template layouts that come with the blog. I think SK should organise a Blogger's Boot Camp workshop to coach and guide me to a successful blogging like his way. Oh My Thambeeeeee!!!
Deleteyalah, though probably the relevance thingy can be programmed but that would be rather a huge project, tedious and probably may not be 100% accurate.. so getting it done manually would be a better option..
DeleteDon't worry too much about not replying the comments because we all understand that you have other things to do and not 100% full time focus on thr blog. Replying comments takes up a lot of time and need to be in the right mood too.

DeleteOh PH, I sometimes like that also, especially when I type too fast, wanna type 'a' but ter-type 's' and etc, sometimes even geram is I only realize the mistake after I type a long sentence, so have to go back and delete and re-type. Sometimes I know people can understand the word (though there's an alphabet which is wrong) but I don't like to send that message like that, I prefer the whole thing to be precise (erm is it consider a type of OCD? xDD).
Anyway, typing English still ok, typing Mandarin lagi lah mafan and tedious!
yah sometimes i wonder if it is really necessary to reply since i do not know how many will actually come back to check for the replies.. everyone moves on, right?? but i would have to say, it's being polite to reply to all comments lah~~ :p
Deleteyeah.. it's like 30 minutes in the train from my place to office and then another 30 minutes back home, better make full use of the time while commuting.. i also have the same problem with my fat fingers on the tiny keypad lah, but then i guess practice make perfect, hahahaha~~ :D
I thought of that before too SK. I mean how many reader will bother to come back and check the owner's reply? But like you said, it's a manner to reply, or perhaps a rules in the blogging world?

yeah, I think not many will actually come back to check for the comment replies lah.. unless very free got nothing to do la, but I think it's a good manner for the blog owner to reply :)
DeleteYour comment chart statistic is very impressive. I used to wonder how you did all that. But you know this auntie, very blur on these things so even if you explained to me, I probably have a hard time understanding the process. So let SK do what he does best and don't be so kay poh.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree that the chart statistic is the BEST I have ever seen on earth. No one had ever done so detailed like his that rise up down like Bursa Saham. Gives me tension and sweats each time to see the Chef Diva tossing more self raising flour and yeast to rise. Muahahahahahaha **evil laughs**

ReplyDeleteI agree with what you wrote, my priority is also first write a post on my blog (unless if I don't have any topics to blog), then read all the comments, then go blog hop, lastly replying comments in my blog.
Oh that relevance to the topics thingy, I realize the higher the score the better, and I actually click to see other people score too, you did wrote different comment for different scores, good good, at least we know how relevant we are, or to what extend did we disgress from the actual topic. Anyway, sometimes cannot help but to say irrelevant stuff also, kekeke!
Oh my, manual works are needed ya? I don't like manual works, remember I used to do quite a lot of manual works when I was working last time.. Very time consuming. I think nobody likes la! Luckily as time pass by, we have technology and ideas which can help us create automated system, can finish the works faster, boss happy, we also relief, haha!
Anyway you are very hardworking and pay effort to your blog lo, since you willing to spend time and effort to do those manual works (whether it's a lot or little).

I guess the relevance part could not be automated unless you can write your brain into AI here. I tried to follow your formula to get the efficiency score but failed. If I have time, I will write to you on how I tried to get the efficiency score but did not come up the same as yours. I do know how much relevance score you gave based on the difference between the score I got now and the score I got previously. Enjoy your work or personal trip for the long weekend and have fun!
ReplyDeleteyes, I think I am one very dedicated blogger because I am also a perfectionist, I think, I want things to go as perfect as they could, muahahaha!! and those comment charts thingy, probably none other than myself are doing it huh?? wow, you actually follow that documents!! I am impressed!! but I think it will be more complicated because the document just outlines the basic concepts.. there are actually more things in the program itself, but you won't get far.. :)

I am sure it do takes you some time to maintain the chart though you automated most of it but still as you said, there are some manual work in reading the comments. Gosh ..100 over comments... must take you a while to finish reading all!
And, doing it on the mobile devices is not so convenient. I always got typo error due to the smaller and touch screens.
hehe, there will be a little bit of deductions if you have too many short and not topic related comments, so not necessarily means the more number of comments you left, you will get higher scores.. it all drills down to relevace to the topic.. don't talk rubbish!! haha..

DeleteHowever, business trips usually not that nice as you don't have much time to go around. In fact, I feel it is more stressful! Once you landed and reach the destination, you gotta get ready for work the next day and prepare whatever you needed. Not that fun la.... but if can, once you are done with your work, try to spare some time to jalan-jalan.
ReplyDeleteerr actually it depends on what type of activity you are going to have, and whether if there is expectation from your boss.. agree?? it may be fun or it may be stress, anyway, also depend on how handle the situation lor.. :)

DeleteBack to the chart, I was wondering if you download a plugin and modify it or do it all from scratch ? Most of my developers' in my company likes to re-engineer a program or plugin downloaded from the Internet and modify it to get it going. After all, most of the stuffs are open-sourced and it's free to use. It's just taking the efforts to find out and re-create it.

DeleteYeah, I also pre-write my posts sometimes as I really don't have the time to write new posts daily.However, some of my posts are 'fresh' too, where I wrote it instantly and post. It depends ..... sometimes when I had the inspiration, I will quickly write the draft and post it else it will be hilang from my memory.
ReplyDeleteI have more time during weekends,thus can write a 2-3 posts at one time. However, lately I was kinda lazy to blog so I leave it to the late nights like now to create a new post or comment on other blogs.
I now prefer to write beforehand bcos I always have the "auspicious time" to publish my posts, so to me it's like I have deadlines.. unlike other bloggers who just post whenever they like.. so better for me to pre-write and see them published on time.. :)

If I dont write a post daily, I feel like something is not done yet... funny, isn't it.. but now I make Saturday a rest day for reanaclaire.com.. hahaha..

As for me, I didn't go anywhere, except staying home, watching movie, cooking meals, going to gym, and spending time with the kids and husband.
DeleteNo problem I still feel contented and happy doing those things that i like on my holiday.
i guess i am a perfectionist, i do not like things to be done half way but i must make them complete, and after i completed them, i want to make them better.. hahaha!! well, it's nice also to spend time with your family, not necessarily need to go anywhere lah :)
