2014.03.11 | 蠟燭事件

[Volume 9 Issue 3, #1869]
nope, it's not my birthday and definitely i don't need so many candles lah!! though i don't mind reminding you again that my birthday is on.. errr, shy to tell so explicitly, just look at the name of this blog and you'd know, haha!! okay, it's a story about candles.. one day i went to buy a cake for a friend and this was the conversation between me and the server at the counter of the cake shop:
server: how many candles, sir??
me: errmm, 50, five-zero..
server: for your daddy?? (with a big smile)
me: nope boy, uncle is buying this for a friend.. (with an even bigger smile)
so what is in your mind after reading our conversation?? i understand the young man was trying to be friendly due to his job, but then i don't look like i have a dad who is less than 15 years older than me right?? i think his dad was probably 50, so he blurted out that guess?? so blur-ly cute, and that was why i addressed myself as "uncle" in front of him just to joke, haha~~ :D

    1. Fifty candles on the cake??? Why put so many??? I thought usually we put five big candle only, because like put all fifty...the. Once you pull out the candles then will be all holes on it lo...the cake not nice anymore lo!!! Hehe

    2. good morning...sk is not only perfectionist but also unpredictable LOL.

i wonder how it feels like if really put 50 candles...sempat light all before the 1st candle melted

      Delete
    3. Now people don't put long candles liao lor.. If me, I like to put the number 5 and number 0.. Lagi best.. Cute and trendy somemore.. Just need to put "2" things only, instead of "5" things (5 long candles)..

      Delete
    4. Maybe if really want to light up 50 candles, should have 5 people, each person light up 10 candles, so the first one won't melt that fast!!!

I thought female after 21...always request only one candle...don't want to show the actual age mah...hahaha!!!

      Delete
    5. 小影, good morning...now adays we used only one candle. enough lar... or probably is a alasan not to review their age.

      Delete
    6. Ya the number 5 and O also good idea. But like very sayang wor coz will only let it burn a bit only. Cheap la those candles. Onloy about 50 sens each

      Delete
    7. Good Morning Angeline!!! Yah la...we girls know about it only....guys won't never understand one...

Cannot put 5 O that will show age already..if like that I choose to put 5 only, hahaha!!!

      Delete
    8. Ya, put 5 candles also understood.

      Delete
    9. If put the numbers, so we need to invest a collection of number candles from #1-9 already....

      Delete
    10. Nowadays we can just ask them to write the number on the cake. Like 'Happy 20th birthday' and just put a candle will do. We don't need to worry about those wax dripping on the cake.

      Delete
    11. though i have really thought of putting the exact number of candles (and not simplified by a big candles representing 10) many times for friends, but i guess it's not viable lah, as what you ladies have been commenting above, haha!!

anyway, to stress again.. whenever you did not see my SK0617 logo and URL watermark, but some other URL of the source of the photo, that means it is not my photo but just a random one i grabbed from the internet for "illustration purpose" only :)

      Delete
    12. I think is maybe because first time see so many candles on a cake, that's why must "give some comments" to it mah!!!

      Delete
    13. LOL...later have to put like McD "For illustration purpose only" but SK, you have to put big big ah coz me old cat already...eyes cannot see tiny font. Later i will compare why my birthday cake not as big as in the photo geh...me tunpang hint hint here April my birthday coming la. but no need 50 candles that many....but you can request for 99 candles la....

      Delete
    14. 小影, on your 50th birthday, put in a request to your family to give you 50 candles!! :D

hahaha, "for illustration purpose" only doesn't seem to be quite correct also hor?? aiyah, just put the credit to the website where i grab the photo enough lah..

      Delete
    15. Huh? After 21, I always request just put one candle only, cannot show people how old am I mah!!!

      Delete
    16. haha, now you are still in your 20s maybe you care about telling your age lah.. but when you are a 50 or 60 years old auntie in the future, you don't care at all already.. that's when you can request to see more candles!! :D

      Delete
  2. It'd be one 'holey' cake when the candles are unplugged. :O

Nah, kidding.. Just buy a #6 and a #2 enuff lor.. Can easily get them from any bakeries.. Nicer to look at and more convenient also..

Imagine if it's an ice cream cake.. You need to be fast in lighting up the candles, sing song and blow candles.. Takkan really "chap" 62 candles meh..

      Delete
    5. 62 candles? Wonder can it fit on the cake or not??? Maybe put in two cakes, each 31!!! Can??? Or that's something pantang mentioned cannot do like that???

My boys punyer birthday is this coming April.. Kenzie boy's birthday is 19th April.. Baby's birthday is 10th April.. I thought of buying only ONE cake, then "chap" all the candles into that ONE cake..

Got people do like that mou? Yep, call me kiamsap or jakun mum..

      Where?

Oohh, if it's do-able, then I'll just do like that lor.. Coz takkan I buy two cakes meh, kan? Somemore Kenzie and baby G punyer birthday same month.. So I will just buy one cake and kaotim all sekaligus...

Now thinking what cake to buy.. It will be a very simple celebration nia.. Home cooked meals, one pot rice, ABC soup, kekeke.. The cake? Hmm.. Jelly cake maybe? Not so "nau" ma... Or follow Meow, buy rainbow cake?

Don't angry hor. Me just kidding nia..

We will give you a real birthday cake with only 55 Candles instead to match your actual looks. Happy? We will invite paying-guests to come for the poolside bash and line the bloggers in hot trunks and bikinis. Muahahahahaha

Ouch! i just woke up from a silly day dream.... back to work now.

    16. wow, this STP purposely want to fly to KL to celebrate his birthday?? i bet he has got more friends here lah, good for them also, they can save up the PosLaju fees to courier all kinds of food to Sibu.. let STP spent on the airticket so that we can just feed him on the spot!! :D

i love Twilight Man's idea!! but maybe i can enhance the idea a little, and how about this?? 62 pieces of roti canai, representing STP's age, and then within the roti, we will sandwich some kampua noodles and pian sip!! these two are his favorite thing!! and then i am sure that "cake" is huge enough for 62 candles~~ :D

      Delete
    17. Not in this post Princess Ribbon. Other post. entah mana i saw before. Ask ANay la.

Jelly cake is good. Small one la. Also got jelly rainbow cake mah.

what la STP...up there you said " You buy cake for me, ok? ". Then now say "Die lor!!! People always give me cakes. Every birthday, I have so many, two or three at least. How leh?"...so mau kek or tak mau ni...we need time to prepare punya tau...at least one month notice la.

LOL....Anay...so early you dream ah....wait ah....later Missus STP pulas your telinga baru tau...what bikini and poolside.

I sokong SK's idea. No need roti canai la. Only kampua and pian sip enough. 62 piece of kampua noodles....errr...I do not volunteer to cook all that ah...:p

yalah, this STP.. like a woman only, sekejap say wants then sekejap says don't want.. meaning he wants something but not cake lah.. right!! so that 62 pieces of roti canai, or kampua or piansip mission is on~~~ :D

SK said STP like a woman, I wana laugh la.. I think if STP puts on a wig, he indeed looks a bit like a woman wor.. Eh, don't angry ahh, kidding only..

STP already mentioned very clearly, he wants valuable presents.. You all cannot see meh? Forget about the 62 stacks of roti sandwiched with kampua or piansip la.. Kekekeeke...

      Delete
    21. wah, so happy went out for lunch somemore such a nutritious and wholesome meal!! hahaha.. eih, 62 pieces of roti canai with 62 layers of kampua and piansip you think cheap ah?? let's do the maths, just agak-agak the price okay??

      roti canai: 62 * RM1 = RM62
      kampua: 62 * RM2.50 = RM155
      piansip: 62 * RM3 = RM186
      TOTAL: RM62 + RM155 + RM186 = RM403!!!

still not yet count those sauces ah, cream ah, decorations ah, candles etc leh~~

  7. Normally, we only ask for 1 candles if for adults. If for kids, then we will ask for candles according to their age. Kids love to blow candles, so the more the better. haha

    2. I know your birthday is in June. But don't know the date. Now, looking at your blog;s name, I know the date as well.

      Delete
    3. As we grow older, I think birthday is just another ordinary day. Nothing special unless we have lots of friends to celebrate with us. For senior citizen, birthday would be important because children and grandchildren must celebrate this happy occasions.

      Delete
    4. I remember my grandma's 80 years old birthday many years back. So many cucu cicit taking photos with her with a cake in the middle. So blessed. If she is still alive, she would be 106 years old. I missed her so much.

      Delete
    5. one more thing is as we grow older our birthday cake seems to get smaller and smaller and smaller till become a piece of cake or a muffin or cupcakes only. Kinda hard to finish if big cake

      Delete
    6. Yah lo, my families always prefer very small cake...as we can't even finish 0.5kg cake...and we got to force everyone bring home some to finish it, hehe!!!

      Delete
    7. now some store bought cakes too sweet lah. sweet till eat a few bites only then no more mood to eat jor

      Delete
    8. Those jelak ones are those, neh, usually people do for birthday parties for kids.. Now very canggih one kid's birthday parties.. Those fondant cakes.. Whole cake is basically covered with sugar.. But that's the trend, cannot complain la.. Plus, it's nice.. According to themes, like Hello Kitty theme la, Princess theme la, Cars theme la.. The cake sure fondant cake.. All sugar coating.. Those cakes (or cupcakes) very sweet until jelak, normally people throw the cream aside and just eat the cake.. The cream and fondant is just for decoration and just to look beautiful only..

Paling "sat zhai" punyer cake still the old school cake la.. Those pure butter cake, covered with simple whipped cream and topped with fruits, those I like lor.. Rather than those fondant cake with Hello Kitty sugar figurines..

But times have changed la.. I have to be "in" according to the trend also.. Cannot always stick to butter cake with whipped cream, later my son ask "Why others have Ultraman theme cake, and I only have a buttercake"... Kekeeke...

      Delete
    9. That's why I said J's kiddie teacher cham lor....Muahahaha *evil grinz* so much cream on the cake. But kids loves the cream leh coz it's sweet . Only mostly adults feel jelak la

    10. When I was a very small kid, all cakes came in hard sugar icings toppings and we would peel the flowers out to munch them!! I am sure some of them got diabetes now!! LOL

      Delete
    11. true also lah, as we grow our cake becomes smaller and candles also probably can be ignored lah, haha!! maybe not even having any real celebration, but just having a nice meal with close friends and family only..

but then, unlike last time, only big occasions only we can eat cake.. nowadays, anytime you feel like eating cake, can just buy or bake right?? furthermore, the cakes nowadays so many types, one day eat one type also cannot finish them in a year dei~~ :p

      Delete
    12. Gulty guilty and guilty....yup ...i did that too...then they started with cream cake with the paper flower. I would love those flowers. Simpan and dont eat that flower. Silly me.

I remember last time Less than rm20 can get 1kg cream kek. Now if RM20...only a slice of kek lo...

Think maybe now with the internet..google all this...it is easier to get recipe online. no need to buy all those cook books. Last time use the same cook book over and over again. so tarak much choice la. Now everything at our finger tips. Can easily try baking. even klutz like me can bake lor.

      Delete
    13. meow so bad lah, you see kaldip bought you a piece of cake to cheer you up leh, and you only "borrowed" birthday cake from J to give to kaldip, hahaha, macam "pinjam bunga untuk sembahyang"..

true lah, last time RM20 can get a cake already, now maybe one one small slice, how pathetic.. but then one small slice also i am happy already lah.. some like to buy a few smaller cakes so that can taste more flavors at once too, nice idea also..

      Delete
  8. Wah, I see your picture already I wana eat the cake liao.. Don’t care what filling inside, but the outer layer of whipped cream already making me thinking of eating cake now.. Yummz…

For a moment I’m laughing la, aiyoh, where got people put so many candles one? Wait, I re-read your post.. You actually told the boy you wanted 50 candles? Normally we put 5 long candles liao enuff jor ma, no?

Errr, so you really “chap” 50 candles on your friend’s cake? Wah, hand also pain lor.. Then after blow candle, have to take out the 50 candles again, hand pain another time..

    1. Aiyoh, no big deal la.. Probably you look young and cute, so the boy thought you are buying for your dad lor.. You look like 30, younger than me, really la.. You don’t belif ahh?

    2. Aiyoh, people just wana start a conversation maybe.. So nothing to talk, wana dig some things to talk kua..

Just like me.. If eating with a colleague, so awkward, like nothing to talk, I will also dig things to talk.. Sometimes talk nonsense, but janji the situation not so awkward then enuff liao lor.. keke..

I was having lunch with this colleague the other day, just me and him.. Feel quite kamkai also la, coz seldom lunch together with him ma.. I was already thinking what to chat with him in my heart that time.. Lucky the lunch place from our office is just a short distance, coz I didn’t wana “use up” all my chat topics with him in the car.. I need to “save” some chat topics to chat with him in the lunch place kan? So in the car to the restaurant, I “use up” some chat topics first, slowly slowly use… Then after sampai the restaurant liao, I try hard not to “use” so many topics first.. I need to “keep” it to use in times of “quiet-ness” or “awkwardness”.. hehehee.. But thankfully, we had topics to chat, and we kept chatting until we finished our lunch.. So, phew, no need to dig nonsense to talk lor..

      Delete
    3. But for us ladies hor, very easy to dig up something to talk with us one.. Just talk about cooking (or baking) alone already can keep us ladies poh-pek-poh-pek.. Like what you cook for dinner tonight, how you cook the chicken, what marinade you use, what brand of sauce you use, yada yada.. So with a mummy, no problem to crack up a conversation lor.. Can just ask about kids, or cooking, then no problem la..

But for guys ahh, a bit hard la.. I am talking about myself.. Coz I don’t know about cars.. I don’t know about golf or what-nots.. Sometimes very hard to find topics to talk with a guy if we are together (alone) with them..

But if that guy is a kun-yum-ping (slave soldiers) ahh, then no problem, what you talk also he will pretend to be very interested, and will layan you, so you no need worry also la..

      Delete
    4. Eh, why am I talking about nonsense here…

Anyway, yep, back to the topic, that's my style, kekeke.. Princess Ribbon Queen of One Pot & ABC soup Jakun Glutton Minnie Mouse Polka Dot HairClip style ma..

Oohh, that alone already took up one paragraph, keke.. Ok, to conclude: SK looks very young and cute and like a small boy, that’s why the server boy thought that cake was for your father..

Really, I am not bodek-king SK, but he looks like a small boy.. He looks like 30, younger than me.. If me and him go out ahh, ahem, I think I look like his tai ka che...

Plus, people wana be friendly, wana be nice, just doing his job nia, to crack up a nice conversation, no harm la, kan? Takkan he diam-diam "min hak hak" meh.. Meow, I agree with you la.. Nowadays ahh, the cake getting smaller leh.. Semakin modern orang, semakin small la the cake..

yeah, meow is right.. if you see some "image taken from xxxx" then it's not my photo.. if you see my SK0617 logo then it's my photo lah.. easy to differentiate, so this cake is not what i bought lah, just simply grab from the internet only..

quite true, usually the ladies can get together more easily and have more things to chit-chat.. guys probably not that easily get close and won't be chatterbox lah.. unless there are special ones like 小影 who can talk about cars and gold, then sure guys like to talk to her.. and i also notice ladies especially like to get along with Mak Nyah because they are even more feminine than the ladies!!

Yup....top covered with candle wax...if ice cream cake then *horror* melt?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Meow, gip me 5, I was thinking like you also.. Where got people put so many candles one.. Later the wax sure will melt right, then the colouring will drop on the cream, yucky, then how?

If put 50 candles there, you need to light up the candle one by one.. By the time you light up the 50th candle, the 1st candle would have melted... Hmm, unless sekaligus light up a few candles..

But then, where got people really put 50 candles on a cake, kan?

I agree with SK la. Maybe JJ thinks Yannie wanna diet so he did not count on buying a cake. See buy bicycle to cycle together jor. Obviously he think of health more important. 3. I not sure wor STP, it is a waste if just throw in the dustbin. Usually I will use the candle holders, so the candles is still clean and didn't kena any of the buttercream...

      Delete
    4. Sometimes, I will just use buttercream to write like this one Happy " 5th" Birthday on the cake. It is understood right? So we will use one candle and this is definitely or is a must for everyone to blow off the candle during birthday celebration.

      Delete
    5. well, if the birthday person is young, we don't mind saying out the age. For those who refuse to tell his/her age, we just get a candle to signify any age.

      Delete
    6. hahaha, okay lah, but i have not thought about that, just find it rather funny he thought the cake was for my dad!! :p

hmmm, recycling the candles?? errr, i don't think anyone did that right?? so from now on, let us all keep our candles, and then use them all on STP's birthday cake, i am sure by then he could have 62 on the cake!! :D

      Delete
    7. I usually do! Why throw away when there is so much of it left? Waste not, want not. Once lighted, they look as good as new, anyway.

      Delete
    8. So only STP and me is using up the old candles. Hey SK, I'm using the candle holders leh, should be a mess right. To add on my explanation, those candles when we celebrated at home only I keep lar. For those we use outside, at office and with friends, I won't keep it anymore... Maybe at home, we sing the birthday song very fast and cut the cake once blown. At other places, we and the rest among our friends, later do this lar later do that lar, sing birthday song in a few versions: English, Mandarin and so on. As for the birthday girl or boy , they are touched when we held a birthday celebration for them. Then they tend to make a loooooong wish then only blow the candle and cut the cake.

      Delete
    9. Oh well, I have something to share in my blog later. Something similar with this post... Yeap, my baking mojo is back. Stay tune oh!

      Delete
    10. actually nice to have candle holders, it won't make your cake a mess.. actually can think of this way lah, the candles are filled with blessings, and passing from one to another, you get more blessings, right?? but then maybe just within the family lah, like Angeline said, office and friends one no need to keep lah.. :)

      Delete
    11. Angeline, I love baking posts.. I don't bake (nor cook) very well, but I still like to look at baking posts, especially the simple ones, then I can follow ma..

I always survey and browse until I get the easiest recipe to follow.. Example orange cake or butter cake.. Some sources say beat the eggs sekali inside the batter.. Some sources more rajin, have to separate the egg whites and yolks, and beat the egg whites first until it forms whipped cream, then only mix the whipped cream inside the batter..

So I always tend to follow the first source.. Sekali masukkan the eggs and mix.. Short cut ma..

      Delete
    12. hmmm, baking and cooking post, for me sure i like to see the photo only but will skip the ingredients and methods part lah, hahahaha!! i am too frank hor?? but i don't cook or bake mah, so no point i read those parts right?? just look at the photo of the finished product enough to drool already~~

  23. So many candles for a cake? Haven't heard of that before. That person must be so excited to put all those candles to signify the age but I doubt he/she will light them. Those candles can easily burn the whole cake!

If they do this way, I definitely will shoot them back - so what if my grandfather is celebrating his 80yo birthday? Susah lar liddat..

      Delete
    2. no lah, actually he asked how many candles and i said 50, both understood it's 50 year old.. so he just gave 5 candles for me lah.. surely they won't give 50, that's a cost to the cake shop dei..

    5. There's a limit also to what customer can expect of service from a shop. Coming from the staff point of view, what if a lot if customer do that? Ask for candles then simpan for other use?

Like when we think of nothing taking sugar sachets from fast food outlet.

      Delete
    6. true, that's why i understand and just get my 5 candles for the 50 year-old.. i guess the most you can get is 18 candles when you 99 years old, 9 big and 9 small :)

talking about fast food chains, i feel so sad with the wasteful attitude of the people.. i actually feel like suggesting them to charge customers for additional sachets of chili sauce or ketchup lah.. of course being in Malaysia, have to give in to maybe provide two sachets for free initially lah, ask for more then pay lor.. like that will i kena from all people nationwide?? :D

  30. Since today topic is on birthday cake, let me talk more about birthday cake. To me, birthday isn’t necessary to have present, but must at least have a birthday cake. Since I was a kid, I know that. So, everyone will have birthday cake on their birthday in my family. Even my parents in law, they would say no need to buy them cake, as they don’t really like cake. But I insist in buying cake for them. Now, they will expect birthday cake on their birthdays.
Buying cake for someone on their birthday is indeed a very sweet gesture.

    1. I agree with you Yannie.. I always associate birthdays with cakes and also blowing candles.. To me, birthday must have cakes, Valentine’s day must have flowers lor.. Yep, call me old fashioned.. I may be a jakun (my favourite word), but at times, I am still very traditional..

Even my boy’s birthday, although still babies and cannot really eat cake yet, I still wana buy a cake and blow candle and take pictures.. It’s like a norm already..

Of course my mouth say no need to buy flowers for me on V-day, but you know us girls la, “hau pat dui sum”, say don’t want means want.. I was actually hoping in the office the whole day of V-day to see if there was flowers for me.. The answer is no.. Sad..

Anyway, I told hubby to make it a point to buy cake to celebrate the family’s birthdays.. Make it a norm.. Mother’s day or anniversary, make it a point to eat out, even if there’s no presents.. Have been hinting and nagging for a few years, still no actions taken.. A bit disappointed leh.. Hubby is not a romantic type.. And very stone type (batu).. mokmok tuktuk.. Haiz…

      Delete
    2. ok ok, now we know both Yannie and Ribbon likes cake!! to me, kind of the same also lah.. though i may not want one whole cake, but a small cake or just one slice, just "yi si yi si" like that lor, not necessarily to blow candles and receive birthday presents also lah.. but then nowadays, as i grow older, "look more openly" lor, birthday can be just another normal day too, no cake no present also fine lah.. as long as friends wish me happy birthday, then will be happy already :)

      Delete
    3. Yeap everyday is our birthday...For me no cake also find one, because I can bake a cake at anytime if I want to. I prefer to bake cakes for my family members and friends because I feel very happy doing it. I really wish to bake for everyone if I have the time to do it.

      Delete
    4. LoiuzYee you're not jakun or old fashioned lar... Birthday must have a cake and V day must have flowers - every I wish I have flowers during my V Day too... But hubby didn't doing that anymore, last time ada lar, received my favourite flower - Tulips. Now when age getting older, spending too much money on flower was such a waste. Rather spend time with my loves one going for a short trip, having meal together which I feel more happier and wish everyone stays healthy all the time and we can spend more time together again and again.

    5. Angeline sure no problem lah because she is the Taiping Baking Queen mah.. SK must buy from outside because he doesn't know how to bake at all, haha!! and true also, as we grow older, we kind of see things differently.. what we thought must have last time, may not be just optional things nowadays.. so the most important thing now, probably is to be able to stay healthy and happy huh?? :)

    1. Ok, this photo you showed is kinda funny! I mean look at the number of the candles!!! I think it's just for fun, for illustration purpose only la! Who will need so many candles right? Wanna remove also takes time lo! And later the cake become ugly already with so many holes!
Usuall we just use 1 bigger candle to 'represent' the age, hehe! 意思意思罢了啦!Wanna blow also easier, wanna remove also easier, haha xD Another reason using one candle is to hide the actual age la of course! ;))
Actually come to think of it, I wonder who come up with the idea of using candles on birthday cake? One year one candle? Is it really necessary? Hehehe~

      Delete
    2. If I go buy a birthday cake, I will only request for one candle enough, like I said, 意思意思罢了... Plus we will just throw away the candle after that so no point requesting so many candles.
So the cake you buying, I guess the seller gave you 5 bigger candles? Or 50 small candles?? Haha xD
Yala I think he was trying to be friendly by talking to his customers, so he asked you that question. But when you refer yourself as uncle, I think you 另他难堪了一点咯!Haha xD But then he shouldn't have mind that la since you're not the shop's regular customer, I reckon?

      Delete
    3. If you ask me what kinda birthday present I want, well, I am very realistic, I would prefer ang pao, hehehe! But of course not everyone can give ang pao (especially those not yet married one), so if that case, I'd ask for beauty products, cheap or expensive doesn't matter, it's the heart and thought that counts right?
Anyway, without present is totally ok, since I realise the older we grow the less present we get, if got also from closer friends/family members only. But a birthday cake is a must, I think this is the least someone can do, even a slice is good enough!
At least it shows that someone remembers our birthday and have the heart to give us something!

Of course these days, no one ask me what birthday present I want. I don't know, perhaps people think I have got everything I want? LOL!
So the case above, just I berangan-angan saja ya! xDD

    4. Anyway, I wanna add on something, I am a true dessert lover so if someone given me a slice of cake as birthday present, I'll be more than happy ;)
I even request for a cake from my hubby, I can go choose myself, he pays for it, wakaka! So bad hor this wife? :p
But of course in the end, we share the cake together la! Wanna get fat together ma! xD
Speaking about cake, well I can bake a cake, but not those very fancy types la! I mean those with fruits inside or with icing on top, I don't think my kungfu is up to that level yet. But a simple buttery cake, with simple decorations on top (like cherry, strawberry) should not a big problem to me, just depends whether I got the mojo or not, haha xD

Ok, time to bed already, good night everyone!!

    5. yeah, still no progress for MH370 case, pray for the passengers and crew and all their families..

well, i think now i don't really hope for a big cake lah, one piece of cake and one candle is enough lah.. old already, cannot eat so much of cake and no energy to blow so many candles also mah, hehe!! but then, good to have a cake for birthday lah even though not really necessary for me now, uncle age already everything also 看得開 mah.. same to birthday presents lah, if got then it's a bonus, else also fine with that..

hmmm, you can bake then easier lah.. can always bake for your hubby.. and have you ever thought of teaching your hubby to bake so that he will also bake you a nice birthday cake on your birthday?? haha~~ :D

  34. SK, your blog is like a chat room. Want to put comment also got to scroll so long down under hah...hah.....People tend to make assumptions, right? When they see a man and a woman having a meal together they assume husband and wife or boyfriend and girlfriend. Or if one is older and the other younger, father/daughter or vice versa. I think it is better to steer clear of making assumptions and say something neutral or else can cause discomfort or embarrassment.

    1. haha, thanks to all readers for the support, it's indeed fun to come into this "chatroom" to talk a bit about nonsense with other bloggers.. and yeah, making assumptions but as long as the intention is not to hurt people, i guess it's all fine.. :)
