the 4D3N trip to Bali in 2004 would be the most spontaneous and a trip i went with the most number of mates since i graduated.. i remember AirAsia just started business not long and flights to Indonesia had never been so cheap, that was why it created the excitement among us and hence the trip..
  • OMG i was so young and so slim back then!! @#$%^&*
  • i was instant "millionaire" after exchanging for some rupiah, and things are sold in thousands of rupiah there..
  • we hired two vans with drivers (1-million rupiah each at the airport) to bring us around.. uluwatu, kintamani, nusa dua, kuta, tanah lot, goa gajah and ubud were places we went..
  • nope, we didn't make it to bedugul.. also a little disappointed as it rained when we visited tanah lot, and didn't have time to have a taste of their famous roast pork rice..
  • just few days after this trip, the most devastating disaster of that decade happened.. the asian tsunami on boxing day, amitabha..

    1. Very nice photos.

C - Didn't know Bali has a cliff so nice. Looks almost like in Europe.

G - Enjoying tea like in Camerons at the tea plantation viewing deck..

H - paddy fields - so green and soothing and very nice houses in the background.

    2. I - High street so happening already at that time.

J - Tanah lot temple island always reminds me of bonsai - a pretty and nicely-designed garden in a planting pot. No?

L - haha.. You're quite a model there, wor! So "kau siu". Nice! Memories, eh?

    3. M - Very nice Balinese gate. I feel part of the attraction of a place is its history - customs, architecture and so forth. Sadly, Malaysia does not see it and instead history is being destroyed as if people come here to see the twin towers alone! Aarghh!

  2. N - Is the tattoo for real? If so, why cicak? Interesting one to choose. Two, some more. ;)

    1. Alright, last question. 6 pairs. The other cicak in the back row? :p

Nice group photo. One for the album certainly.

Ten years - time for a revisit?

You were so lucky to have missed that incident. I too missed a disaster. I was supposed to be at Borobudur the week Mount Bromo erupted. Gosh, that certainly was close!

Thanks for sharing these lovely photos. Memories are certainly made of these..

Looking forward to your next trip. Dubai should be fun..

    2. If not mistaken the cicak is a symbol of bringing good luck over there. Me too wondering is it real or temporary tattoo

  7. Your gang had 12 fellas on Bali Hai holidays!!! That was sure fun and lots of laughters. I am sure the photos totaled over 10,000 shots by 12 people. I am always scared to travel in big groups after getting few minor headache experiences.
