13.11.2012 | 合法貸款

[Volume 7 Issue 11, #1597]
don't take it wrong, i am not a loan shark asking you to borrow money, haha!! just happen to see lots of such bills everywhere recently, some even claimed they are licensed, but is that true?? i heard people saying "nine out thirteen back", meaning if you borrow a thousand, you will only take nine hundred but have to return one thousand three hundred in total, net interest 40%!! maybe it's very competitive now, so this bill says the interest is just 20%, but what is meant by the 5% there?? maybe 5% daily on arrears not cleared?? wow, that's scary man!! that's why, don't simple borrow money from others, cos it's so easy to get into tangled trouble~~
happy diwali everyone!! दिवाली की शुभकामनाएं

    1. But then, why choose to become a victim of loan sharks?

And why some, didn't pay up? Granted, the interest is high. Granted some has no other avenue but some borrowed for what? Gambling?

There must be a buyer for a seller to buy, right?

    2. They get fast money, Lina. Those who are desperate for cash opt to borrow from the sharks, rather than waiting for the personal loan from bank to get approved.

Moreover they don't need the papers for submitting, give them your photostats IC and your latest photo will do.

When you don't pay on time, you'll get free advertisement, everywhere - poles, lamp post, unoccupied shoplots, roadside. Can become famous overnight.

    3. Ya...coz bank have to wait long time baru can get loan and money. kena check this and that. if wait for the money to save life...might be too late already

Maybe their family got family member sick and nobody have enough money to cover leh. so go pinjam from loan shark to pay medical bill first lor. Some hospital need to pay deposit before they will start work punya leh.

Could be some people no more avenue for money so forced to borrow from loan shark first though maybe when salary time can pay back but mana tau one thing after another and they lost track of whatever they doing .

  5. The govt should call all these numbers on pretext of borrowing. Once they showed up, just lock them up. That will end all the ugly stickers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Is it as simple as that, annay? But the authority won't bother to do that, they got no profit of doing so.

The people borrowing from along are mostly poor (and stupid) rakyat. Who would bother to save them?

    2. Don't worry... Michael Chong can help.

      Delete
    3. he still helping meh?

Ya wor...if the government really wanna do something about that they can call up the number and pretend to borrow money then tangkap them. But then those who kena tangkap will mostly be small fish la. Waste phone bill

    2. Frankly, I have no problem with them running their business because they are a source of much-needed funds for whoever needs quick-and-ready cash for whatever reason. Just agitated by their plastering their services everywhere making the place unsightly. The authorities will need to take action on the vandalism if we want to be a developed nation. Our attitude and mentality need schooling.

      Delete
    3. You have not experienced paying them back...they will pull you deeper and deeper into the pull and there is no turning back. Would be fine if they are running a legitimate business and charge high interest...but somehow, the outstanding balance keeps increasing by the day...and you'll be paying back forever!!!

That's why you have the killing cases - borrowers killing loan sharks as they cannot pay...and loan sharks killing the borrowers for that same reason.

I suppose there are good money lenders who are not loan sharks but unfortunately, they are all rolled together as one...

  9. Oh, never heard about the nine out thirteen back. But heard of nine out ten back, which means the interest is 10%. And the along takes the interest first, before the term reaches.

Heard stories that a friend want to borrow RM1K but he's given RM900 and requested to pay the full amount a month later interest is charged 10% monthly, if he cannot pay in full.

I guess the along is high in demand now, rising the interest charge.

  10. Aware of the so called licensed sharks, some even take the effort to send their business card from house to house, the card kiap-ed with the other hypermarket catalogue.

Usually I dump them in the dustbin. So, who is more desperate now? The loan shark or the poor people in need of money?

    ReplyDelete

    1. my mail box also kena a lot of these advertisement.

Makes me wonder what exactly is the meaning of Licenced Money Lender. Licenced by who? Bank Negara Malaysia? or maybe they mean they got registered company ?

      Delete
    2. Licensed Money Lender is indeed licensed by Bank Negara.

Not all shady what. But they charge higher interest as their risk is higher. Some people think borrow from them no need to pay.

Even loans from bank, I've come across those who simply refuse to pay their instalment and more mind boggling is some of them even "teach" people online how to avoid paying their loans.

I'm sorry but if you owe someone or an organisation money and refuse to pay, doesn't it be similar to stealing? Or cheating?

  11. More people are more alert of the loan sharks, after reading tones of news daily on how far the sharks can go to extract the money from borrowers. But still some resort to them, sigh.

    1. They desperate jor la. Otherwise, i dont think they will simply borrow money from loan shark.

Maybe they kena scam by friends or what....say invest in some business...not enough money the friend "into" to another friend who can lend the money...janji pulangan lumayan...then borrow ...the business lingkup and got caught in the web lor....

      Delete
    2. Then if they borrow for the reason you state Meow, that's due to greed. Not an emergency at all.

      Delete
    3. But granted, I know traders (pasar malam trasers, stall owners, etc) sometimes resort to getting loans from these people. Easy and fast money, in view of the intention of paying immediately after getting profit. After all, their income comes in daily. Got a lot of profit that day, can pay up immediately lah....

But I never sympathetise with those who are willing to borrow for gambling and then let their family suffer. :(

      Delete
    4. True, loan sharks give out loans very fast whereas for bank, it will need a few days to get it approved. Very troublesome, that's why some people just loan from the loan sharks.

  12. Good day...manyak susah wanna say...I also duno why people borrow money from money lenders like that. Desperate already or what gua.

could be cannot get loan from banks and family and time was desperate?

or maybe got in financial scape but dare not tell te family so thought borrow money from money lenders first to cover for short term basis.

In the old days people borrow money from money lenders coz the Banks too much red tape la. But then even now also a lot of red tape

    1. I thought now much easier to apply for these unsecured loan already Meow.

Seems like every other day, people representing banks call me up offering personal loans. senang-senang wanna give out loan for few hundred thousand Ringgit. @.@

    2. Business people definitely need loans from the banks to pay for their expenses or so. At least they can afford to pay back. As for us, if we loan much, I'm afraid we need to be very discipline in order to clear our debts.

      Delete
    3. well the most important is not to overspend..
there are a lot of people who over spend due to credit card and so on..
they can't repay the debts and it cause so many problems...

    1. Banks also loan money to their clients and charged immense interest too. Whereas the loan sharks have to be strict on their part so as to survive too. Some people borrow money but never have the intention to pay back.
