[Volume 10 Issue 3, #2005]
Myopia, Hypermetropia & Presbyopia (2 of 2)
Short-sighted and Long-sighted, Myopia and Hypermetropia

this post today is the second part of a two-parts series, if you have not read the first part, i would recommend that you read it here before you continue with this.. :)

...after being "enlightened" that both myopia and hypermetropia could happen at the same time, there was this day when i was placing a device on my lap below my chin and resting on my chest, while my hands stretched beyond and placed on the keyboard.. for convenience (actually lazy to move), i was trying to read the serial number of that device by looking down right from that position.. to my utter horror, i could not see the serial number!! i have to move my head up and lower the device a little for a bigger distance before i could read it clearly.. i immediately got alarmed, "oh my, is this long-sightedness coming too early??" *blue face and sweat*!!

i calmed down and quickly googled hypermetropia *light bulb*.. relieved was what i read from a few websites that, a normal human vision allows one to see things 25cm away up to an infinite distance.. meaning it's absolutely fine that i could not read the serial number from such a close distance (about 15cm), hehe!! terkejut badak i.. a little knowledge sharing here, and remember never get paranoid before you confirmed thing is happening.. :D

  1. Is true that while the age is getting bigger and we need to more concern about health, last time I can stay up all night don’t need to sleep ya, but if didn’t sleep more than 6 hours I will feel super tired throughout the whole day…

I heard about this from my eldest brother in law and my brother recently, I guess they’re roughly same age as you, he said ya see the closer thing need to take off the glasses, but see the far one have to wear the glasses, so now my brother in law he bought one glasses that can open the glasses one which is almost similar design as the sunglasses (like people has short-sightedness, they’ve to wear glasses all the time, but how about they want to wear sunglasses?? So they will need to put on extra sunglasses on top of their glasses, right? So like that they still can have a sunglasses with the correct short-sighted facts on), don’t need to take off the glasses, you still wearing the frame but the glasses you can push up (opened up) then can see closer thing.

    1. Copy pasted yesterday comment, come back later..

But I wonder how far the exact distance between the serial number and your eyes (paiseh, very hard to imagine, I tried the exact same thing you mentioned but I still see it clearly la, but of coz if put too closer then can't see la and head will feeling a bit dizzy tim)

    2. yeah.. suffering from either one is already quite troublesome, if BOTH come together ah, really cannot imagine how troublesome upon troublesome it is.. hope there is advanced technology to help us with this soon..

errr, about 15cm, quite near hor?? haha..

      Delete
    3. Quite near ya, for me I feel a bit dizzy la! But anyway I think the best is always don't see this so near, keep the safety distance is good for the eyes and also won't tiring ourselves, right?

    4. Youngsters can see small prints up close to their eyes. I don't think I can do that but I can still see small prints at a normal distance. Customers always like to ask for the expiry date so my eyes need to be sharp.

      Delete
    5. OMG! Got such lazy customers who rather asked you for expiry dates! Tell them you left your eyes at home. Muahahaha

I used to curse and the food manufacturers as they always print their expiry dates at odd places using silly fonts. I often wondered why the whole world could not create a standard procedure to print at bottom areas using same big fonts. They could set the whole world to use same A4 and A3 sized papers. This is similar theory of enforcement.

    6. Yah, this is actually a good idea like got some product they put the period last to keep the product but how are we know when do we buy it or when was the manufacturing date? Got certain products but some really don't have then for safety always got to throw it, no like because we don't want to waste it then rush our life to try the food, right?

  2. Yesterday, I like your last sentence in your first post.. And this was what I did too.. You really un me wor.. I usually read your post first, then minimize it (coz colleagues/bosses can see), I open a Word document and start typing.. After I’m done, I sekali copy and paste, according to different paragraphs.. Senang !! And people thought I’m bz typing some kind of assignment, haha..

Actually leh, I start work 8.30am, but you always publish 8.38am, but still can la, bosses not yet come in.. So usually I will spam everything kau-kau first, then only do my work..

    2. Princess here ahh, also got rabun jauh la.. Rabun jauh means cannot see far rite? And rabun dekat means cannot see near rite.. I was detected with rabun jauh at 10 years old.. That time, power on both eyes already 200… Wearing thick plastic glasses at age 10, haizzz…

      Delete
    3. Then when I went to college, I saved up and bought contact lens.. When I started working, I still wore contact lens, but stopped after a few years due to some eye infection.. Now, I don’t wear contact lens jor loooo.. I wear glasses when I’m driving, but I don’t need glasses at work.. My power is 500 on one eye, and about 300 on the other eye.. I can use one dominant eye to “help” with my sight, so that’s why I don’t need glasses during work/driving when there’s bright sunlight..

    4. LASIK? This issue leh, I’ve been comtemplating since I was 22.. I was thinking, if wana do, better do while you’re young.. More worth it ma.. Imagine doing it at the age of 35, and then, macam wasted so many year jor (from 22-35), you un? But then ahh, princess here NATO (no action, talk only) la, until today, still dare not do LASIK.. I know, I know, many people did it liao, with high success rate also.. But still, hmm, up to you to call me, I’m a bit conservative, or maybe chicken, I’m still scared la.. What if, I mean if, there’s 0.0001% chances might go wrong, then go blind jor, how? Eeeee, takut..

    5. I heard hor, as we age, power becomes stagnant or maybe go down leh.. Believe mou? I don’t know if there’s any studies or research about this, but I also can observe from real life people leh.. When they are older, power becomes stagnant, no more going up.. When they go to test/check their eyes ahh, power gone down a bit timmm..

      Delete
    6. Ooohh, one more, I guess most people knows liao.. Bilberry and Vitamin B supplements help to make the power down, but you gotta eat consistently for many years la. And my friend told me, if small kids wearing glasses at a young age, they have this eye massager thingy, to help massage the eyes, to bring down the power wer.

      Delete
    7. Now ahh, you no need to change glasses jor lor, if wana look far or look near.. One multi-focal glasses like you said, kaotim liao.. You only need to tilt the head upper or lower to see far or near, kekekeke.. And best of all, 3-in-1, there’s this black shade thingy incorporated inside too.. Dunno what’s it’s called.. You go out and kena sunlight, the lens automatically become dark geh.. Canggih, huh..

    8. Ok, about your second post, errr, I’m STILL trying to imagine your story.. Placing a device on your lap, below your chin (ok, this one I know), and resting on your chest (errr, wah, means the device is so huge and long ga, until your chest from the lap?), and trying to see the serial number by looking down like that (ok, this one I know), and you can’t see the number.. Eh, normal la, certain position ahh, cannot see one la, have to adjust-adjust only can see one.. No issue la, dear..
You see too near of coz cannot la darling.. Place further a bit, ma ok jor lor.. Hak sei chi ki for what?

    10. Good Afternoon Bloggers!!!

Oh My Gawd!!! This Princess has eye power of 500 and 300 yet you still could sit in the office looking pretty without glasses! I would be blind like a bat and fall into the toilet bowl. Wakakakaka

I really salute you and how do you 'see' people? They all looked blurr and sotong faces, right? LOL

    11. You started wearing glasses just one year ahead of me. I started at 11 years old and wore contact lenses when I started working as I played badminton. I also went catamaran & windsurfing where I always fell into the sea!! In the end, I quit using contact lenses as my eyes were often too dry because I slept with the lenses!!!

      Delete
    12. I totally agree that daily intake of billberry and vitamin A would help to strengthen the eye's cornea muscle that will help correct our vision. You mentioned Vitamin B instead and I am curious which doctor said so??

I must start eating these supplements again as my eyes have been so tired lately from spamming SK's blog postings!!! Wakakakaka just kidding nia. SK should give away a CD and a bottle of Billberry Pills to all the TOP 3 spammers lah.. Agree???

    13. i also had problem with my eyes when i turn 11, started with 200 both eyes and then after than slowly increasing to 650-700.. if without my glasses or contact lens, my world is all blurry blurry one.. but then i really am shocked lah, Princess Ribbon with 500 and 300 and yet does not need to wear her glasses at work!! aiyoyo, that would quite strain the eye leh, are you checking up your eyes again to see if the power increase??

i didn't wear contact lens until i am in college, and since then i always put on my contact lens when i am out, i only wear my ah pek glasses at home, hahaha!! OMG, cannot sleep with your contact lens lah, couple of hours of nap still okay, but don't wear your contact lens 24x7 dei, your eyes need to breathe also..

      Delete
    14. I also don't need glasses when I'm at work. My power is just about 100 or so. Not too sure anyway. I only wear glasses when I drive or watch a movie.

      Delete
    15. Oops, TM, you are right.. Vitamin A is the answer hehe.. I think Vitamin B is for "feeling good", it helps to relax and can cure mild unhappiness? Hehehehe..

    17. I am so curious to see Thambee wearing Ah Pek glasses at home! You must be cute like Doraemon! I am sure SK looks more handsome with his glasses! Show! Show! Show!

I need to do more eye exercises and hot towel treatment to decrease the power. It works!

Monsieur Chris, you can get plentiful of natural Vitamin A from all the red colour fruits and vegetables like strawberries, dragon fruits, cherry, carrot, beet root and tomatoes!! I am not sure blood is suitable or not to drink? LOL

    1. I would be dead & blurr sotong as I really do not know how to call these 2 sights in Chinese! Tell me what it is in Chinese. I could only roughly translate into "See Far" or "See Near" in Chinese. Betul kah?

Now you made me wonder what comes after being short sighted and far sighted? I guess it could be cataract and glaucoma for advanced aged people. I am not too far away!!! Everyday we get closer to our graves.

      Delete
    2. errrr, short (or near) sighted means you can only see near but cannot see far.. long (or far) sighted means you can only see far but cannot see near.. and the same applies to Chinese also..

      Delete
    3. Cataract is very common among the elderly. But thank god my mum has no cataract. She has good eyesight. She has consumed Lutein which is a supplement for eyes. I'm taking it to maintain my eyesight.

      Delete
  5. Googled liao...lol...looks like am wrong i always assumed long sightness is cannot see faraway coz the word long and that near sightness means cannot see near.

From data shown, the opposite is true. Near sightnesss means cannot see far else far sightness cannot see near.

Very glad to know yours is near sightness and not far sightness. Means you are still young la.far sightness is lou fah right? Usually those who age ahem ahem of older age like me will have the far sightness la.

Aiyo...add with scientific name/terms , me lagi confused. Myopia. ..adui....gotta google

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. haha, you terbalik already lah.. now you must correct yourself, you are short-sighted lah, which is myopia.. and "lou fah" is long-sighted that is caused by age then this is called presbyopia, and the long-sighted that is not caused by age is called hypermetropia or hyperopia..

hahahahaha.. i also learn about the scientific name and hafal them only :p

  6. so myopia is near sightness ya Can be corrected using LASIK. so have you consider doing that yet?

Am having myopia too but dare not try out LASIK. Coz heard of he risk. For eyes I feel scare to try lo. Maybe if there is end of the road or no choice then maybe i will try . Might be too late or not? Don;t know la. But scare.

I have friends who recommended me to do Lasik at a lasik centre in Midvalley. Heard it's good and not that expensive. Around RM3k for two eyes f am not mistaken.

For a time there I was tempted but when read up more about Lasik. I feel maybe Lasik will not be able to help me much. I read up say that if the myopia is very high ...means eye very bad already, end result will still need to wear glasses even after having done Lasik. So not much of changes for me. Die die will still have to wear glasses. Only thing is the power of the glasses will be lower . Not much difference then

Maybe for you it is worth doing it la since your power is much ower than mine

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Seriously...i look back at previous post. You should get Lasik done. Mine is double your power. Not much difference or help for me but for you, dont think you will need to wear glasses or contact lenses after having lasik done.

Should be quite safe la now the lasik is very advance. That time when i look and consider was around 10 years ago. Technology had come far after all this time.

But best dont take the cheapo buy fro certain discount company la. This thing we cannot jimat punya coz it's eye sight.

Maybe can consult Yannie. She done Lasik right last year and se is looking great.

    2. My sister had to do her lasik twice!!!! That was because being a bimbo, she needed to look pretty gal and contact lenses was a terrible chore to keep clean, wash, store and replace stuffs so she had her lasik done years ago in London. Mana tahu, now she had to go and correct them again with another round of lasik in Kuala Lumpur! That means there is no guarantee that one simple surgery could last a lifetime. Probably that one depends on each individual case of hamsap eyes! Wakakakakaka

I heard a lot horror stories about doing lasik surgery until I have phobia to do it. Maybe I should look better with spectacles as I am a very lazy contact lenses user. My sister's friend had her lasik surgery done in Kuala Lumpur in the morning and she could happily drive her own car back to Johor Bahru the same day! My sister did her lasik surgery done in London and could not even drive her car home in the evening! After 3 months, she was still unable to go shopping for shoes as she could not tell the colour and shape of the shoes clearly!! Goodness!!! That scared me like shit.

I think it is more advisable to get it done at a later stage of our lives.

    3. I also have heard of this reliable and good lasik centre at mid valley. I heard good reviews from some relatives and friends but the price sounds cheap for both eyes! Either they have reduced drastically or you heard wrongly. Check it out and let me know! I need to look handsome!! Ahem! Ahem!

      Delete
    4. yeah, i think most of us are short-sighted lah, i think this is more common than long-sighted.. and long-sighted got two types, not necessarily only old people will kena lah.. there is also long-sighted that is not caused by aging leh..

aiyoh, i have also been contemplating about doing the LASIK leh, but then also keep dragging because also worry.. it's like a dilemma lah, want to do but scared to do, hahaha!! i really like waking up, opening my eyes, and i can see the world clear and sharp!!

    5. I did my Lasik last year on Day 7 Chinese New Year. It was just a year anniversary. So far I am satisfied for the result. I need no glasses for short and long distance reading. Of course I don't mean very small print here. I hope I can survive for good eye sight until a few more years. I also know I may need another surgery in future.

      Delete
    6. D it at later stage of life like 30 or 40. When the eye sight problems returned back, you probably be in your old age and don't bother to look good already. Also no need to be so convenient without a glass by then.

      Delete
  7. So sorry about what happen to you friend had Lasik but the problem recurr. Maybe she is same like me la. Though do lasik but will still come back.

I suspect even if after doing lasik, ones would still need to do "maintainance". Just like car. From time to time you have to send for maintainance and have to take care.

Maybe have to eat more red food? Not Ayam masak merah ah... Rather like carrot, tomato and look at green things. DOnt stare at PC long time and these. Think you know already la how LOL.

And daily have to do eye execise. During school days our teachers saw many of us wearing specs and then he daily come into our class he will teach and after some time he will stop and tell us to execise our eyes...nit looking at ah moi or lengchai but rather look out the padang. LOL...guess that is the only teacher who will encourage his students to look out into the padang. Then he will ask us to roll our eyes to the left and right.

He said he did that daily and his eye sight become better. He had to go to the spectecles shop to change specs to a lower power ones.

Anyway...too bad i didnt follow up with that or else maybe my eye sight will not be that bad la

    1. LASIK is not 100% corrective, but also because this friend did LASIK many years ago.. i guess if we are not taking care of our eyes then high chances that it will come back.. and yes, i have heard that if we always train our eyes to look far, that can actually help to reduce the power.. because we are short-sighted, so we train ourselves to look far.. but too bad huh, seems like many of us nowadays only look at phones and computers :D

      Delete
    2. Lasik is not perfect. It can be under-corrected or over-corrected. Meaning if under-corrected, one still has some short-sighted. If over-corrected, one gets long-sighted. It can be worrisome and scary too.

      Delete
    3. LASIK is not 100%. I agree. Before LASIK, my left eye was 600 and my right eye was 100 short sighted. I also have myopia that time. So, after done LASIK, I left with 100 at my left eye and 100% corrected for my right eye. Meaning I still have 100 short sighted at my left eye and MYOPIA may come back due to age.

      Delete
    4. Whoa!!! I am shocked to hear this new statement of under-corrected or over-corrected theories!! I never knew there could be such flaws carried out by the professionals. I only thought that when one ages on later, the level of our eye muscles would drop which will make our corrected visions blurr again though in a smaller power changes only that may not even need the use of glasses!

So far I had seen a few who had red marks of their eye balls after the LASIK and they looked scary like blood shots!! Yeeeeeeeerrr!!

    1. Wah! I got twitched in my eye brows and this meow really called my name! I think what pia and pia you have does not matter any more. We all know you have this unique Nenekpia Syndrome!! Wakakaka

I read somewhere about this issues where sometimes people confused hyperopia with presbyopia, which also is a difficulty in seeing up close, but has a real different cause.
When people developed this presbyopia, they find they need to hold books, magazines, newspapers, menus and other reading materials at arm's length in order to focus properly. When they performed their daily work, such as embroidery or handwriting, they may have headaches or eyestrain, or feel fatigued.

You are a qualified receiver of Warga Emas discounts and good luck to you dei.

    2. hmmm, like that you better go and have your eyes checked lah.. or maybe you are reading too much books until the wee hours and you tired your eyes only?? haha.. hyperopia or presbyopia both also long-sighted, can see far cannot see near.. but hyperopia is nothing to do with ageing like presbyopia..

    3. Sometimes too much of reading can tires the eyes. I experienced it before. I did too much of computer work and suddenly my eyes became blurry. I quickly take Berries drink and rest my eyes. Fair enough, my eyes became normal again.

      Delete
    4. I do experience this eye fatigue almost daily with hours spent reading blogs, typing computers and watching late night TV programmes! Even when berries drinks could help the tired eyes, I realised the repeated unhealthy long hours could cause damage to our eyes in the long run. The muscles would simply loosen their grips and cause permanent damages.

So the saying goes ~ Prevention is better than cure!

    5. Don't get bi-focal lens...it's very inconvenient. Go for progressive lens.

  9. Am now thinking of getting a multi focal glasses but ....hmm...heard that there are quite many problems with those. chicken chicken chicken...maybe self denial and wait some more la. maybe i dont have long sightness leh... it;'s just in my imgination leh.

But for long sightness it seems like no cure geh. It's either get the multi focal glasses or to get Lasik and other corrective surgery done.

hahaha it would be funny to see how the doctor gonna do it for my case...both long and sort sightness. Haiz...why both cannot contra out each other like in accounting leh. That one kan baik .

    1. huh?? problems with multi-focal glasses?? i have not heard about that, i only know they don't look nice because you have one extra little square "patch" of lens at the bottom of your glasses for the "lou fah".. but maybe now they have advanced in the technology and everything is blended into one nice lens??

hahaha, yes!! i once thought both won't happen together and they somehow can contra, but i was wrong!!

    2. Nowadays, multi-focal glasses doesn't look like those ones anymore. They look just like any ordinary glasses. That's what I heard from my friend. But short-sighted does contra long-sighted provided the power is not high.

    2. My optician did something for me i.e. he lowered my power on my left eye to sort of balance things out. But he warned me that it would be good for only one year and my long sightedness will come back. At first I could read the papers at normal distance but now my problem is back. I don't want to wear granny specs to read!

    2. The second time I had to change my specs (due to increased power), I was not so lucky. My dad was the one who took me there. He chose for me a black 60's style frames against the kind opticians advise. The optician told him that the old style frames was not suitable and I might get teased by my classmates.

    3. I was really sad with my dad's choice but during those days you just obeyed. Not like kids these days who can voice their protest and parents do listen to them.

    4. The optician was right. I was teased in school and it made me very sad and self-conscious. I wore that ugly specs until Form 5. Then finally, my mum allowed me to switch to metal frames. It was such a relief!

    5. You really brought me smiles and ear to ear grins to hear Rodenstock brand which was a trend back then. I didn't know they had fake brands on sale by opticians. My time in Penang, that Mona Lisa was in fashion and more affordable than Rodenstock. However, RayBan was an all time classic fashion from decades ago till today.

What a sad thing you had to wear thick plastic frames until got teased like an ugly duckling in your school. Muahahaha I am always very curious how you looked like as you hide yourself behind the vegetables profile!! Muahahahaha I always imagine you wear a chef's white hat holding a rolling pin and a wok on other hand. Wakakaka just kidding. Can you show? Show?

    6. Many years ago the costs of spectacle frames and lenses were much more expensive than now as there were lesser market competition then. Now China has advanced skills and killed all the leading brand names with their low cost manufacturing in imitating exactly. Now the brand leaders in fashion and cosmetics have to ask them to manufacture to cut costs.

So the kids and younger generation are spoilt with more choices at very low and affordable prices for eye wears!

In my everyday life, I don't need so sharp vision. Unless if I want to be a sniper hah..hah... When my power is increased too high to enable me to see those last few lines, my long sightedness becomes worse. That is why my optician did not give me full blast of power. At least I can read at near distance.

My power reduced slightly when i made a new pair of glasses!! No kidding! Our eyesight problems are simple due to the muscle issues that could also be corrected by simple morning eye exercises and supplement intake. My wife need not wear glasses but her astigmatism is quite bad that she dare not drive at night for long distance whereas I could drive from KL to Penang along the dark highways. I even drove from Southern California across the pitch black deserts and arrived Grand Canyon at 3.00am! My eyes were dead tired of course!

So confirm that I need lo fa ngan specs already but since I can still read the fine print when I hold the paper very close to my eyes, I am putting off getting a lo fa ngan specs. Mine is a cheaper one around RM800+, which is also recommended by my optician where as a first buyer, no need to wear a good one yet. Get adapted first then I can opt for those better and expensive ones which has a larger reading area.

  31. You got the facts wrong same like me. Initially, some smart Alec also told me the same thing...if you have presbyopia, your short sighted will not grow anymore or stabilise. It's wrong... both will still grow at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If you increase the power of your short sightedness, chances are you will have problems reading. Thus, the optician usually will either -

    1 Recommend a progressive lens
2 Try not to increase your short sighted power too much

You will need to put the book or reading device farther away if you power of your lens increased.

I suggest you get a progressive lens if needed.

  33. I may change to a better progressive lens in 1-2 years time with transition. I miss my transition len. It really protect the eyes.

1 Stop reading for too long
2 Stop reading until too late till the late nights. (I always do that and my power keep increasing. Even my kid too, he 'ipad' too much liao

My wife's college students wore frames from Dior, Prada and Armani without powers. I pity their parents who blindly supported their shopping! The world is sometimes nuts!

Now the new fashion frame is called the Owl Eyes look! I had them before and I remember some retarded nerd called me "Chicken Little"... Muahahaha

  46. I used to wear disposable contact lens for my badminton a decade ago. It's very convenient and I like it. However, I stopped for a while due to budget. I tried again lately and I notice it no longer works like usual cos I have developed presbyopia. hahaha.... it's so so difficult to see after I have wore it especially when looking near and reading.

    1. What a bunch of bulls! You earn Sing dollars and got budget constraint! Adoi! We bloggers will start a Chris-Eye-Care foundation for you! LMAO!

I also wore contact lenses purely for swimming and badminton sessions during my early 20s. These days they have alien and weird colours of lenses that come in green and pink!! they look scary and I am not very sure whether they are safe to wear as I have read so many mixed reviews from eye specialists and opticians who debated!!

  47. Some experiences about LASIK which I heard from my colleagues-
The procedure is very fast and painless.
The doc will ask you to look at a red dot.
The red dot is actually the laser and you cannot look at it for too long.
    You will smell some burning
The whole procedure is very fast, like 15 mins. They said cannot do too long as your eyes will burn.

    1. I did that in on Day 7 Chinese New Year in 2014. My surgery took longer than 15minutes, because i had lazy eyes. Mine was a bit complicated case. I was scared too, but I wanted so much to do without glasses. Therefore I brave myself for LASIK.

So far, I have no regret. I feel so much convenient after the surgery. Perhaps, I need another surgery in future.

I still remember I lied on bed after the surgery. When I needed to go home, I need my husband to hold my hands to walk,as I couldn't open my swollen eyes at all. The tear kept running down from both my eyes. I had difficulty to open my eyes again in the next few hours after the surgery.

I reached home and lied on my bed for a few hours, then the next morning I felt so much better already. I went back to work after 2 days of resting only.

    2. What an interesting sharing! No 2 persons have the same results like I have mentioned. My sister's friend could get hers done at Mid Valley and drove back alone to Johor Bahru after the LASIK & some last minute shopping. My sister was more complicated can could not shop for shoes after 2 weeks as the colours were gaudy and misleading her! Muahahaha

I believe Thambee and Anay will someday sign up together to do LASIK! Both wanna look cantek and gaya!

You must be very youthful and young looking for the doctor to ask you to remove your glasses to read!!! Either doctor is blind or a good liar!! Muahahaha

    1. This so common with those in late 30s and early 40s! When I am browsing at supermarket shelves, I try not to bring the bottles closer to read! I just buy it and read at home to regret later! Muahahaha

During office meetings with my boss, I could read the minutes easily and my retarded boss was taken aback! He is younger but could not read. He didn't realise my special spectacle lenses! hihihihi

  50. Before LASIK, I had problem even reading my own handwriting on notebook. I had problem reading message on my phone, I had problem reading newspaper. Now, I am all ok. The best thing is I no need wearing glasses on my night tour on plane or bus. I no need taking along bottles of saline, contact lens, and glasses whenever I travel. So much easy for me now.

I have no regret for being painful for just a short while during the surgery.

    1. Thank you Mama Yannie for the valuable tips and feedback on LASIK so that Anay could plan to look handsomer or more Gayaish! (new word)

I might delay it to a later date when my pockets$$ holes are amended. I have a costly trip coming soon this Winter. Honestly, I am seeking the possibility of LASIK not for cosmetic reasons as I have way passed the Hot Age era. I am trying to be free from glasses! It is always light and free to go swimming and jogging without my glasses stooping lowly at my nose like a hamsap old man! I might get a slap buta buta someday from old spinsters for ogling at them! Wakakakaka

    2. I do agree it sound scary. I read the procedures and they need to do some 'cutting' or 'scraping' first on the surface or something... this is what prevent me from doing it. But then, i heard its painless but there's a recovery period.

    4. Holy Mary! Where did you hear about procedures of cutting and scraping the surface of the retina or cornea? OMG! You are good for instilling goose bumps to me! Argh!

I always thought it was a quick and painless sugery but now I heard of minimal 15 minutes plus burnt smoke smelling!!! Oh no, they just lost a potential customer! Bye bye cruel world!

    5. muahahaha... I read it leh ... from some pamplets. But yes, it's a painless procedure, that I agreed!!

  51. Doing LASIK is scary, no doubt. After that, you will have swollen eye lids and tear running down non stop for a few hours. You need to rest for a few hours on bed to rest the eyes. You will recover and have perfect eye sight on the next morning.

But, you must remember to wear sunglasses under day light after LASIK surgery.

    2. On many occasions, I saw LASIK patients wearing sunglasses for over a week during healing period. I always thought they wore them to hide the red blood shots like a vampire!

Today I learnt another new thing that the sunglasse was to shield and protect the healing eyeballs! Chris you also must not see hamsap things and sexy butts otherwise your power might shoot up to 1000 instead!

    3. TM - errr... don't say so loud la...muahahahha
Ok la.. my colleagues wore around 1-2 weeks after their Lasik surgery. However, they still wear it as a habit to protect their now precious eyes.
