06.11.2012 | 十步之差

[Volume 7 Issue 11, #1590]
was so thirsty yesterday on the way back, when i arrived at the station i quickly rushed to get some drinks.. and i supposed everyone is familiar with this convenience store, when you're in a station the first thing you can think of must be this store.. so i bought a can drinks at RM1.60, paid and had two sips when i saw 10 steps away, there was a vending machine selling canned drinks at RM1.00 each!! though it's just a few cents and i don't think the store has overcharged, why must i realized i've been such a fool just within 30 seconds after i have made the payment?? don't you think that was just too ironic, and also a little too cruel to me?? @#$%^&*!!

      Delete
    11. Muahahaha! The more vitamin C for the canned drinks at the news stand? What, the Myanmar shop keeper injects concentrated vitamin C into the drinks ka? LOL!

    2. When I go travelling I usually pack many bottles of mineral water bikes in my luggage. Sometimes I even brought concentrated Ribena along so that I don't need to buy drinks overseas when I was at remote places.

    3. Yiieer, annay has kiddo's tongue, likes the purple-colored fake-berries Ribena drinks. My mom made those drinks for me when I was young and refused to have plain water. My kids now refuse to drink Ribena because it tastes sourish, unless I pour less water (@.@)

    4. It is good to practise BYOB (Bring your own bottle, not boobs, TM). Because of my girls, I always bring 2 big water tumblers wherever I go.

If I am really thirsty, being a very cheapo person, I will only buy mineral water which cost RM1.00 only. I seldome buy can drink, because of its high sugar content.

      Delete
    5. Woiiiii who says Ribena is for kids?n It is for human beings! Now they start selling bottled Ribena at 7-Elevens/Vendors and most buyers are all adults.

      Delete
    6. Ribena had way too much sugar I never think of it as a healthy drink. (:

      Delete
    7. but I guess better Ribena than soft drink la, right?

      Delete
    8. Better opt for Milo drinks than Ribena, only big kids like annay and SP love high sugar content drinks. At night sure active - one starfishing whole night, another one whatsapping after midnight!

      Delete
    9. Wakakakaka this Ah Hua make me laugh!!! Pandai borak la Ah Hua!

      Delete
    10. errr...i like ribena better than Milo wor. WHen traveling especially in a car, I am less likely to vomit drinking ribena than drinking milo

  4. I meant you saved ten steps but spent 60 sen more.

  5. Morning, SK. Morning, HS...and everybody who will drop by later. Still raining a lot where you all are? Let us pray that God will show us His mercy - we definitely have had a bit too much rain already.

  6. Best to bring own water everywhere one goes. But watch out! Don't use those mineral water bottles - they say you keep in car under the hot sun...the heat will cause some chemical reaction to the plastic...and make the water unsafe for drinking.

    1. yes I heard that..
after you drink you will bleed and die at the spot..

    2. SP sure or not? Got shadow kah? . You must be kidding haha.

      Delete
    3. SP is exaggerating~

If that can work, I'll gonna poison the person I hate the most - the-you-know-whose-name-cant-be-spoken.... my Big Cheese! Even if he doesn't die immediately, I'll make sure his lifespan is shortened, muahahahaha!

*eh, I speak of my murder plan terang-terang here, if he really dies, then I would be the biggest suspect?

    4. OMG! This Ah Hua so evil hearted. I so scared to make her angry nanti kena cursed pula.

It is true that the plastic bottles will excrete out chemicals into the water and bring harm to our colons and stomach walls. How come this katak don't believe SP???

      Delete
    5. This Katak doesn't trust SP because he likes to create bombastic story to tipu little boys and girls.

"bleed and die at the spot"?? Yeah, right. Oh, does SP mean drink those for xx years already? Not one time drink and die? Sounds like SK's fairy tale about 2 naughty kids who died the very next day :p

      Delete
    6. sure or not ah, SP. So Kuah Cheong meh? drink and bleed and die on the spot.

  8. lol i remember the location..
is it the last station of the LRT?
Last time I take LRT until the last station and then take the bus to GENTING...
    HUAT ahhh

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You HUAT-ed or no? After HUAT-ed, you can come back to this station and buy dozens of the drinks, not from the vending machine, but from the convenience store -> to show that you are rich already, coming back from Genting, kakaka!

      Delete
    2. I prefer to get from store than from the machine. Never trust those machine.

      Delete
    3. Now I know this King Gambler SP will take LRT from his house until last stop to board the Genting bus!!!!

      Delete
    4. I thot of you win big in Genting, go back must at least take limo taxi one? Why nail LRT pulsk? :-D

      Delete
    5. I think SP's new nickname should be Ah Huat since he gambles so much!!

      Delete
    6. Cannot, Ah Huat is my brand of coffee now. I bought it at RM11.90. Nice.

      Delete
    7. My mrs bought Ah Huat coffee, three in one. Nowhere near our own Sibu coffee...but ok lah, 3 in one...very convenient.

      Delete
  9. SK Guess you have to switch to Ah Q spirit after hearing TM & Lina's comment by thinking you saved a ringgit cos the machine makan-ed your ringgit without any drink thus gotta buy at the store and in total spent RM2.60 instead some more add on the frustration lagi worst hehe.

    1. Ya la, I agree with bananaz. May be SK needing to pay more to the makan duit vending machine. Think positive, SK. Things aren't always what they seems.

      Delete
    2. sometimes the machine could get jammed and you have to pay double. Maybe it's best for you not to take the risk. If it's expired, you can't return it too.

      Delete
    3. Wenn is right also, perhaps the vending machine has slower turn over rate. So its drinks are mostly close to expiry date. Are you all here to make SK has Ah Q spirit.

May be SK's immediate response was swearing @#$%^&*. After he thought through, he would be fine for spending Rm0.60 extra.

SK, RM0.60 for learning to have Ah Q spirit, not bad wert!

  10. haha well we dont have much of that here in our place but i tried its actually a coffee vending machine

  11. i find those i buy on retail outlets more Convenient than that its cheaper and colder too

    ReplyDelete
  12. haha thats funny well that happens to me all the time not with the drinks though whenevr i buy an item soon ill see some cheaper yet the same item

    ReplyDelete
  13. well since that i canvas before i buy something but in your case canvasing was not an option at all hahaha i guess those vending machine must have some sort of standard retail price

    ReplyDelete
  14. But If i were you Ill probably do the same id rather be hungry than to be thirsty haha thirst is something i cant bare at all

    ReplyDelete
  15. have a great day and happy blogging to you sk god bless you and take care always

    ReplyDelete
  16. well, not much difference actually when you got it for your thirst. But how come it's so much cheaper at the machine? It must be almost expired as we usually put down the price when it's near expiry.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. but I thot vending machine technician needs to regularly service and stock up the machines one?

But of course, they may only come once in a while that's why we always see out of order machines not being serviced and repaired.

      Delete
    2. The machine technician will come and top up what ever drinks that is low and take the money mah. I dont think they will bother to check the expiry dates. Mana have time to check one by one leh. They have so many machines all over. If nasib tarak baik...buy expired drink lagi teruk liao.

      Delete
  17. Yeah.. I would feel shortchanged if I come across your case.. indirectly "tertipu-ed".... :)

    1. I would feel geram if I were SK. Because I am also a very jimat cermat person. Paying extra money for the same thing and I can get in just 10 steps forward is definitely not in my diary.

      Delete
  18. LOL! The difference is only 60 sen, not a few ringgit, so it's OK lah : D

    ReplyDelete
  19. But if me, I will still buy from the convenience store. Don't know why I don't trust vending machines LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  20. hahahah... i think you were just too thirsty to think... Well i wont wash my hands over this..coz some stores had fooled me couple dozens of times :P
    welcome to the club!

  23. Good day everyone

Hmm...sometimes it;s like that la. if leave to me, i would head on to the shop first . Of course think shop will be cheaper mah and most important is no need to dig coins

Those machines sometimes very sensitive one. Some accept coins only some accept notes and some say new coins and new notes not acceptable. So the foiirst thing i think of would be go store.

But 60 sen is a big difference leh. But maybe coz the shop needs to pay rental and pay staffs to jaga shop while the machine just leave it there kau tim.

makes me wonder if these machines needs to pay rental ka or how the thing works. They have to pay the building owner or the owner have to pay them

    1. I agree with Meow. It is less hassle to go to the shop and pay the money. I am not good in operating vending machine.

Talking about this, SK can operate vending machine but not washing vending. Weird.

  24. i would felt sakit hati just like you too....even amount is small, but i sayang my duit. Every cents counts. haha..

    1. but then again, i dun usually trust vending machine. What if it makan duit ? What if the drink already expired ? What if ........ ? Better buy from convenience store. haha

    2. since you have a bag, next time bring your own water. Healthier and can save those extra money.
