    5. Now your father should be thankful that your mother feeds that aging bananas to him. It has more hidden nutrients inside to keep him supple and healthier. Next time your mummy might fight with him for the black bananas after you share its hidden benefits with him.

    6. actually for the nutella, i think it would be nicer to also mix in with milk, then shake shake shake, and i guess it would end up to be a very delicious hazelnut chocolate milk!! i will do that one day~~

as for the cupcakes, i also don't like the cream, haha.. and i actually will prefer those sliced cheesecake than cupcakes..

oh yeah, i learn something new from the banana thing.. will definitely do this next time already..

Usually if I buy bananas, we will makesure to finish it by the next day, or next next day, no more than that, coz they will turn back.. Else, I put it in fridge lor.. But they still turn black and soft anyway.. So this video really teach me a new thing today.. Like like like..

    4. #4 – Nice !! No need ice cream maker jor.. But hor, if me, I will just make a cup of Milook ice on a hot day, then can drink immediately.. But this ice cream thing hor, interesting leh, especially if you put lots of salt inside the ice, then shake the milk thingy.. Wait, by the way, Half & Half is milk? Or a brand? Call me jakun.. Milk + Sugar hor?

      Delete
    5. Good morning Princess Ribbon. I was a Jakun too when I first flew United Airlines and grandma air hostess asked me - Sir would u want coffee with lights? I was blank and stared at her wrinkles & asked what lights? She replied Half & Half.
Oh dear, I went deeper into confusion. Most of them dont use the word milk at all. They have the habit to refer the famous brand Half & Half as milk instead.
They would laugh when I say I walked along the streets or roads! Police would arrest you for walking on the streets meant for cars. They only walk along avenues and boulevards! Funny peeps!

      Delete
    6. Oh, now I get it! Half & Half is milk. Just like when we say colgate, we mean toothpaste. ***slap forehead***

    7. Thanks for telling me, Half & Half is milk, duh...

      Delete
    8. #1.. errr, i also just use spoon to korek until almost clean, but never thought of the ice-cream thing.. but then, i think pour in milk and then shake shake shake, and end up with chocolate milk will be a better idea

#2.. haha, okay lah.. actually when i'm eating biscuits hor, i also eat the biscuit and cream separately sometimes, like that seems like nicer, haha!!

#3.. actually lots of video clips and ideas from youtube that i find very smart, here are just a few only..

#4.. hahaha.. actually i will be too lazy to do all that lah.. either just don't eat or go out to buy some ice-cream lor.. or maybe do that to sengaja wanna tipu the kids only :p

    9. i learn something new from anay today leh...Coffee with lights? LOL...i would be puzzle huh?/ lights? means reading lights ah....so that i can enjoy reading books with coffee?

ahem ahem....walking the street have a double meaning leh...can also mean as hookers/ayam/prostitutes. :p

  3. I think it is worthwhile spending your bored time to watch youtube and find out nice surprises and new ideas to remember and keep you watching for more. Thank you for sharing those video clips and may you have a good weekend too.

Let me answer the 4 questions before watching the clips.
    1. I use the Nutella jar and paint it to be a pretty pencils container or vase.
    2. I do not like those with cream toppings. I enjoy eating cupcakes with a cup of hot soymilk by infusing the soymilk into the cupcakes and feeling the cupcakes melt in my mouth.
    3. Make banana cakes.
    4. Just put a cup of soymilk into the freezer and smashed it all up to be ice blended soymilk before it turned into an ice block.
    Now I watch the clips:
Looks like I misunderstood most of the points.
    1. Finished Nutella Jar but still got leftovers so eat with ice cream. I thought the Nutella Jar is totally finished. Usually I wipe the jam or peanut butter or Nutella Jar will bread and when I say finished it really means finished, not a spot left.
    2. Since I do not like the cream, I will not be eating the cream sandwiched in between like that.
    3. I thought the bananas are already riped. Not how to keep the bananas from turning ripe by wrapping it with plastics.
    4. Wah, this one is so much work! Did not know it means when a freezer is not available. if freezer not available, then ice also may not be available. What is "Half & half" - one of the items in the ingredients? Won't be doing this because it is really using too much resources just to get a little ice cream although I do agree that scientifically this is a bright and smart idea but not feasible in terms of resources - costs and time. May just tahan and not eat any ice cream in that situation.

    1. 1.. i think would be a nicer idea to pour in hot milk and then shake shake shake, then i got hot chocolate!! hehe..

2.. i also don't like the cream, but if it comes with cream, i won't throw the cream away also lah.. so this may be a good idea to polish the cupcake clean..

3.. i think bananas will continue to get more rippen and rot even if they are already ripe..

4.. yes, troublesome but i guess if we are going to impress others with a little "magic", this will do the trick.. just have some fun, then life is less dull and dry.. :)

      Delete
    2. mun, half & half is milk, I also learn it today when seeing PH's comment above, hehe! Ya ho, most people think it's troublesome to do this ice cream, see the video, lasted for 40 seconds, the longest among the 4, so means it contains more works... Better go buy the ready made one, kaotim! :p

  4. Finally I managed to watch all your YouTubes without any glitch. Either my Ipad was faulty or the YouTube uploads are not suitable for iPad. Never mind, I have enjoyed watching them all in my office PC. It was a good eye opener and no wonder Thambee is always so smart and cleber after watching so many brilliant shows.

    1. 1. I never bought a jar of Nutella myself except ate them at hotel's breakfast buffets. That was a smart idea to learn and I can do the same into fruit jam bottles or even kaya bottles! Just throw in ice cream and scoop the yummy dollops into my mouth!! I might see heavens and fairies!

      Delete
    2. 2. Why throw away or avoid the cheesy creams on cup cakes? They are the boosters that make cup cakes taste better. Of course, I loathed the hard icing in rainbow colours ~ TOO SWEET!!

I prefer to eat those special cup cakes where the chefs have injected the creams inside and not visible from outside. It sounds like Hokkaido Cup Cakes.

      Delete
    3. 3. Oh My Mama!!! I never knew that bananas would turn black because of the air that seeped into the stems!! I always thought it was a due to the heat in the air as the bananas do not ripen so fast during winters! It must be their cold and minimal humidity that slowed the aging process like bodies being kept frozen in the morgues! This banana preservation theory is big news to me! I must try this!

Recently it was reported again in health digests that bananas with more black spots and patches are not rotten but contain higher nutrients inside! This is what I heard according to Japanese Scientific Research, full ripe banana with dark patches on yellow skin produces a substance called TNF (Tumor Necrosis Factor) which has the ability to combat abnormal cells. The more darker patches it has the higher will be its immunity enhancement quality; Hence, the riper the banana the better the anti-cancer quality. Yellow skin banana with dark spots on it is 8x more effective in enhancing the property of white blood cells than green skin version. Go eat 3-4 dark pisangs everyday!!

      Delete
    4. 4. This one is macam magic show to me! I find that interesting to make ice cream when on camping trips. Right now, I have a freezer and ice cream maker at home so it would be silly for me to try this brilliant method! I should entertain the kids with this if their mommies hire me to be a clown at the kiddo birthday parties!!

      Delete
    5. 1.. i will actually pour in hot milk into the jar instead of ice-cream.. shake shake shake, and i guess it would be nice to have hot chocolate (with a hint of hazelnut) instead.. :)

2.. yeah!! if it comes that way, just eat it!! don't waste the food..

3.. oh yeah, i have heard that the dark spots on bananas are actually the better thing, haha!! :p

4.. yeah, this "magic" is just to have some fun especially to tipu kids.. but if you really want me to do that, errr, i rather just forget about ice-cream for the time being :D

      Delete
    6. How can iPad cannot play Youtube more that 3 seconds? Maybe your setting kot? My friend syok syok play youtube in her iPad leh.

Same here, Anay.Have never bought Nutella before unless you mean those tiny school size one that they use to provide the long stick of biscuit to eat with punya la.

Hmmm....based on what you describe....wa..put ice cream into jam jar very nice leh. Think will taste better than put nutella. J will sure ,ove it. But I seldom use jam. Buy one jhar of jam will leave in the fridge till it tumbuh cendawan. I wonder if Youtube have any remedy on how to use the cendawan jam or not LOL.

      Delete
    7. aiyo those hard topping on the cupcakes are PURE sugar la. That is why i so scare to eat that . so much sugar intake. Some more it's full of colorings. Look nice lah but eat...haiz.... even J also wont eat much of that

But if cream...he will eat and eat....eat the cream and not the cupcake. Me pulak not into cream...guess J will untung lo coz he gets to eat the cream

      Delete
    8. I saw in FB posting that wrapping the stem with clinging wrap will slow down the process of over ripe banana. Tried once. Take jadi. Maybe I wrap wrongly kot. LOL

Anyway..black or what...can make into ice cream la.

But i usually bhuy small sikat of banana la. If no small sikat then tarak buy lo. now banana damn expensive.

      Delete
    9. haha.. maybe when you tell Kaldip about this trick, he will apply on the caramel you bought from hometown dei.. i also don't fancy those toppings lah, be it icing or cream.. little bit can lah, but then too much will be very yucky leh.. oh, the wrapping banana stem tarak work ah?? eih.. i just bought a sikat and i should try this..

      Delete
    10. That caramel memang to eat with ice cream. Good idea wor...now if the caramel container near empty liao...i can put ice cream into it and eat like that....or maybe pour coffee into the jar., That caramel goes will with coffee leh....same like your pouring milk into the jar lor

      Delete
  5. I usually go to Youtube and watch baking and cooking videos. That's how I learnt how to bake!

    3. yes, i learn a lot from youtube clips actually..

      Delete
  6. The first video on Nutella - I just use a teaspoon to korek-korek whatever that is still sticking to the bottle. After that use finger to korek some more. Maybe I can put my banana ice-cream in the bottle next time, hor?

    1. You know, I came across a gadget that is used for scrapping bottles so that you can get every bit of Nutella or peanut butter or mayonnaise and can scrape the bottle clean. It has a handle and a piece of rubber at the end.

      Delete
    2. For other products like tomato/chilli sauce, I just pour some vinegar or lemon juice into the bottle and shake to get as much out as possible.

      Delete
    3. And you know for toothpaste, there is also a gadget that can roll and press the toothpaste right to the last bit. Very good for kiamsiap people like this auntie.

      Delete
    4. actually i have a better idea.. instead of chocolate that you may still need to korek.. i think pour in hot milk, shake shake shake and make the nutella dissolve into the milk.. voila, you have hot chocolate in the end.. :)

      Delete
    5. nutella goes wll with banan ice cream ka? Thought vanilla ice cream will be better .

hahaha the tomato sauce one...usuall at the very end, will us to make the sauce for spaghetti or maybe masak sweet sour meat.

Yup...that toothpaste gadget saw before but tarak buy. think it was very cheap. saw being sold in pasal malam but then maybe fake one la

      Delete
    6. i know nutella goes well with banana lah, but i have not eaten banana ice-cream before leh.. haha!! actually the safer choice would be to use vanilla ice-cream lor..

      Delete
  7. The second video on the cupcake - that one I won't do lah because why spoil the pretty cupcake? If I was the one who baked the cupcake and piped the nice cream on top, I will scream of someone kiap the deco like sandwich hah...hah...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anyway, having said that, I don't really like icing. The icing looks pretty only but I don't like to eat it.

      Delete
    2. hahaha.. who knows maybe the cupcake tastes even better when we kiap the cream like sandwich??

      Delete
    3. but but cupcakes are made to be eaten wor...how....if tarak kiap...then wasted the cupcake lo

      Delete
    4. this blur Small Kucing.. we are talking about cutting the cupcake (the cake part) into half, and then use them to kiap the cream topping like a sandwich, so that its easier and neater to eat..

      Delete
    5. tu la pasal tarak internet speed to see the video. sekap jarang punya pasal

      Delete
  8. The third video - now I understand why if I cut off the bananas individually, they stay fresh longer.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I noted that if the bananas are left intact with the stem, it is the stem that goes black first. With that observation, I usually cut off the stem to slow down the browning. But sometimes I forget and end up with overripe bananas.

      Delete
    2. Do you know that you can keep bananas in the fridge? I saw that once on TV where Nigella Lawson took a banana out from her fridge. My first thought was that this angmoh very siow one. Where got people put banana in the fridge?

      Delete
    3. I tried it recently out of desperation because my bananas were ripening and I could only bake during weekend. I kept it in a plastic bag and after 2 days the skin turned brown. But surprisingly on day 4 when I peeled the skin, the banana inside was still fresh!

      Delete
    4. But please ah, if want to keep in the fridge, the banana must be ripe already. If still not that ripe, it will not ripen further in the fridge.

      Delete
    5. And of course, you can freeze bananas. But don't keep for too long as it will turn brown eventually and taste yucky.

      Delete
    6. hmmm.. i think the fridge is a place we can keep things fresher for a long period.. so not surprising that hear about keeping bananas in the fridge, haha.. and do you know you can actually keep your potato chips in the fridge to keep it fresh and not "lao hong" even if you did not seal it?? i do that~~ actually potato chips very heaty, so eating them chilled reduces the heat :D

      Delete
    7. Oh really??? I must try keeping potato chips in the fridge!

      Delete
    8. hah? Potatoes chips can put in the fridge ka? I thoight if put in the fridge then come out will be lembik and not nice to eat.

      Delete
    9. ya woh, i keep potato chips ah, o-ya ah, twisties ah etc in the fridge one woh, no need to seal also can and won't "lao foong" leh.. but of course better to seal lah, else your whole fridge also smells like the snacks.. same to biscuits.. :D

      Delete
  9. The fourth video - making ice cream, err...I am not convinced that the ice cream would be nice. Possibly it is lumpy and has icicles. This one I think is more of an idea but the end result is not that great. Good for science experiment only.

    1. haha, i would agree that this is just for fun, especially if you have kids around and you want to show them some "magic".. or maybe in a party, to impress your guests.. else if me alone, forget it lah :D

    4. I seldom go Youtube too unless I need some informations on something, I think my son goes Youtube more often, haha! He watches those nursery songs, some Korean animation (yes Korean one some more >.<), Upin Ipin, Boboboi, and trucks video.

      Delete
  12. Yes, sometimes when I'm bored, I might go to youtube too. But I haven't come across the ones that you showed us.

Nutella with ice-cream..not a bad idea. Usually I would scrap it clean. Otherwise I would use a piece of bread to wipe the nutella..

If one likes the cream, it's a good idea to turn the cup-cake into burger like. But I don't think I will eat the cup-cake this way. I might just omit the cream.

I use to buy bananas too but we have to finish it fast. Otherwise, the skin will turn black. Oh, that is a good idea. Just wrap the ends of those bananas.

True, making ice-cream is interesting but I guess it's a little too troublesome. Just buy a tub of ice-cream from the store and keep it in the ice-box. Can hv ice-cream whenever I feel like it without any hassle.

3.. yeah, i will do this next time if i find my bananas ripe too fast..

4.. i agree too it's a little troublesome.. but probably just for fun and to impress kids with "magic" :D

    1. ice-cream is a nice idea.. and if you want something hot, pour in hot milk, shake shake shake and you get hot chocolate!! way cleaner than ice-cream since the nutella can completely dissolve into the hot milk :)

    2. Waaah! Waaah! Another brilliant idea to pour in Hot Milk instead of ice cream! That would be an ideal drink for me! What else could we do to clean the bottles and yet edible?

    3. i actually find the hot milk trick better than ice-cream.. with ice-cream still need to korek korek, but with hot milk, all dissolved and you do nothing.. :p

Some day we should post into YouTubes how SK had designed his blog HTMLs to tease the readers with pop up shows, slides and buttons to play. SK is very brilliant and talented! Hip Hip Hooray!

    1. eih, you can teach your children to do that also, i am sure they will love eating cupcakes this way :D

      Delete
    2. Eating cupcakes is just like eating ordinary cakes being baked inside paper cups! no difference in taste except that chefs tend to smear special icings or creams on top of cup cakes to boost the texture and flavours. Some experts would use white creams and fresh fruits to create new names and so forth Pavlova etc.

      Delete
    3. errr, but i think the cream/icing ratio of cupcakes is way higher than that of a normal cake?? am i right?? oh, Pavlova, i actually prefer the cakes more~~ :p

  19. Me no problems with the bananas.... Usually finished in 2 days for a bunch. Of course, I buy the long long type (del monte...etc) with a new slices only. Good to keep me full at night without going for snacks or supper , as well as a great snack before a workout.

    1. it's just a great idea if you cannot finish your bananas and they are getting too ripe.. so you can finish one whole hand of bananas in two days alone??

      Delete
    2. his one whole hand of banana could be only 4 or 5 pieces only leh. That one sure can finish la. Some are like 20 banana in a hand. that one eat till lausai lor .

My side if kaldip is around then sure can finish the banana. but if not....sure masuk freezer. Myself i dare not eat a lot coz banana have a lot of wind.

      Delete
    3. I never liked to eat bananas when they are over riped and have darkened skins. My friend loves this over riped stage and tossed them into blended to make fruity juice. So geli and bluek.

    4. i am actually not a big fans of bananas.. haha, lots of wind if eat too much?? but i know sure helps the bowel movement a lot lah, hehehehe~~

    1. if for yourself only, i also agree it is too troublesome.. but if you are going to impress your kids with some "magic", i am sure it will be fun and they are going to love it :)

    2. sometimes when school holiday and the kid is bored , can do this magic la. it's like a project to be done together. Happy family time mah

      Delete
    3. Yup! It could be troublesome and messy but it taught me how it could be done in case my fridge had broken down.

Definitely a trick to teach Chris to be a stand up Kurage comedian and magician to entertain his kids. Kudos Chris! Muahahaha

      Delete
    4. yeah, it could be messy and troublesome, but i think this is indeed a very educational type of experiment we can show the kids leh.. can also involve the kids and that is a good bonding session..

Nutella ah....eh....not those squeeze out punya right...if in a jar punya...i will go buy those long stick biscuits and korek korek it to eat till finish. Nutella not cheap leh. cannot waste even a drop leh

    1. Nutella is not a cheap indulgence due to the import duties. So many replicas and nutty fakes are available on the shelves. I never knew how to clean the jars empty and clean until I read SK's post of brilliant ideas.

      Delete
    2. yeah, i would have opted for the cheaper local versions of "nutella" instead.. afterall, me not really particular on what jam i have lah.. spread on my bread, got a little taste then i'm fine..

      Delete
  24. cupcakes ah..shhh shhh ..i like cupcakes but not really like the topping leh....unless homemade la ...home made less sugar but no matter how much less sugar there will need quite a lot of sugar to create the topping leh

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I only love those cupcake toppings that use cheese base and not those hard frozen icings that tasted like sweet cement sheets! Bluek!
A good cupcake should be eaten with frothy soft creams on top and drink with Earl Grey Tea. That's the real English style of fine afternoon tea sessions at the coffee table served with Royal Albert's china ware and a silly muted poodle sitting on your lap. LOL

      Delete
    2. i also don't like the topping, be it icing or cream.. little bit is okay for me lah, but then if too much then will become jelak and yucky leh.. maybe this way of sandwiching the cream will be nice..

eih, those English afternoon tea uses high class clotted cream and fruit preserved leh.. and i remember it's the signature scones instead of cupcakes lah, hahaha!!

  25. Banana...hahaha this one i know ....
freeze them and make into the original banana ice cream using my ice cream maker. Best sekali. no extra sugar and no need a lot of work. just nice for hot weather like this. And banana is very sweet leh/

Many will goreng it but shh shh....shy to say i still cant master how to make the batter for the fried banana la. Mine come out so much flour till i give up. I know i know in super market can buy the pre packed batter but i kedekut to buy ma

Another idea for banana is...hmm...make banana cake or muffins lo like what Phong Hong make. Hahaha saw her Banana Cheese Cake post?

Eh the banana skin dont throwaway leh. Can reuse...throw into the baja bin for the garden. The plant will be very happy leh.

    1. Good idea! You should put a post in your blog and ask everyone to save banana skins for your Green Garden Projects. How should we send the skins to you? By mail?

SK was trying to tell people how to preserve the bananas from fast ripening but you are telling people to make ice creams and fry them! Adoi, potong markah.

      Delete
    2. if bananas are fresh, of course just eat it like that lah.. those over-ripe or almost rotting one, best to use to make cakes and desserts huh?? oooh, the banana skin, make sure you don't accidentally ditched them on the road when you are throwing them into the garden, sekali Bananaz goes to visit you and he fell stepping on the banana skin, hahaha!! :D

  29. SK, I was so late to this post, I viewed it last week actually, but I was too busy with GST implementation and other jobs. No time to leave comments at all. If I have time also I paiseh to browse internet because all my peers are so busy with GST.
I am very tempted to watch the all the videos you share here. But I haven’t watched any of them yet. I kept forgetting when I was at home. In the office, the youtube is blocked .
Anyway, I still can comment something related to you topic.
    1. I may pour in some warm water to melt all the left over Nutella. Then I will use it to make cupcakes.
    2. I eat cupcakes, but I don’t like cupcakes with cream topping. If I have one with cream topping, I may use spoon to scoop the cream with cake and eat it.
    3. This is super easy, there are too many things I can do with over ripe bananas. I can make them into pancakes, cupcakes, huat kuih and bread.
    4. This one I really need to watch the video, I have no idea on the magic. I must remember to watch tonight.
Thanks SK for sharing all these videos.

  30. Oh, you will go Youtube when you're free? Me seldom, unless if I have certain things I want to find out... Else, most of my surfing time are for blogs, Whatsapp, WeChat, Instagram and Facebook, wahaha!

Anyway, I must say Youtube is such a great channel, so many interesting and useful ideas there right? Like these few that you shared, I like them, short and useful. I don't like watching long videos, just don't have the patience, hehe, and if a video is too long, I will usually fast forward it.

First one, wow, never thought of that! Actually not just Nutella, applies to other jam too, like peanut or strawberry jam!

Cupcakes, hmm me no issue with that, cause I am a cake lover, any ways also I will enjoy them. But usually I don't finish all the cream topping, very fattening ma! I will just have some then scrap the rest to the side, then finish the cake.

The banana tricks, yes macam saw this tips before, very useful hor? Like that won't waste the bananas.. But this case hardly happen to me, I mean at my in laws place... Cause total 6 of us here, plus Aden is 7, usually can finish the whole thing within 2 days, since all of us love bananas.

Last but not least, ice cream making, erm looks a bit difficult, like need prepare lots of things, better go buy the ready made one la! Haha!
