you turned on your PC or holding your handheld gadgets, went into Facelook, and then you start scrolling and clicking LIKE.. something so routine and you are doing this without realizing how many status, photos, videos, comments or shared links you have LIKEd on Facelook.. i actually find that the LIKE on Facelook has way been misused nowadays, it may just mean 1001 other things but like!! one good example you may have seen is, some morons LIKEd a status of their friend who reported sickness or accident etc, how the @#$%^%& right?? i do not know how you will agree with me, but i conclude that a LIKE on Facelook may just mean:-

    6. Qing Ming season sure rain one lah.. but then rain also cannot exempt us from the water rationing exercise.. haiz!! maybe when Putrajaya is flooded then means all the rivers and dams are perfectly filled up to continue supplying us water without interruption??

    7. Yep, weird but it's true, Qing Ming season sure rain.. That's why have to wear sport shoes during tomb sweeping, cause might find leeches everywhere!
I think newspaper reported that if got continous rain then water rationing won't be happening? But then, look at what happen now!!

  2. Morning morning.. Oohh, today is about this “like” thingy ahh? Is there any “hate” button, hehe.. I come in to comment first before starting my work.. It’s Monday today, and the bosses are here, so I will make this fast..

    ReplyDelete

    1. Actually leh, if people don’t misuse this “like” button, it’s very nice to use geh.. I always use this “like” button when I’m lazy to comment or can’t think of things to say..

A friend recently posted in FB that her baby’s finally here.. What? I don’t even know she’s pregnant! I ask some close friends (of hers), and they also said don’t know she’s even pregnant.. Some people just want to be weird and keep it as a secret until the baby pops.. So when she posted this statement in FB, I jusr click “like” and commented a “Congrats” lor..

      Delete
    2. I remembered another college friend posted this “Why is the clock ticking so slowly, can’t wait”..

So I scrolled down to read the comments.. Oh, rupanyer he is in the labour room, waiting for his wife to deliver.. And you know what? I didn’t even know he is married! I was about to comment this “What? I don’t even know you’ve married”.. But I stopped, and deleted of course..

So ended up, I just click the “like” button.. I don’t even wana click actually, but aii, nevermind la, no harm to just click it.. I mean, we were quite close during college days, but most went on separate ways after graduation.. And now, his wife is about to deliver, and we (all) don’t even know he already married..

    3. Last week, my colleague started her online business using FB.. She was telling me for one month already, and finally, she set up her FB specially for her online collections.. When she has uploaded photos in her FB, I just click “like” lor, just to support her.. I didn’t comment anything, coz I’m not interested in the clothes she’s selling, teehee, so I just click “like” lor, to give face a bit.. So again, the “like” button is quite ok to be used here..

      Delete
    4. My sister uploads pictures in FB very often.. I would say every week, or every other day..

To be honest, sometimes I don’t know what else to comment if she keeps on uploading pictures everyday.. Yes, sometimes everyday.. Then she stops for a while and only upload once every few days.. So, I don’t know what to comment, I just click “like” lor..

To be honest, sometimes very sien one la, you see your friend upload picture in FB everyday, like nothing to do only.. So, to give face and show face, just click “like”, I think ok jugak la..

      Delete
    5. So leh, the “like” button, errr, is quite useful also geh if it’s not misused la, like you said..

Ok, back to work sin.. I come back later ok..

    6. Good Morning Princess Ribbon.... where is the huge ribbon on your head?

I wish the Facebook and Blogs could add buttons like - I Dislike, I Hate and I Want!

      Delete
    7. I also hope the blogs would have buttons like "Go Eat Shit" or "Shut Up Asshole".... Sure one blogger will kena from me!!! Muahahahaha

      Delete
    8. Why? The person post something very bad? why have to ask him/her to go eat shit?

      Delete
    9. Comment section has been misused also...

Of course everyone has their own perogative but sometimes some people don't use common sense.

and some, really really revel in their lack of common sense. bwahaha

    10. Hello all.. After lunch liao, sik dou bao bao (tummy full), so I come inside my virtual kopitiam to checkout the comments..

Oh, to answer you foremost question, my ribbons all kena gagged in you all punyer mouths liao ma.. So I have none now.. Almost all my ribbons have been used to gag you all punyer mouth, and campak you all in jamban, remember? So all my ribbons have been sent to the dobi for washing.. And kebetulan now is water rationing period, so my ribbons have not been sent back to me..

Ok, back to the topic today.. Later you all say I bring you all go Holland, but I still know how to come back to the topic, don’t worry..

Wah, TM, you really never fail to make me laugh ya know? Until today.. I keep laughing now at your “Go Eat Shit” or “Shut Up Asshole” statement.. You forgot about “Go Burn In Hell” or “You Are A Bimbo”.. Ooops, sorry, don’t mean to join the “CB aka chou lou” statements, but I really can’t help laughing now..

But thinking back, if really blogs have “Go To Hell” or “Eat You Shit” button, if you click it, wah, then that person ma very malu lor? I am imagining myself wor, if you really click on “Shut Up Asshole” or put this statement in my blog, then I ma very malu.. Hahahaha, good for laughs, but I certainly don’t want all these funny CB statements in my blog la..

      Delete
    11. I need to rant a bit.. Sorry.. Thanks SK for providing a kopitiam space for me to rant.. You all like to read, can read.. Don’t like to read, no need read lah, can skip my comment and go read others punyer comment.. Although this is not my blog, but I still wana say: My thread, my comment, my like, my sukak! Ok, I know sure you all will say I’m dragging the length and trying to talk grandma stories to earn points..

      Ok, rant, here I come..

Guess how much I paid for lunch today? RM43 !! Yep, freaking RM43 !! I was posting about lunch box and bringing food from home in my blog, and now, I’m eating out pulak and paying RM43 !! Ok, let me explain.. It was for a colleague’s farewell la.. There were 9 of us (including him), total bill RM342/-. So if divided by 8 will be RM43 per person lor.. We went to “kiu soong”, and some idiots (simply) order fish.. Didn’t know what fish they were ordering, ended up, being “potong” by the boss who recommend this fish and that fish.. Maybe to most of you, RM43 is cheap (for a farewell of a colleague and also for 8 person to share), but for me, wah, I “mm seh tak” la.. No no no, not becoz I’m kedekut la.. But becoz I’m not very close to this colleague only, so-so only, no very deep “kam ching” yet, so to pay RM43 for him is like, errr, not very worth it leh..

      Ok, end of rant..

It’s kinda related to this topic also.. if there’s a “Feels Like A Bad Hair Day” or “I’ve Overspent On Lunch” or “Wtf, RM43 For Lunch For A Bimbo?” button, then I would have hit it, kekeke..

    12. very true lah, sometimes really do not know what to comment but this LIKE is very useful to let the friend know we kind of agree or acknowledge or support or whatever thing lah.. usually when friends post newborn baby, i also LIKE and then comment to congratulate lah.. but guilty as charged, last time i only LIKE when i like, but nowadays it's a mixture of the above factors i've mentioned in the post, hahaha!!

give me five Princess Ribbon on your comment on those who have photos to post every minute/hour/day.. and i do agree that is sometimes quite irritating lah, if your photo is nice and you have got a catchy description to go with it, then i would welcome those.. but those who just post something so common, nothing special at all, only they think nice, or those who post a photo which has nothing to do with their words at all (eg: a photo of a burger and some writing about motivation and inspiration of life),l please lah..

and i heard rumours that FB is going to extend the LIKE button to have more things like agree, support, dislike etc.. which i think is pretty appropriate since so many people are lazy to comment but just abuse the usage of the LIKE button.. and comments also some people abuse lah.. especially those who advertise using the comments, and those bitchy drama queen fighting using the comments, haiz!! come on lah, be a human!!

    13. I also wonder is there a hate button? I know Youtube got but Facebook macam tak da la! If got sure very useful also~ I'll use it a lot, more than 'like' perhaps!
Don't you guys think there're many inconsiderate people out there who simply share and post thing in Facebook and other media sites? You know, there's a mummy group in Facebook, and in this group sure got pregnant mummies and young mummies , but sometimes some people really don't care and share those disgusting photos/videos which will make people puke! Really beh tahan them! I know la may be they just wanna spread the thing to create awareness but they should have think twice before clicking share, that's a public group not private group ma!

How I wish at this situation, there's a hate button so that people like me can click hate to let that person knows how much we hated that post!!

      Delete
    14. yeah, sometimes i wish to have more buttons to choose.. but then i guess now the best thing to express your thoughts is through commenting.. LIKE is just for the lazy people, haha!! :D

      Delete
    15. SK, haha yea, like is the easiest and fastest way but cannot express much of our feelings and thoughts, still have to go the traditional by giving comments~
I wanna add on, 'LIKE is just for the lazy and busy people' ;))

      Delete
    16. LOL...bagus jugak you think 2-3 times before you like. Those general comments like My baby is here can be very misleading leh. The word baby may mean "Car" "laptop" "Handphone" or whatever they buy.

Nanti say congratulation on your newborn will kena kao kao pulak. malu besar lor.

    17. Online busines ask us to LIKE a page is ok. But then some very irritating one. Kept tagging you with their product. alo...i already like you page. If i want the product i will go and buy from you la. you dont have to tag me right? Agree or not?

I feel like those people are using me....coz when they tagged me, my friends in FB will see it in my wall too, right? It's like free advertisemen for them. Not good la using friends and relatives like that.

In that case i will untagged myself from the photos. If I did that a few times and the fella still doesn't realise it, i will UNLIKE that page.

    18. Same here too, Anay...I wish Facebook can add I DISLIKE and I WANt. But I will stop at the word I HATE la. Coz i still remember my teacher once said HATE is a strong word. We must not use it carelessly.

Nowadays people ike to say I hate this I hate that those actualy it's they meant they dislike.

wah anay...my comments very mild only wor....please don't ask me "Go Eat Shit" or "Shut Up Asshole". leh...kekekeke.

Xiao Ying...you too innocent la...now so many crazy stalker in FB and Blog leh. me also got one stalker from Assie leh bitchtrix. That BXXXX always leave offensive comments in my blog. Now i pandai jor. See name aje. No need read her comment. I just press spam and delete it off.

    21. Agree with Hayley. Yeah there are some who go and pos disgusting photos and video..and there are those who LIKE those photos and video. Die not die leh?

Got one friend kept sharing porno in FB. I deleted jor from my friend list.,

Baru last week a couple of school friend kept sharing a video of a couple having rough sex and fell off building and died. naked some more leh.

Come on la. They died already. Give some respect la. why wanna share their video on such gory death?

Saw in STP FB...got one of his friend passaway in an accident. then someone who were there shared the photo of the accident. It's so disrespectful,

In such instances i think it is something not right when someone goes and LIKE the photos and video lor.

But then again..,maybe am old fashion la

    23. there is always lazy people and no busy people lah.. a busy person, if he/she wants to do something, he/she sure will find way to do it.. it's just the laziness that makes us missed out doing things, busy is just an excuse.. if you have time to surf Facebook, then you are not busy at all :p

and yes, hate those unclear and trying to be mystery and want friends to guess kind of comments.. sorry ah, i sure skip those and not even want to LIKE, if want to tell, please tell direct and clear.. and about those photo tagging, yes, i hate those a lot.. and tell you what, i actually will report them as spam when i see my friend being tagged in commercial products or photos by those commercial page, haha!! and those who love to tag friends in food photos, come on, there isn't a single face seen there, are your friends the chicken rice, the macaroon, the BKT, the cheesecake, the ice cream, the chocolates etc that you have eaten into stomach?? nonsense..

    24. I used to have a friend always like to comment in a weird way like what you so good one, always go travel around? Why this and why that!!! Felt so annoying, until one day I fed up I just block her means that she can't see any if my updates, but later I feel bad so I remove it, so I set the privacy, only certain people can see my updates, then after one or two months I'll reset the privacy to public but even so it won't appear on news feed so no one will know about it, unless really that's someone purposely go to my page to check up certainly la!!!

    1. I always check Watsap first thing in the morning as I have both important and irritating people inside them who could be ranting and whining away. Next would be my emails. Others come in later especially Facebook and instagram would be last.

    2. My sequence would be :
      1. Own blog since I do update it almost daily
      2. FB
      3. Whatsapp

email only after I drink coffee. Not high on my list since money-making emails won't come so early in the morning! Bwahaha

    3. Lina you are funny and cute with your routine. Emails are often important to me with scary messages and news sometimes from everywhere. It is tough for me to update my blogs daily but i believe nothing is impossible in life when I still have 2 hands and 2 legs! I will try!

    4. errr, facebook would be the last for me actually, sometimes i don't even care to look at facebook at all.. my priority is my own blog, then other blogs and then whatsapp.. and also my Minion Rush, i just have to play it everyday to collect the daily gifts and win the daily challenges!! hahahaha~~ :D

    5. Same with TM, email is very important to me, all updates, comments, works, news, everything will be in my email...I'll feel like get isolated without my email!!! Whats app second, I always just look at the notifications only was thinking to reply later, but I always forgot then got scold by my sister always ignoring her reply...For FB, I just check once notifications pop up, hardly go through the news feed la..coz argh......my fb has a lot of couples, always show very sweet sweet stuffs, sweet sweet gifts, is not good to see so much of it for such a single lady like me!!! Hehe!!!

You really like the Minion Rush, I remember I used to like that when I was playing the Subway Surf, but I just maintain for few days then forgot about it already...damn impatient...

I'm one of those annoying ppl who upload photos and update status regularly regardless whether ppl wantbto read or not.

That's why I cannot complain abt what others do. There's a malay saying that goes "cermin duĺu diri sendiri". Look unto thyself before thy judge others.

I think Ah Boy is a believer in this. After all, he has been really patient with the nonsense being ranted here esp those that we put syiok sendiri n not conducive for discussion. Bwahaha

  4. Frankly , I would prefer twitter more as there are more bits and pieces of news to read as well as from other remote sources. Those twitter accounts just re - tweeted it for sharing. There's lots of news unseen on national news especially on latest events like mh370.

    ReplyDelete

    1. True true

I also rely on Twitter for quick, snatches of news.

      Delete
    2. i don't have Twitter account, maybe i should consider.. because i thought FB is already enough, but then nowadays there are too much of link sharing, people don't even verify the authenticity and just click the share button.. i really find this rather irritating especially on the MH370 incident.. or probably this is the same problem with social media because it's the problem of the users and not the technology itself..

      Delete
    3. ChrisAu, not bad not bad, seems like you listened and comment more already! Can see improvement already, hehehe!

Well done, keep it up! I am sure if you continue this, this month your ranking will spike up!

    4. Last time I use twitter to check news, but now I like CNN app that will pop up the latest news automatically, I like everything automatically so I don't have to check on it all the time!!! =]

      Delete
    5. yeah, ChrisAu is making big improvements, ladies beware!! haha.. and actually i'd rather go to the CNN site to read news that relying on the FB newsfeed, because many people would just share the news once they saw it without verifying the authenticity..

      Delete
    6. Hmm actually I agree, news in Facebook is not 100% trustable, so better read the genuine ones like news on TV. Just take the latest MH370 incident for example, when it first happened so many friends share that the plane has been found! But the 'pray for MH370' group said otherwise.. So obviously those sharings are just rumors... So must think twice before sharing, to avoid further misunderstanding and chaos!

    7. Lol ..... ok ok ... beware ladies. I started to dish out my story telling soon . I will talk about the weather, the traffic, the pretty char bo at the bus stand , the rain , the food, the pretty newscaster. .. etc. Lol

    8. hahaha I have twitter but seldom login. Login also punb saja post ads.

I biasa with Facebook la. Coz got photos to see and most of my friends are in FB. Can just see what photo then can comment and like.

Agree with you there, SK. Too many sharing in FB for the MH370. fake news also they go and share. Like say found the plane liao . This and that. It's like the one who shared it doesnt even bother to verify the authenticity of the new. Then the person punya friend LIKE and then SHARE...it become viral pulak. fake news become "truth" then Malaysia once again become laughing stock all over the world.

Some politician also like that. Taking opportunity and say bad things about this and that party. P say B bad and B say P bad. End up who is the one that malu? whole malaysia malu coz people from all over the world can see.

Dont know la. I have some politician friends who posted negative thing about the other parties and I dont click "LIKE" . Am also glad coz I see there are not many LIKE for the negative statement. At least it means that people does read before simply LIKE that statement la

News in TV also not trust worthy ...at least for me la. A lot they did not report.

yalah, can LIKE anything but don't go and LIKE the sad news lah, instead put a comment to make your friend feel more comfortable lah..

and yeah, Chris please plan your trip to Sibu.. the Food Mayor of Sibu is also the SME of Kampua, so he will be able to bring you to eat the best kampua and don't fool or test him when it comes to kampua also.. and you will be brought to eat all kinds of food in Sibu, including his home cooking!! how nice right?? :)

  9. I do wish there is a DISLIKE button though. At times, I find it so disgusting I had to click "I DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS" like some gory, violent pictures for instance - dunno why anyone would want to share those - or there have been times when I was forced to UNFRIEND some people.

    1. These few days, I've seen many sharing this:
"A friend went to Beijing recently and was given this brochure by the hotel. It is precious.
She is keeping it and reading it whenever she feels depressed.
Obviously, it has been translated directly, word for word from Mandarin to English.

      Getting There:
Our representative will make you wait at the airport. The bus to the hotel runs along the lake shore. Soon you will feel pleasure in passing water. You will know that you are getting near the hotel, because you will go round the bend. The manager will await you in the entrance hall. He always tries to have intercourse with all new guests.

      The Hotel:
This is a family hotel, so children are very welcome. We of course are always pleased to accept adultery. Highly skilled nurses are available in the evenings to put down your children. Guests are invited to conjugate in the bar and expose themselves to others. But please note that ladies are not allowed to have babies in the bar. We organize social games, so no guest is ever left alone to play with them self.

      The Restaurant:
Our menus have been carefully chosen to be ordinary and unexciting. At dinner, our quartet will circulate from table to table, and fiddle with you.

      Your Room:
Every room has excellent facilities for your private parts. In winter, every room is on heat. Each room has a balcony offering views of outstanding obscenity! .. You will not be disturbed by traffic noise, since the road between the hotel and the lake is used only by pederasts.

      Bed:
Your bed has been made in accordance with local tradition. If you have any other ideas please ring for the chambermaid. Please take advantage of her. She will be very pleased to squash your shirts, blouses and underwear. If asked, she will also squeeze your trousers.

      Above All:
When you leave us at the end of your holiday, you will have no hope. You will struggle to forget it."

    3. Yes, for certain things, I also click "I don't want to see this" button, it's very annoying, like wash out the FB news feed!!!

    4. I used to do it and get annoyed at "friends" who swamped my timeline. Then I think back, they probably have the same thought when I share anything myself.

So now, whatever people post, I just scroll la. If genuinely like, then click like and comment. Otherwise ignore lor...

    5. Agree with STP, something which I have just commented above too. Really wonder why some people are so inconsiderate to share photos/videos which might be offensive, some of them really make you think about it for the whole day... Like those gory photos, even if you don't look into it for long, but when you scroll the page, you'll sure see it anyway.
Most of the times, I'll just unfriend this person, if he/she keeps posting inappropriate stuff, I don't wanna report or anything to avoid unnecessary issue, just secretly unfriend will do.
Some people are just too free and 'mou liu'.

      Delete
    6. it's been more and more fast scrolling nowadays when i browse FB, there are too many notifications on the page, sometimes i really do not want to see what other people like, and what i hate most is: friends being tagged in unrelated photos, like a photo of food or product that doesn't even have the face of any one.. i do not know why people so like to tag others into the food!! duh~~

and i don't go unfriend anyone lah, still can be friends mah, haha.. there will be a limit that i bear with your constant and unnecessary updates that keep flooding my page.. those that i find i do not want to see any more updates, i'll just unfollow or unsubscribe.. luckily FB now has more sophisticated options as to how we would like to follow the updates.. one i found very useful lately: my friend is kept being tagged in his friend's (whom i do not know) food photo (and doesn't look nice at all), i can just choose i do not want to see updates from this "third-party".. how nice!! peace of mind~~

      Delete
    7. I agree on this DISLIKE button. yeah some people mindlessly post up video of accidents and then those babies cut from the mommy tummy and also recently rough sexy till fell off balcony. couple naked in their death. I really dislike it. In fact I have reported it to FB and they did removed the video from that post.

Me too will click I dont; want to see this in FB. and if it's reall gross i will report. Otherwise I willl leave it as it is.

SK how to choose i do not want to see updates from this "third-party"? If the 3rd party is in your friend list we can do that but if not infriend list still can do ka? how? please teach. Thank you

How i which we can also select to see certain post from our friends . Like you say la....if friend kept posting online baju business ..those i dont wanna see but if post about life ...like going vacation ..i want to see those feed. How nice it is if got this funtion

      Delete
    8. yeah, i think i have done quite a lot of reporting and also done some survey on the newsfeed on facebook..

i just click the arrow on the top right corner, same drop down like the unfollow thing, but that picture of that "third party" has an additional option to unfollow him, so peace of mind, i don't have to see my friend being tagged by him in all his food photos anymore..

i remember last time we can select what to see from a friend, but now FB has simplified it to subscribe or unsubscribe, you either see all or you see nothing at all.. aiyah, wrong move, i missed the old feature..

  14. I read this somewhere:
"Whenever you click a “Like” button, you’ll post a link, a thumbnailed photo (if there’s a relevant image available) and a brief blurb for the content you’re “liking”—whether it’s a news story, a movie listing, or even an article of clothing on an online store—to your Facebook wall.

Of course, anything that appears on your wall will also pop up in the respective “news feeds” of your Facebook friends—and potentially on the news feeds of their friends, too, depending on your Facebook privacy settings.

Whenever you "like" something, a blurb appears on your Facebook wall.
Once posted, your “likes” can in turn be “liked” or commented on by others (Facebook will notify you if someone “likes” any content you posted), and even a comment on your initial “like” can be “liked.” (Is your head spinning yet?)"

    1. ...and there arises the problem!
If you like something and share and a few of your friends like it and share too, you will see on on your news feed...and if their friends like and share...and they are your friends too, you will see it again on your news feed - so in the end, you may get to see something over and over and over again till you get so sick of it.

    2. ...and some of the things may not be true even - like those stuff on the missing aircraft. Lots and lots of spam - I cannot understand why people would want to share it. So stupid! Photo of Lion Air plane that crashed into the sea upon take off in Bali...and they all shared saying that the plane had been found - any idiot can see the logo on the plane's tail...and there was the photoshopped advert of the airline, the captions edited...and so on and so forth. So many! I wonder if sharing those silly things makes them feel so clever or what? And let's not talk about the crap shared during election time. Tsk! Tsk!

    3. now that is SOCIAL NETWORK!! hahahaha~~ :D

and i agree with you that i was quite irritated and pissed off with those shared news, many unverified and just giving irresponsible speculations and angry condemnation regarding the MH370 incident.. they just share what they saw (and they only see the picture or the most read the title and not the whole story), i mean if you cannot do anything to help, please don't do a thing to hurt..

      Delete
    4. I know right, I heard from the radio that some pilot called up to the on air saying that, since the incident he refused to go on any social media, but they're just being stupid, like for those who don't understand will think like "wow, this "story" seems like truth, and this could be what exactly happened to them!" BUT for those who understand, those "stories" are just so stupid and ridiculous, that's why after been so long...I don't want to comment anything on it, because no fact and no prove yet!!! Like the black box, seriously...before this...bet no one know sh*t about it, but now everyone just act like so expert.....talking more and more about this just make me very angry...the newspaper or news online still fine, but the rest of social network just simply saying nothing!!! Coz the "experiences" and the "facts" they're using to prove are just based on their experiences of taking flights, so they assume they've enough experiences on it....argh~~~

  15. Good evening SK ah boy!! How's your working Monday? Fong kong already?
It is a busy day for me, being a chauffeur to my mum and aunty, hehe! My aunty is here from KL, to cheng beng her in laws and 'shun bian' stay here for a few days, so I brought them to eat and shopping just now~

Today's topic is very interesting, since it's about Facebook, many of us are Facebook users and I am sure we all can relate to that! Actually in the beginning when 'like' is being invented, I really thought that's a smart idea!! I mean it's kinda fun and sometimes useful to like certain posts, I remember once in the Facebook setting, once you like something, you'll get notifications when anyone commented on that post, so you can catch up with those comments.
But now, like you said, the like function is being misused. In fact, I find those likes a bit irritating, I mean especially those links that ask you to like, macam forcing people to like.... I thought it's something personal which we can decide for ourselves?
And sometimes, I see some friends posted like 'how many like for this status/picture?' Pengsan... Wanna become famous is it?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No la, some is like got to gain the most LIKEs to win some prize, my friends always purposely ask me to like her picture because she wants to win something...=.=!!! Also she asked me to log in to my sisters account to like her picture as well...O.o!!!

      Delete
    2. Huh, login as someone else to vote? Hmm like that a bit too much lo! Actually I think this method of participating is not so professional and fair lo, I mean anyone can like your photo, ok la if you have 1000 over friends you sure stand a better chance of winning ma, compare to those who only have like 100 friends, right?

      Delete
    3. Hahaha...like that, then what can I say is if those 100 friends very good friend then will have fully support lo, but as for those 1000 friends but only 10 or 20 is good friends then for sure cannot beat lo!!!

      Delete
    4. yeah, that is why i say the LIKE is already disgracefully being abused.. it doesn't mean you really like that post or that page anymore.. commercial ones, they will always require you to like before you can proceed.. as if the number of likes decides the level of popularity, yeah, it could be a measure but how genuine?? i do not think so..

      Delete
    5. Yep exactly! We cannot tell whether those likes are really sincere or not but then again.... it's the 'games' these days~

Hmm true, many commercial sites will ask you to like the page first before proceeding, only with the like then the votes will be counted =_=

      Delete
    6. Like once there was a girl who paid people to like her photo in a FAcebook LIKE competition..you've got that email?

If friend ask me help to like a certain photo for competition i will help and like la

In the beginning i got like 'how many like for this status/picture?" especially if about some courageous kid help some one or something like that.

But after that people start posting if I get 1000000 like, my daddy say i can have a dog. Those i didnt bother to like already

      Delete
    7. yeah, we all know LIKE on FB is not really like anymore lah.. can be 1001 things except like.. and funny lah, they use like to measure the popularity, alright, your got millions of like, so what?? how many of those likes are sincere??

      Delete
  16. And I just remember something about 'like' in Facebook, there're many people who share photos of someone else begging for likes in order for them to achieve something. I remember some blogger (not sure if it's you SK, or even myself, hehe) blogged about it before. Anyway Imma talk about the same thing now so very sorry la if I sorta 'steal ' your topic :p
You know the photo is of a girl holding a paper which written something like 'my daddy said if I get 1000 likes for this photo he'll quit smoking', or even 'my girlfriend said she will marry me if I get 5000 likes for this picture'.

Well, sorry but I think those are simply boring and pointless to share. I mean what's the points? I know their main purpose is to see how many likes in total they'll get so that they know they are famous! So what if the likes are really up to expectation, will the daddy quit smoking? Or will the girlfriend really marries the guy? Actually whether they did or not we also don't know... May be to some it's just for fun but to me, it's kinda 'mou liu' lo.. May be I am a serious person like that la! Haha xD Actually I'll say myself as a more matured people than they are ;)

    ReplyDelete

    1. Not easy to quit smoking la, if the smoker never try to take the real action..there're a lot of examples around me, hehe!!!

      Delete
    3. yes!! now that you mentioned this, i also find all these very nonsense.. i see friends who LIKE those, but sorry, even if it's just a click i won't want to do that at all.. it's so pointless and i guess they are just trying to seek attention only..

      Delete
    4. Correct! Seek for attention and popularity la! Really pointless hor?

      Delete
    5. I will say this "Mou Liu". Not only one people do it, after that more and and more people using the same way to get more LIKES or hit 1,000,000 likes... then only quit smoking then, he probably can die even faster lor (sorry for being so rude here - usually not my style - muahaha)... why must take this kind of thing to challenge their own health issue? really doesn't make sense at all.

      Delete
    6. Agree with you on that. if the daddy want to quit smoking he would have quit long time already./ no need to wait for people to like.

      attention seeker la.

    7. yeah, facebook has already turn very commercialized lah.. it was meant for connection with friends, but i guess it's more about seeking attention and everyone tends to be more self-centered instead..

A little too strong here perhaps but you'll agree it is true in some cases. Oh well, it's an individual judgment thing. Some things just can never be taught, one cultivates it with enough experience and observation, and presence of mind, if you will.

    6. Meow I *Like* your point. Like I said in my second comment above, have we become robots or morons without the human feel and touch already?

Angeline BK, yeah, TST, I suppose - tau sama tau. But... for me it's still back to what Meow said or best not to *Like* when it's a 'bad news' post but then again, friends among friends do have some sort of a mutual understanding. Life is such..

    7. Hmm that one that Meow say is totally correct lar... so post a comment - get well soon and so on... to show we are concern and respect the late ones....

Happy Surfer - TST new word today I've learnt tau sama tau....

    8. i totally agree with the point HappySurfer brought up!! yes, technology has somehow make the people so cold and robotic and seems to lack that flesh and blood of a real human..

  18. ‘you turned on your PC or holding your handheld gadgets, went into Facelook, and then you start scrolling and clicking LIKE.. something so routine and you are doing this without realizing how many status, photos, videos, comments or shared links you have LIKEd on Facelook.. ‘
Well, I couldn't agree more! Haha! It's so me! It's like part of my daily life already you know~ And it includes blog hopping too! If one day don't do it macam 'zao shan mmm zhi zoi', LOL! But of course in my case, it depends on my tasks also la! You know la, as a mummy to a super active boy, he needs my attention more than anything, so can't really stick to this routine every single day (though I wish to, haha)

But one thing I am different from what you typed is, I don't simply like things in Facebook. I only like if I really like, or it's from a close friend of mine. Sometimes, if friends asking for helps to like the photo for competition purpose, I'll also do it (what to do, friends purposely messaged me and asked for helps wo, hard to say no).
I got a friend (actually she's my junior from secondary school, not so close though) and I am truly surprised at her posts, everytime she posts something (status, photo) she'll sure gets more than 200 likes within minutes. Some to me are just very ordinary status/photos, I wonder why she got so many supporters? Not that I am jealous la, but just out of curiousity...
If for me, I'll prefer to have 50 sincere likes, rather than 100 not-so-sincere likes, you know what I mean? ;)

    1. Is she a celebrity or picture of her pretty face or accidentally show the "business line" picture? Is like that mostly are guys la...that's for sure!!!

Heard from news before, can buy LIKEs from Taobao, there're some people doing certain they, sitting there with many different IP address and hit on the LIKE button!!!

      Delete
    2. haha, i guess not only us but may people are also doing the same.. i sometimes observe people in the train, they also just fast scrolling the FB, and when they see something that interests them, they will stop and scroll back to take a closer look.. else, everything will just scroll off like that, haha~~

and yeah, got me wonder how those people can earn so many likes huh?? maybe they always like their friends' post, so reciprocally they also return likes to them lor.. and i guess those with lots of likes also have lots of friends in their list lah.. maybe do a percentage calculation, probably the percentage of friends who like your post is way higher than those popular "facebook celeb"~~ :p

    3. 小影, that junior I mentioned is just an ordinary lady, she's a year younger than me but is a mother of 3 daughters la, hmm she is not very pretty type (sorry la just trying to be honest) but then, she doesn't look like a mother, so may be that's why she gets so many likes? 'Business line' photo, erm seldom, most photos she shares are her selfie or her daughters one.
But I think none of the above are the reasons why she gets so many likes la, probably because she has many many friends like what SK said!

Huh really? Can buy like from Taobao? Me so jakun never heard of that! Hmm but this really is 无聊,really got people so free and hardworking sit there and hit likes?!

    4. Got la, people buying so business going on lo!!! Even in taobao, they always have weird weird business minded!!!

  19. I am the 20%, 15% and 5%, ya it is true, it is ridiculous how somebody can like a status when somebody posted they are sick... because they like they can sick? For me, I only like those pictures, photos or quotes which I like and sometimes I like back someone's status because he or she has like mine, but I am selective, I don't just anyhow like. Heehee.

    1. i have to admit that i am all of the above lah, but depends on situations, because nowadays the LIKE button is not really about like anymore.. but at least, i won't go and LIKE sad news that friends posted lah, haha~~

  20. Sometimes I wonder if there is any double like or triple like buttons, because sometimes I feel one like is not enough, must have a few likes. Haha.

  22. I agree with Hayley, I have one friend, whatever status she posted on FB, she will have many many likes, wonder how she did that to have so many supporters... but frankly I do not friend anybody whom I don't know personally on FB, all the friends I have on FB are only friends whom I know or have met at least once.

    4. You also have that kinda friend Libby? Haha, really makes us wonder! Sometimes her photo is just of a plate of noodles she ate during lunch, but can get over 100 likes wor!! Hmm, really feel funny and weird at the same time~
Yep same here, I filter all friends too, and make sure I know that person before accepting his/her friend request. And I do housekeeping on and off to delete off those people who is inactive, or those who keep on posting useless stuff on my newsfeed~

  23. I think why FB don't have hate buttons, maybe because it is quite rude to hate somebody's comment or status and can cause many misunderstanding, that's why don't have hate buttons.

    1. actually i kind of remember they have the DISLIKE button before but probably due to this reason they removed that and only left the LIKE..

    2. Hmm true also la Libby, if really got hate or dislike button on Facebook, sure can create more chaos and unwanted stuff, sure people will feel offended if he receives many hates! Then he will start to scold 4 letter words then people will start commenting then the drama continues... haha! May be that's why the management don't put out the hate option~

    3. More gory photos coming out at our news feed later on....

    4. yeah, maybe that's the problem with having DISLIKE.. some people who only likes flattery and cannot accept negative comments or feedback, sure will fight back and make everyone likes what he or she likes.. hmmm, maybe the best thing to do is, do away all the buttons, if you really want to say something, TYPE A COMMENT!!

  25. I am back before retiring to bed, hehe!
Just remember I forgot to add on something~

Regarding your analysis, for the first 25% 'well i just like anything on Facelook', it doesn't occur to me at all! Cause like I said, I don't and won't simply like anything...
The next 25% 'ahh, i see you posted something new!!', also not likely happen to me, cause everyday also got new thing one la! If everything also go and like, I'll have a very busy day, LOL!
Then the 20% of 'hmm, you like me and i like you, it's reciprocal!!', well feel a bit embarassed but that happens to me sometimes, hehehe, I notice some friends of mine, regardless of close or not, likes my photo everytime, I don't know if he/she is sincere but anyhow I thank his/her 'effort', so sometimes when he/she posts something I'll like her back ;)

15% of 'err, you asked me to like it remember??', well, happened a few times but not often, happens mostly when friends needed votes to win something.

10% 'okay, i read or saw what you posted..', also not so often.. and last but not least, 5% of 'yay, i like what you posted!!', I guess this means sincerely like the post? Hmm, sometimes la! :p

    1. I come visit this kopitiam before I start work afterwards.. Gawd, dear.. Before go to sleep also wana komen ahh.. Go sleep la, can blog and post komen here the next day ma.. Eh, I realize from a few posts lastime, you komen at night one, before you go to sleep..

But I understand geh, as a mum of 2 rascals, I also only have time especially at night, after they are asleep.. Then depends whether that time we wana sleep also, or use that time for me-time like surfing, blogging, putting on a mask, “boiling” our favourite TVB series (in my case, The Walking Dead) or reading..

Since you guys talking about FB, I think I didn’t run away very far from the topic.. Lastime when FB was really new (actually until today still have these apps, but less people playing with it liao), my friends were sending me notofocations everyday.. There was this pillow hitting thingy which I hated most.. You hit your friends with the pillow, say, a very basic rectangular pillow, then the more friends you hit, you get to upgrade you pillow.. There are many many nice and canggih pillows when your level is higher, like sushi pillow, burger pillow, Easter egg pillow, so on.. The more friends you hit, the more points you get, you get to upgrade to a nicer and canggih pillow.. I’ve never thought of it then, but now if you ask me, if there’s a HATE button, or VERY HATE button, I would have clicked on them.. Or like TM said, GO EAT SHIT button, I would have hit on it.. There were many more this kinda apps those days, I forgot those names, but really, if you ask me now, I would love to HATE all those useless apps.. Those nonsense apps like “Send A Beer” apps, “Send A Sushi” apps, gawd, too free nothing to do meh..

Btw that's a "block this app" in the setting mah, once you've block you'll no longer received any invitation or request from them la!!!

I used to play a lot of FB game last time, like what farm, what farm, what cafe, what cafe end up, I have my friends my account to let her play some more because I'm very lazy to decorate the cafe since she loves the game so much so I let her play lo!!! Also that's a game guessing which country flag is this, where's this country on the map!!! That one is very informative game mah!!!
