[Volume 9 Issue 3, #1873]
i remember posted about my three meals in a day, gave some readers a shock and received many comments on how oily and how carbo-loaded the food are, haha!! well, those were what i would pamper myself with during weekends, but in normal days i don't usually feast like that, can be rather healthy also wan.. :p
breakfast is (almost) daily this organic baby oats with sunflower seeds and raisins in plain hot water, no added flavors.. used to have imported muesli in yoghurt, but things are getting so dear that i resort to this now.. :(
i guess you will agree with me that many times it's a pain to decide where and what to eat for lunch!! being lazy, i just grab a loaf and spread some jam on them, for a few days i can save my brain juice and just eat~~ :p
but solely bread with jam can be so dull and i need some add-ons.. nope, these are not honeydew but green apple and pear.. purposely slice them thinner so that mentally i feel like i am having more to eat!! haha~~
dooh, this is not my dinner lah, crazy!! probably some fruits for tea if i don't snack on biscuits or bars.. not showing my dinner as my dad's cooking is ever so horribly oily that doesn't match with this topic, muahaha!! :D
[out of topic] noticed something different for the post today?? yeah, i don't usually show all my pictures flat but have buttons to show one at a time, not my style right?? haha.. but then i realized when i have interactive elements in a post, some readers may not click them, either they don't bother, they don't know how or too used to plain scrolling?? anyway, here's one conventional style for everyone~~ :)

      Delete
    3. I only have fruits after dinner, coz that's the obly time I have can stand there cut the fruit patiently, if not like my breakfast and lunch, I'll have it very quickly!!!

    11. okaylah, i have been very used to having oats all these while, but then how come i am still so FAT?? haiz~~ :D

aiyoh, i love pomelo leh.. everytime my friend goes back to Ipoh, he will bring me a pomelo and also a packet of "heong peng", cos he knows i love these two things.. i prefer the pink pomelo, sweet and sour type.. i can have a few slices at a time..

errr, pomelo is "saap yeet" one meh?? i dunno lah, but then i only have two slices at a time lah, should be okay lah, got fibre mah.. but if Princess Ribbon eats that a lot also no difference lah, cos she only pangsai once a week, "saap yeet" or not also no difference to her :p

      Delete
    12. I must be here early, so normally go da bao and come here to eat, is okay to work and eat, as I always eat very fast and start my work very early!!!

How to giveaway pomelo? It has it weight, not light...also poslaju? macam mana...I don't know le!!! If you say you're around KL or PJ area then only I can send to your house face to face...scared use poslaju is not safe!!!

Hahaha...you're very fat meh??? I think you is okay la, not that fat, should be like average!!!

Why sour type?...I like the sweet one, hahaha!!! But cannot eat all in once must eat separately in different days!!!

      Delete
    13. hmmm, eat fast and also while doing your work, not healthy leh.. experts always say we need to eat slowly and enjoy our food then baru healthy, hahaha!! but quite impossible for the people nowaday lah..

pomelo so heavy, i think few kg?? i think can peel off the skin, then tear into wedges and put them neatly into a container, then PosLaju to Small Kucing, haha!! sweet and sour one better mah, not so fast "jaai" mah.. :)

      Delete
    14. I'll enjoy my yummy dinner slowly everyday at home, but normally day time, I've to be very rush, every minutes count, and things come to worst when hit on to traffic jam!!!

Usually it has to keep in the fridge, but poslaju normally takes one day to send, is that okay to keep it inside for so long?

      Delete
    15. yalah, you have been rushing for the whole day, dinner must slowly enjoy and slowly munch your food lah.. errr, joking only lah, how to send by PosLaju, later rotten inside dei~~

    7. I haven't count those already eaten earlier leh... usually during the CNY season, supplier will pass some to us in the office. If is good, we have chance to take 1-2 go home. I have a friend they have this pomelo dusun, she again passed 2 biji for me... After plus and minus, we actly eaten about 5-6pomelos during that season. Compare to mandarin oranges, Pomelo is better.

but why should i scold my readers?? all comments are welcome, good or bad, praise or criticize, i love them all.. i am not those who only likes to hear positive things and refute negative points :)

    4. I "scold" some ppl to remind them not be a kiss-ass to me st my blog. Muahaha

    5. hmm, Lina likes people to tell the truth rather than bodeking her.. good!! so unlike some other bloggers who taught all those flattering are truthful, so used to being praised and once being criticized they can never take it and must revenge to win a debate :D

      Delete
    6. SK, you're right. Those flattering words are just to comfort themselves only... Since we're in the blogging world. Need to accept it lor... no right and wrong lar here... Sure got people sukak and some bo sukak.... Duan revenge lar and dun kutuk too, give and take ok? I want everyone to stay happy when spamming here and also while blogging in their own blog world.

      Delete
    7. yeah, actually this is just a virtual world, we don't have to take things seriosuly also, afterall many of the readers are people you may not have even met before.. so why so serious?? i guess everyone just come here to have fun, just enjoy and have fun :)

      Delete
    8. For me, if it's so obviously uncomfortable for us; no harm telling people how people how we feel especially if its our OWN blog.

As people often reminding each other... no right or no wrong. But why is it wrong for us to uphold our belief instead of swimming along with the crowd? Other people also must respect us.

But then again, like SK say, no need to take things seriously. Betul jugak.

But if anyone offend me, that is serious. FOR ME. Too much kiss-assing offends me a whole lot. Muahaha

      Delete
    9. oh yeah, i like that.. if you tell me there is no right or wrong, then it is no wrong for me to do what i like in my OWN blog too, haha!! aiyoh, Mak Glam doesn't like too much kiss-assing?? ooopsss, then i have to be mosquitoes sometimes rather than all the time semut lah~~ :p

      Delete
    7. hahaha, yes spot on!! that bowl comes free with two tubes of Darlie.. errr, nice mah, i actually love all these freebies mug and bowls more than what we need to pay to buy, weird me?? hehe.. so next time if you have too many freebies at home and you got no use, i don't mind them at all.. birthday or normal days also can send to me, but let me take a look first to decide lah :D

remember this post i wrote about freebies?? [link]

Not like some post, I have to crack my head and use my brain juice to think (I don’t like using my brains one wor for blogging and also thinking what and how to comment.. I only use my brains to think when there are headache family thingy..

Psst, I don’t even use my brains for work, waste my “jing sun and sum gei” only..Come to work, wait for time to pass, then shoo at 5.30pm only, keke)..

    1. Ok, enuff nonsense, later kena cursed (again) for telling granny stories non related to the topic and kena “sued” for writing essays..

Ok, here goes my comment.. I got a feeling it’s gonna be a long one.. Coz one look at your post I already know what I wana type liao..

      Delete
    2. Yep, before you even ask so, I already realize there’s no “one-by-one” button to click on your food picture wor.. Everyting in one post, can sekali see all..

Pic # 1 – Before I read your description, I thought it’s “mak zhuk” tongsui with some wolfberries (kei ji).. But I somewhat can assume it’s oats actually, coz it’e breakfast ma.. Where got people take “mak zhuk” for breakfast one, with that santan and all, sure “nau”, kan? Your breakfast looks very healthy..

Unlike me, if I have (Quaker) oats, I only put condensed milk.. Yep, nothing but condensed milk.. Yummiest on earth.. Once a while, I do put Bovril into my Quaker oats.. It taste like porridge, but I only do this when I’m unwell and no mood to eat other thing else..

Me leh, currently, for my breakfast, I’m having a cup of Milo only when I reach office, that’s all.. Sometimes I add some Nestum into my Milo.. Alternate days, I have my Usana meal replacement shake, mixed with Milo (again) to make it more filling and also jimat ma, don’t wana use up my Usana so fast.. Coz a small packet is very costly liao.. So must “harn ji harn ji” drink..

Kenzie boy’s kindergarten serves either bread, cereal or biscuits for breakfast by the way.. Sometimes, eating kiddy’s food also nice.. Once a while la..

Pic # 2 – I agree with you.. Everyday eat out also will be sien, kan? Sometimes, really dunno what to eat, the best is Milo cecah with biscuits, like my colleague always say.. Once a while, biscuits cecah with Milo for lunch taste so much better..

But wait, you actually finished all those bread? Let me count.. Give me 3 seconds..

I think I see 7 slices of bread.. Or 8? You serious you wallop those with only peanut butter & jam?

For me leh, lunch leh, I follow the majority out.. If they wana drive out and eat out, I tag along.. Else, I will not starve geh.. Can always tapao mixed rice from downstairs café.. Usually my lunch is always a bowl of noodles, and a drink.. Or “kiu soong”.. Normal “soong” la, not those canggih “sau gung” CNY dishes k?

Kenzie boy’s kindergarten serves rice with soup daily for lunch.. Well, that’s what the daycare-takers tell me.. Always rice, without fail.. Then a soup with everything inside – potatoes, carrots, vegetables, chicken meat.. Then they have fish, and stir-fried vegetables.. But they tell me Kenzie is quite picky when it comes to greens.. When he sees vegetables, he won’t touch it.. But only certain type of vege.. Some vege, he will eat wor..

Pic # 3 – Having some fruits or crackers is good also.. You are very “yau sum gei” also wor.. You bring fruits to the office, then cut & peel it in the pantry? Seldom see guys doing that.. usually the guys here just take the whole fruit (usually apples), wash a bit, and bite terus..

I don’t have anything else after my lunch.. If I’m still hungry, I make another cup of Milo..

Pic #4 – Pomelo for tea? You bring the whole fruit and peel in office or you already slice it from home? Kekekeke..

For me leh, teatime or “mouth itchy” time is around 3-4pm.. What else? Milo again, hehe.. I wonder ahh, will I get Milo-poison ahh, coz you mentioned before, there’s such thing as water poison, keke..

Kindergarten also have tea-time.. Usually at 4.30pm, after they wakeup from afternoon nap.. Usually their tea time is quite heavy and “fung-foo”.. They have either pasta, fried bihun or fried rice, then a dessert like agar-agar or kuih.. I guess this is to keep their tummy full, and it can last them til dinner time while waiting for their parents to pick them up in the evening..

      Delete
    3. Oh, so daily, your dad cooks dinner and you always have home-cooked dinner lor?

I understand geh, our old folks tend to cook oily stuff, my MIL does that too.. Every weekend, I will see “oily dishes” on the dining table, but we still wallop la.. Takkan so rude say don’t want eat meh.. She will usually cook 2 types of meat, 1 vege, 1 egg/tofu and a soup.. My, all her dishes are so oily.. We used to tease her “Ma, oil very cheap ahh?” Basically all the food are “flooded” in oil.. Especially those braised meat, curries and her vegetables.. So I totally understand…

But I would love to see your dinner aka dad’s cooking though..

Breakfast is a very important meal for our body. Oats and muesli for breakfast definitely is a very wise choice to start a brand new day. I’m sure this first cup of delicious blend with healthy fibre and protein to maintain a smooth bowels movements and keep your heart strong for SK! It could be taste better with milk. Condensed milk like Louiz did a bit too sweet thingy for me ady. For me I mix Milo kosong with oats. Taste nice too. Then, my taste bud change for the past two years, suddenly influenced by colleagues to opt for a cup of coffee… I never drink coffee actually – tea yes!
Since I start work at 8pm. I don’t really have proper breakfast before going to work. Everyday work up around 5.30am and prepare snack box for Calvin. Usually, I’ll make extra and bring over to the office for colleagues and myself. They feel very happy when I prepare extra sandwiches for them. If not preparing anything, I’ll wake up around 6am to wake him up… I need time to wake him up... hehehe.

Hey Hey Hey that’s the Mr Potato plate you’re using. Let me have another guess – the bread is Gardenia and Smucker’s Goober Grape Jam – That is my favourite! If it’s only peanut butter – I like Skippy brand. So how will you eat it, you’ll stacking all the breads together? or take slice by slice?
Usually gets headache right to think where to have lunch? Looking at the window, damn hot lar outside. Prefer to stay inside. Most of time, if is weekend or I’m not working, I prefer to prepare brunch for them. Since it’s a holiday everyone tends to wake up a lil bit late. So we take our brunch around 11.30am, after finished everything is was like about 12.30pm already…. Take some fruits and then that’s it. No need to think of lunch anymore.
During Uni life, if I’m alone in the room after attend classes, I will feel very “sien” thinking of what to eat for lunch…Ended take a cup of instant noodle. Yeah it is not healthy… but when think of going out to da pao - buy my lunch, I need to walk up and down the staircase since I stayed on the fifth floor leh… walking to the cafeteria, another distance pula… So “han han dei” take a cup of noodle , sometimes bread and get a few slice of biscuits “deng zhu tong sin” before dinner. Then probably take a nap and wait for dinner time. Usually my roommates and I will have dinner together after they finish their classes.

    6. haha, spot on!! yes, Mr Potato plate that is, haha!! the bread i forgotten what brand already, i just get the available one.. can be Gardenia, Massimo or High-5 lor.. the jam is Lady's Choice, peanut butter with grape.. haha!! Smucker's too expensive lah, i got Lady's Choise which is RM5 cheaper..

and true, especially when you are alone sometimes will just settle with something rather "junk" and that's it one meal.. but then sometimes if with a gang, then there are too many suggestions and tough to decide also.. haiz, second thought, eating is also not a simple thing, haha!! :D

I can do but I have to crack my head, refer and reseacrh other blogs for some ideas and so on. Well think of it, Calvin recess time was about 25mins, I haven't deduct the time he goes to toilet and so on. Many ingredients to prepare for Bento. It is nice to see but he can't finish all. that one is Lady's Choice lah, haha, plastic container instead of glass lor, that's why cheaper, haha!! errr, actually i can eat apple just like that also lah, but then nowadays those apples all so heavily waxed, better peel off the skin lah.. and while peeling, might as well cut, and while cutting might as well cut into bite size pieces like that easier to eat mah..

hehehe, i bought 3 twin packs!! but then not one shot lah, like within a few months like that lor.. but those plates are really cute lah, haha!! anyway, luckily i am not going to collect all 8 designs :D

    2. Yea, I wonder why condensed milk... Seldom hear people use condensed milk as breakfast, usually use for cooking/baking and drinks, no?
Anyway, as long as we are comfortable with it, then ok la!

And LOL at your idea TM! But thumbs up for thinking so many 'liu' one shot! Fried peanuts, salted veggies, salted duck eggs, meat floss and preserved dace fish are great condiments for porridge!

But to be honest, oats are good on its own, so must take it plain to achieve maximum results.

    3. actually i think many people like condensed milk.. they can have it in their beverage, they can have it on their toast etc lah (i dunno a lot because i never like condensed milk, haha).. so it's not just for cooking and baking lah, can be like some "seasoning" or "flavoring" just on the table :)

Now I stopped eating bread as I seldom had time to toast them in the mornings! I end up drinking 3-in-1 beverages instead. Bread is carbo and makes me fat looking like a Subway sandwich! Anay should cut that down also, make yourself freshly squeezed veggie and fruit juice instead.. or just eat oat like Thambee lah..

I also found some mixed nuts sold in supermarkets and the whole total would hit over RM15!!!! That's not cheap for a light meal but it is healthy & my weight could drop like fast! As for the lunch, I remember when I was working, I also tend to eat something simple like that, sometimes even the same menu as breakfast! Haha xD What to do? For convenient sake, sometimes its too hot to go out, plus not enough time, so rather have simple and quick lunch at office.
Now that I am not working, sometimes when I'm really busy with Aden, I'll skip lunch, then snacks abit in late afternoon..

Yes, I agree, it's such a headache thinking of what to eat! Believe it or not, my hubby and I would sometimes go round the town for more than 15 minutes wondering what to eat! Actually there're not many choices here at Taiping, but still don't know what to eat, haha xD

    2. Oh, you like to slice the fruits and eat like that? I prefer to eat the whole thing, feel like biting the apple like that is more 'umph', hehe! But whatever way it is, it's important to take fruits everyday. I make sure I take at least a type of fruit daily, for health, beautiful skin, and also a better bowel movement~
And I also make sure Aden has at least 2-3 types of fruits or greens daily. But this fella very hard to please, last time he loved kiwi and papaya but now no more :( But at least he likes strawberry, orange, apple and banana, also very good choices, LOL!

I guess that's the pomelo in the last picture? Hmm, I am not a fan of pomelo, but I do like the skin, not to eat it but to put in room, a natural fragrance, but of course the scent fade away very quickly, all natural ma, no preservative ;)

    3. hope you are getting better already because you got weddings chores to make you busy for the weekend!! haha, that's something happy anyway..

oh, you tried the scripts before?? errr, it will not work during preview lah, because the preview only let you see what's on first load because blogger will strip off all the scripting during preview.. but if you published the post, it will actually work.. i actually copy the whole post into a notepad, rename to .html to test it before publishing.. just some tips to you :)

you are right lah, sometimes we just have no idea or too lazy to think of what to eat.. so just eat the same thing everyday, haha!! i guess i am this type lah, no need to think but just eat, only when i have a sudden crave for something then only i go and eat that something only.. makes life easier lah like that, geez!!

haha, i have no problem eating the apples just like that.. but then nowadays they are too heavily waxed so i think better to peel them, and while peeling might as well cut them into pieces so that it's more convenient to eat lor.. good that you ensure Aden has balanced diet, no wonder he is growing up so fast!! i mean i compare his photos with last year :)

    4. If I'm single my meals will be very simple, eat anything also can. No prob. But when we have kids, they definitely need a balance diet. So Hayley I hope you're recovering by now. So hope to see you more over here...

  32. Wah!! So healthy your breakfast!! But don't know why I can't eat oats. I think I am allergic to it. Now I eat porridge every morning with carrots and miso and flaxseed oil :)

  33. Seriously?! Just bread and jam for lunch? If it's me, sure very hungry and cannot last the afternoon! Are you on a diet? :D

  34. Oh, one thing - I just discovered I can't eat a lot of bread too - not good for my digestion. Although I love bread and pastries!! Too bad, have to follow the doctor's orders.

  36. Luckily you said that last photo is not your dinner. If not, I think you have serious problems already haha! Fruits for tea is definitely healthier than biscuits :)

  37. Oh your dinner is cooked by your father and it's oily and unhealthy? No wonder you need to eat healthily for your breakfast and lunch! LOL!
