lol - to make fully use of the monthly passes, dont you incur more resource (time?). a while back i was buying so many groupons, thinking i was 'saving' but in the end spent more a month.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good habit to always monitor and reflect. It keeps us grounded, so that it's not too late to turn back :D
ReplyDeleteThose days I used to write down cos money was very tight then... nowadays very lazy liow.. but i make sure that I do not have bank overdraft! hahaha..
ReplyDeleteIt's a good exercise! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI am opposite la! If someone steal my note from my wallet, I guess I won't able to notice also.
ReplyDeleteYou are not kedekut, you are just jimat cermat. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteYou can be a millionaire 10 or 20 years from now. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteGood for you to itemise the money spent. At least know where to budget or cut back when need
ReplyDeleteTransport pass?
ReplyDeleteThought that was your fat bank account statement wow fatt tatt loh haha.
ReplyDelete'Tai toll lan' pay RM100 transport over travelled by RM250. Good ROI haha. They didn't capture the amount that you used so no need to top up?
ReplyDeleteNever record daily expenses as I know there would not be much damage from my daily RM4.5 brunch of buffet economical rice, dinners quite simple, hardly spent on movies or shopping. Other expenses like petrol, touch n go, maintenance & repair etc would 'loke' card so as to have the expenses captured in the monthly statement.
Wahh use so much on public transport!! Really worth the pass.. but make sure no one from the government reads this or they might consider increasing the monthly pass price :P
ReplyDeleteAlways wise to be careful with money. I wouldn't say - spend wisely... Instead, I would say - don't spend. More often than not, we spend quite unnecessarily on things we can do or can get by without.
ReplyDeleteI did that spreadsheet thing, many many years ago.... for a few times. Then I got bored and no patience.
ReplyDeleteSalute your determination, even keep it to sen level. I simply agak-agak and put a round figure in the columns.
ReplyDeleteNowadays so lazy to keep track of my spending.... just put a side of my income for saving, bills and liabilities. The rest is for monthly expenses. If got extra, it will goes for my 'leisure', hahaha!
ReplyDeleteNormally hardly left any for leisure :(
ReplyDeleteOn the positive side, no borrowing or get personal loan from bank or ah long yet. Still surviving well on my humble salary.
That monthly LRT card really works for you. It's savings big time for regular users. For people who don't use up the amount, I believe it's more of a convenience and time-saving.
ReplyDeleteKeeping track of daily expenses is a great way to know where the money goes. It takes diligence though. Good for you, SK!
ReplyDeletetill now i still have financial problem, so i totally understand...
ReplyDeleteI so calculative one, every single cent spend during the day had to be balanced out at the end of the day. A habit I cultivated when both Zaini and I were saving money to get married. xD
ReplyDeleteAnd so bad of me, if a big amount is unaccounted for, say RM50; I'd ask hubby whether he borrowed my money or not. Aiya!
ReplyDeleteI have a spreadsheet for daily spending, one for credit cards and one for all the 0% balance transfers that I did, in effort to gain a bit of interest in ASB by transferring the credit cards spending to some 0% balance transfer account and the cash that I am supposed to use to pay for the expenses into ASB.
ReplyDeleteLike so free one! LOL
But I think nowadays, I can easily get bankrupt. Too much spending on entering races and buying running gears! huhuhu
ReplyDeleteHaha I also have the same habit... but sometimes suddenly got too lazy to keep track of it and then lost track d :(
ReplyDeleteI dun have the habbit until I realize my purse macam bocor . . . so I will start thinking what the hell did I spend on . . .
ReplyDeletePractically some meal which is cost like a bomb wont easy to realize one . . .
ReplyDeleteI will tell u what is the most costy and not nice to eat.
Indian mamak stall fried chicken, which will charge you until RM 5++ per pcs and sometimes it is fried on Morning when you eat it on Evening, totally potong stim and prepare to lao sai on tomorrow morning! lol
Now for me sometimes I go to buy 2 pcs of 70cent bread and drink I packet of milk . . . which is replace my morning breakfast and my lunch . . .
ReplyDeletesometimes you buy things from 7-11 will be so dam costy. Imagine one packet of Dutch Lady Chocolate will be cost RM 1.80 and you buy from Petrolstation Kiosk will be RM 1.60 . . . dam kao potong stim I tell you . . .
I am not a stingy person la, is just that if you buy everything from 7-11 in one month, it will bomb you like hell! Imagine everyday you buy RM 1.70 from them . . . It will be
ReplyDelete1.70 x 30 days = RM 51
if you buy cheaper like RM 1.40
1.40 x 30 days = RM 42
so count and see la lol XD
Hooray! wow It's been awhile .. it is so nice to be here in your blog again.
ReplyDeleteErrr.. I am really not good at this SK... even though I used to jot down all my expenses in a week, I will still end up ruining my budget list sigh
ReplyDeleteSame here... even though I keep on reminding my siblings to spend their money wisely, it was such a shame for me that their older brother can't handle his finances either haha
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm really happy to be back here... I miss spamming your blog buddy... anyway, have a great day to you and happy blogging
ReplyDeleteLOL we seem to have the same problem! I count my money and almost always, what's left in my wallet is severely short and I can"t trace where it had gone wakakakakaa
ReplyDelete+Ant+
I don't understand the last part with the ROI and transport pass? Kind to enlighten this aunty over here?
ReplyDeleteHmmm... sometimes my expenses are bigger than my income and I get stressed out when that happens hahaha
ReplyDeletethat's a good habit! i dont spend much and i'd always keep some money for my travelling. haha!
ReplyDeleteYou have a good habit there! I also note down my expenses and categorize them as Priority 1,2,3 and 4 haha!
ReplyDeleteDespite that, I still find myself spending too much! It's tough to control my spending!
ReplyDeleteBut actually it's good to spend cos when you spend money, it creates a void whereby money will come to you! Haha!!
ReplyDeleteIf you are too stingy, you will block the natural flow of money. Then you find that you are getting poorer and poorer LOL!
ReplyDeletewhoops! i have never note down my daily expenses. >.< altho my parents asked me to do so when am still little. ahaha
ReplyDeletehaha its scary to see that u always overspent that what u have budgeted. i rather not to know it. lol!
ReplyDeleteI dont know how to describe you!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are not only do things 100% perfect and also have a very very strong disciplined!
Cool!
(how you manage your time to do a lot time at one day? maybe u can share in next post or future with us) so, i can learn some great things from you.
