[#1273] can't remember since when i have a habit to record all my daily expenses into a spreadsheet, precise to single sen level.. it should be the decision made after i realised the notes on hand seems to have missing by a few pieces mystically, till i thought they were stolen.. but the fact is that, many times we just didn't realise how much we have spent and how fast the notes are given away from our hands - yes, it's that scary!! though this good habit didn't help me to save a fortune, in fact there are many times that i've overspent, at least those numbers (sometimes) really kind of alert me..

especially when i have no income and all expenses now, i definitely need to be more financially managed, till i sometimes think myself being a little too miserly, haha!! for instance the RM100 transport pass i pay monthly, i make sure i make the most use of it, as a result i got my ROI like just after 10 days, and within a month i may use up to RM250 in value, haha!! isn't that just too worth to pay for?? :D

  1. lol - to make fully use of the monthly passes, dont you incur more resource (time?). a while back i was buying so many groupons, thinking i was 'saving' but in the end spent more a month.

  15. Never record daily expenses as I know there would not be much damage from my daily RM4.5 brunch of buffet economical rice, dinners quite simple, hardly spent on movies or shopping. Other expenses like petrol, touch n go, maintenance & repair etc would 'loke' card so as to have the expenses captured in the monthly statement.

  18. Always wise to be careful with money. I wouldn't say - spend wisely... Instead, I would say - don't spend. More often than not, we spend quite unnecessarily on things we can do or can get by without.

  28. I have a spreadsheet for daily spending, one for credit cards and one for all the 0% balance transfers that I did, in effort to gain a bit of interest in ASB by transferring the credit cards spending to some 0% balance transfer account and the cash that I am supposed to use to pay for the expenses into ASB.
