[Volume 10 Issue 5, #2022]
Bangkok: A 90/10 Leisure/Business Trip (Q & A)
i am basically done with my recent Bangkok trip with the previous three posts.. however, i saw a few remaining photos in my phone and thought, might as well just use them all up for one finale post.. for the very first time i "show hand" all photos of a trip in my blog, not because i wrote a lot but because i took very few photos, haha!! so, a Q&A post this is, not about travel tips or giveaway contest, but rather to answer some questions posted by my readers in the comments sections.. it proves again that though i did not (have the time to) reply to your comments, i actually read every single one of them!! enjoy.. :)

  1. 4A Oh, you really got the heart, purposely write a blog post to answer all our questions....gam dong, gam dong.... But don't know leh, I saw many friends went to Thailand they all purposely go there to take pictures, didn't see they mentioned doing any shopping there (But for me hor, I also go there take pictures ya. Hahaha!)

    2. I always think these days all the business establishments tend to close one eye and allow photographs to be taken as they believe that could help bring more clients from FB publicity. I thought Ossoto Spa was strict but so many people snapped shots of bathers and no one stopped them. Why are we so cowards at times? I am one.

      Delete
    3. you are very right.. nowadays with social media, photos are the best proof and establishments also rely on social media for publicity.. there are bloggers all around, and if not, at least those who took photos have the intend to post stories on social media.. so, Anay's next trip to Ossotto Spa will be a photoshooting session too.. please inform me when you are going, so that i will avoid that day :D

    4. Hola!!! I think I won't be going for a very long time. Go and get yourself bogel there. I won't disturb la.

  2. Morning bloggers.. Wah, I see “finale” and “show hand” words, like so canggih like that.. I love all your Q&A’s..

About Fing, erm, when you mentioned banana milk, I want to drink also.. Maybe I can make my own.. I saw in 727 (Food Network) @ The Kitchen, they made frozen bananas, nutella and peanut butter, and blend.. Sedappp.. Maybe you should do for Fing and let him try.. But I don’t know if you refrain him from taking chocolate and peanut butter, heaty ma..

Your tomyam noodles look good, very hoiwai.. At first glance, I thought it’s a canned food.. You know, like those Ayam brand canned pineapples or canned fruit thingy.. After finished reading only I know it’s tomyam instant noodles..

Sorry, but I’m not attracted to Minions.. But Kz and G are.. They like to watch Minions in Youtube, Kz will type: Banana Song Minion in Youtube, and the irritating song will begin.. I will ask him to lower down the volume when that song is playing.. Have you heard about the Banana Song? Ba ba ba, baba nana, Ba ba ba, baba nana, Ba ba ba, baba nana, wah, help me, noisy song, but my boys like it, haha..

Oh, I asked the same thing about Chocolate Ville.. I feel the name is so weird since it’s just a restaurant.. It sounds so chocolatey and French-chy, like chocolate factory or chocolate tasting place..

Wah, I see your beer now I feel like drinking Shandy jor… I can drink 5 cans of Shandy at once.. Sorry ahh, you talk about beer and I bikin malukan diri talk about Shandy, but that’s what I like.. I like Shandy, ginger beer and Zapple..

    1. Yup I agree that this Q&A Post is quite unique style. Something FoongPC need to learn from you and cut down his long windedness.
I am so tempted to drink this Banana Milk now. Sounds so healthy and good for our colons.

    2. haha, like nobody ever end up a travelogue with a Q&A post hor?? i told you lah, i am always creative and unique one mah, haha!! wah, you can drink 5 cans of Shandy at once ah?? your stomach and i also want to say, your bladder, really big lor~~ :p

i also must learn from FoongPC how he can have so many posts about just one spot and then at least 30 very long posts for one single trip that spans more than a year..

  3. I have another question for you:
If [10 t-shirts, 1 polo tee, 5 shirts, 3 long pants, 3 bermudas, 3 shorts, 1 belt] is considered [i didn't buy a lot], how much exactly is a lot? XD

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 4F - you call that not a lot?

      Delete
    2. The amount of his shopping is a lot and a lot to me!!! I think he went for shopping and not for holidays! Wakakaka
Even when I am in KL, I rarely shopped so much in a week. i might might one shirt in 3 months and one pants in another 2 months. However when I shopped online for my wife's clothes, I would buy 10 at one go!!!

      Delete
    3. at least double that only consider a lot lah.. hahahaha!! :D

well, i guess you lagi terror because you just sit in front of the PC to click the mouse without moving even your big fat ass.. at least i went to shop and put on to try dei.. :p

    4. You indeed bought lots of clothing for yourself. I usually bought a lot of clothing too when I travel but they are usually for others. Anyway, it's a good buy as the clothes in bangkok is much cheaper.

I love Onions more than Minions. Probably I have passed my kiddo age to like cartoons and toys. Thambee is forever young at heart!

      Delete
    3. Anay loves only Bollywood anime and manga characters with big boobs, as big as his big fat ass!!! muahahahaha~~

      Delete
    4. Minions and in fact all cartoon characters are cute. Unfortunately they must have forgotten about Doraemon.

  5. 4F, i will bring an extra bag, something like your, to put extra things that i buy, if the luggage not enough space to put in the extra things...

    ReplyDelete

    1. yeah, nowadays when i go travelling, i always bring one extra bag just in case..

    2. It's convenient to put an extra bag into our luggage when we travel. We might need it at the end of the trip.

  7. I think my 40kgs luggage not enough for me >_<"

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Wah! 40kg is TOO MUCH and I think MASSS allows only 30kgs check in baggage. I think SK didn't buy that much till 30kgs. Ladies are bigger shoppers as they buy for themselves, their families and friends!!

      Delete
    2. 30kg check-in plus 10kg hand-carry, that is a total of 40kg!!

you want to bring the whole Chatuchak Market home is it?? :D

      Delete
    3. hello, shop for myself already used up 30kgs, I only spare 10kgs for hubby, daughter, my mom, sis, colleagues, friend etc... Wakaka, kua jiong hor...

    4. i thought you shop 150kgs for yourself only?? because you took up the 30kgs allowance from each of them, leaving them with only 10kg to use~~

  8. I used to get excited at whatever mall decorations and take photos but after a while, it got... meh...

But even back then, I won't purposely go take photos of every nook and cranny! And toilets - unless it's too darn hi-tech or interesting lah. :P

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I used to get excited and camwhore all the corners of the mall's decors but not anymore. I felt so shy and silly to do so unless i went overseas as people tend to ignore me there.

      Delete
    2. yeah, same same here.. in fact i can generalise that to taking photos (be it decor or food), i started getting excited but then now, meh~~~

  10. Oh... Initially I was blur when I read your blog till when I re-read again, especially the introduction, I realised this is still related to your Bangkok trip and you take the opportunity to answer all the questions. hahha... How nice and refreshing.....

Oh, yeah, I wouldn't take photos in the malls too unless there are something interesting like exhibit items like Avengers figurines, Doraemons, Pandas, festive decors, beautiful lightings or gorgeous ladies in lingeries at the stage... muahahaha....

Wah... taking photos of toilets and cleaners' uniforms? muahahahah... I guess you can try taking a selfie in the toilet, like most girls did.

Hey ..that's a nice bus in the mall!

    ReplyDelete

    1. true also lah, unless there are something very special in the shopping mall, else i also very "pai seh" to take photos.. and inside the toilet, errr, never lor later the cleaning auntie come in and scold me, hahahaha :D

  11. I thought you wanted to hang poor fing fing in your cabinet closet.. hahha... The chimp looks so cute hanging there by his neck! Yeah, this is one lucky monkey which follows you wherever you go and got banana milk too.

Watch monkey shows? muahahaha... That's really funny. I wonder where on Earth now got such circus shows. Btw , did the lucky monkey got hugged tight tight by your ladies colleagues ?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Talking about circus, I love watching circus. When I was young, my parent took me to watch circus, so much fun and i still remember those moment.

      Delete
    2. actually it's because i was bored, so i put Fing-Fing onto the hanger only lah, but he seems to enjoy it, wahahahaha!! errr, maybe circus got monkey show but it's so many years i have not been to one already.. you should bring your children to circus leh..

  12. Well, that's a very general question on tom yam. You know, during our excursion trip in Phuket, the first thing my wifey and I ordered were tom yam followed by their famous fried vermicelli (forgot the thai name already, something like Pho something).

Of course, I find their tom yam is much better than here. And, if we tried those really good ones, I am sure it's heavenly, with lots of seafood in the steam tom yum!!

So, how was the instant tom yum then? I guess it tasted like those you can find here la... after all, it's just ajinomoto and flavour powder.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. oppps... I asked you another question but I don't think there will be a post for Q&A for previous Q&A... muahahahahha

      Delete
    2. eih, pho is the Vietnamese beef noodles lah.. you mean Phad Thai is it?? the Thai version of CKT?? hehe.. oh, the tomyum instant noodles nice leh, just got from 7-Eleven downstairs..

      Delete
    3. Yeah Yeah..phad Thai!!

      Delete
    4. yeah, i think "phad" means fried in Thai.. i know fried rice is called "khao phad", khao means rice..

      Delete
    5. People always refer Thailand trip to tom yam. When I was there many years ago, I disliked tom yam. But now, I learn to like it. Actually it's very tasty and appetizing.

      Delete
    6. Cannot forget the Hilltop Tom Yam soup I had in Krabi Thailand

      Delete
  13. ah...question 4D was mine! :D

Yeah, so no doraemons huh , and a pretty simple toy expo. So , you pay to go in and see nothing much but only these two minions and a free paper fan ? The minions are cute but I am sure there are more stuffs there right unless all local toys ? OK la, if not so interesting, then no point wasting time on it. Got better things to do and go around right ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yalor, was walking around the mall to look for Doraemon but don't have leh.. anyway, i realise the Thai actually likes Doraemon leh, because can see supermarkets ah, banks ah, subway ah, they have Doraemon merchandise woh.. and it's inside the mall, no need to pay lah.. if need to pay, i won't get in at all lor~~ :p

  14. Yeah, the chocolate ville is just a place for sight-seeing and to take beautiful landscape pictures, as well as the designs of the buildings and park. That's what my little princess's gorgeous kindy teacher told me. I was about to go there last Dec but failed to book a trip which is fits my family schedule.

And, I also heard there's no chocolate made or sold there. Oh... the restaurants really so fully booked ah when it first opened ? I guess all folks flocked over there to have a good time then. So, was the eateries expensive and high class? hahaha....Another question...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anyway, they should make an effort to sell some chocolates here la... I am sure they can bring in some nice and high class chocolates .... hahaha

      Delete
    2. oh it was nice having dinner in Chocolate Ville leh, the food was nice and actually not expensive also.. i think you can bring your family there to take photos while having dinner next time you go to Bangkok again.. maybe by that time, they really sell chocolates already :p

      Delete
  15. So, you had the pork ribs and knuckles here in chocolate ville! When I refer back to your old posts, the food looks so good and it must be served by a high class restaurant. I didn't know the Thais love pork as the restaurants here usually served Tom Yam (as usual) in seafood or chicken , fried fish and chicken again, in pandan leaves. And, vegetables like kangkung too.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. actually not really that "high class" because the food are not expensive, can even be less than half the price what we have in KL leh.. they serve both western food as well as local Thai food, so it is a good blend.. eih, here mostly wanna go halal so of course not selling pork lah..

      Delete
  16. Wah....you bought so many shirts , short pants, long pants and bermudas and you said that's little? I don't think I will buy that many clothes...muahahaha... else I will need to get a bag there. So, was that your bag ? muahahaahaha.... Anyway, I am sure my wifey will nag me if I buy too many things as she will have a hard time packing up.

Anyway, Bangkok is a shopping haven and it's nice to buy whatever you like there. SInce you said very little, question.... did your friends or colleagues bought more than you ? hehehe.....

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. eh...you didn't mentioned your phone charger!

      Delete
    2. hahaha, i think if you bring your wifey there, she will buy as many as i bought for myself for you lor.. actually the clothes are nice and cheap, many shops in KL actually source the clothes from Thailand and then sell them extra expensive over here.. among us, i actually bought the least woh~~ :D

      Delete
  17. Oh... the last question from me too, an exercise freak!
Yeah .... me too, will put down all the workouts when I am on vacation although when I will check out the gymnasium in the hotel or cruise ship, as well as tempting to jog around the beautiful compound especially when I was in Cameron Highlands.

Well, you did show you walked more than 10K steps a day, that's good enough la. Already considered a lot of exercise. It's time to wind down and let you hair down and enjoy the vacation.

Anyway, it's good of you to control your diet when you are back home. That's very healthy!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hehehe, true lah, don't be such a freak lah.. just enjoy the good food and i think when we travel, we will walk more because we are not driving, so balance up lah, haha.. :p

  18. I love the beer in the last photo too and the way you cheers show that you are really having a real good, jolly time!! Well, everybody needed to take a long break away from work and doesn't matter where you go, most importantly is to be able to relax and give yourself a good nice break.

It's also time for me to plan for my holidays...muaahahahah

    1. hihihi, guess where this place is?? Chocolate Ville it is.. the beer is nice but have to finish it fast because of the weather, the beer not nice when not cold..

  19. 1, Ah so you did not take many photos in the Terminal 21 mall. I have actually read blogs of people who took photos at all the toilets at every floor.
    2. Careful Fing Fing, looks quite dangerous to be hanging on the hanger by your ketiak and not holding on to anything.
    3. Haha, one more question for you, did you actually eat the instant tomyum cup noodles in Bangkok or you bought it to give to yoru friend in KL?
    4. Luckily got minions that you recognised and also free paper fans so the time there was not in vain.
    5. So many houses but most are fake for landscaping and not used. One house just to put all the toilets there? Hopefully that house is not a smelly house.
6.Wow, the amount of clothes that you bought is what I bought for the last 10 years because I just wear handme downs nowadays.
    7. Very nice photo, celebrating life and giving a toast to life! Live and be Merry!
Another question - were you at Sri Petaling LRT station last week around 6.30pm during a weekday?

    1. muahahaha!!! i like how you described that pose by Fing-Fing, hanging by ketiak!! kekekeke..

oh, i had the tomyum cup noodles, got from the 7-Eleven downstairs, it was nice.. and hey?? i guess you bumped into me huh?? i am there everyday around that time to go home from work.. next time come over to say hi, okay?? :)

  20. Good morning bloggers. I know I am late but I am still awake at 1:00am.
This is too fast for Thambee's Bengkok post to end so fast. Oh well, he stay so many days like his Japan trips that could fill up so many posts for weeks! I guess nothing excites SK so much after having visited Bangcock several times. Like me, I have only posted about a wedding and funeral there. I was too lazy to snap photos for my blogs.

    1. that's it!!! i spent two months to blog about my Hokkaido trip, but for the same number of days spent on both trips, i only write 3 posts for the Bangkok trip, hahaha!! that's so unfair~~ :D

    2. I always had similar encounters like yours during my vacations in overseas. I would normally take over 1000 photos in both my mobile phone and compact camera. I ended up using no more than 20 photos per destination and ended up many became idle & grew maggots instead. I should take crash course from FoongPC and learn how to stretch our blog postings to 20 posts per holiday destinations. He is so long winded but detailed enough to entertain all the grandmothers who read. Muahahahahaha

    3. 4a – Now this Terminal 21 is getting me all excited to pay a visit when I hop over to Bangkok soon. I am waiting for my cousin there to give me the green light to have meeting with him at the Ministry of Education. Maybe I should tell him to bring me there as I doubt a man of his caliber and high profile might not have visited there till now. I know this Terminal 21 is located in a very convenient place off the stretch of Sukhumvit Road, near the BTS Wattana station. Do you know that certain part of Sukhumvit Road has the most expensive land & property prices where they cost higher than Tokyo and Hong Kong as reported by property watch dogs! This what I read from their website links - Sukhumvit Road is not only one of the longest boulevards in Thailand, but one of the longest boulevards in the world. Towards the west end it changes name to Phloen Chit Road and Rama I Road as it enters the Siam Square area, but to the east it runs most of the way to the Cambodian border.

Sometimes I would trust blogger's opinion and reviews better than other websites to describe the places. Now I believe your taste and likes for the shopping malls as you are a famed fussy aunty who tolerates no shortcomings and only part your money for value-for-money services and items. So..... I must go there to enjoy the different themes inside the Terminal 21 which should keep my eyes busy.

      Delete
    4. 4b – Luckily you didn't bring Fing Fing to see his comrades plucking the coconuts. Either he might enjoy applauding them or scream out to the NGOs over this animal rights and abuses done on his fellow friends. It is more enjoyabke to watch Fing Fing doing simple acrobatics on the clothes hangers as taught by his daddy. So he was inside the mall's changing room, hanging on the clothes hanger while SK stripped naked to try on his new clothes. Did Fing Fing laugh at your peacock fish?? Wakakakaka

I should also adopt a new toy and bring him along for my travels to blog it. I have seen this growing trends amongst our familiar bloggers doing so. I still have few anime figurines like Naruto!

      Delete

    5. 4c – What a sad thing that you are not a fan of Tom Yam Koong! I believe you are not a real Indian either as you avoid all the spicy and hot food. As for me, I love all the spicy hot Thai food and welcomes all Tom Yam soups like drinking heavenly nectar.

The chefs and entrepreneurs in Thailand are so aggressive and competitive to invent new types of eating cups and bowls that contain any type of food. The first time I saw packet instant Koay Chiap Duck Soup in dry form was during the 90s when I visited the Chinatown in US to buy Mama's Instant Tom Yam noodles. I was shocked that Thailand had produced the Koay Chiap in packets! Until today, they are still not sellimg in Malaysia. What is wrong with us??

    6. 4d- I didn't know that you are such a die hard fan of the Minions! I thought you were only crazy for Doraemon only but you have added on new idols! You never grow up and never grow old, my Thambee!!! Honestly I should learn from you and collect toys to sleep with them nightly. They should be able to keep my face and heart young like yours. Wakakakakaka

I thought you should be posting all the photos of other cartoon characters shown at the Thai Toys Expo as we are just curious to know what the Thais are playing with now. Their folks are quite creative and artistic to create many new cartoons in their TV shows.

      Delete
    7. 4e – What a funny place! Today I learn from you that it has nothing to do with chocolates and that is quite disappointing. I will never visit that place but opt to go to that Suen Phung Resort at Ratchaburi which is guaranteed to make Thambee and Fing Fing happy with its whole place that looks like the cutest places in Europe. Please google image that name and tell me that it looks interestingly like Europe.

      Delete
    8. 4f – OMG!!! OMG!!! You are really a certified shopping Mama like our Rosmamah!!! You bought so many things like her except a Birkin Handbag!!! Adoi! The amount of loots you brought back could last me till next year's Chinese New Year 2016. You said you bought 3 shorts and 3 Bermudas!! Are they both not short pants?? Don't tell me your Bermuda's length reached your knees while your shorts are really skimpy tight shorts that are popularly worn by the Thai whores? Wakakakakakaka How come you didn't buy all the famous Thai G-strings that are cheap and so kinky? Besides all the diva clothes, you didn't buy their tidbits back to munch? Next time, you should lay all your shopping loots onto the hotel's beds like other bloggers to share share lah!!

Your last photo showed you toasting your glass of beer! That's not you as you always hated alcohol esp beer. You probably borrowed this tall glass from the barmaid for your blog purposes. You should hold a glass of Chang Beer to show its Thai mood.

      Delete
    9. 4g – Who the heck asked you go exercise during the vacation? I even encouraged you to relax and drink coke! I knew that you would be walking for many kilometres daily and that could be the best form of daily exercise to hit your pedometer's 10,000 steps daily routine. Normally I would loose weight when I went for holidays that I never had to walk so much back home in Kuala Lumpur. I bet you came home happier and fitter with loosened waist line.

    10. i agree, writing too much details and publishing too many posts for one single trip will surely bore the readers.. that is why i have only 3 for this trip, haha!!

4A - oh really?? the Sukhumvit Road is the longest one in the world?? from the center of Bangkok to the border of Cambodia??!! that's amazing!!

4B - we all know what is Anay's toy lah.. that inflated doll with a big mouth, big boobs and also a big "down under"!! :D

4C - yeah, you are observant!! i am slowly avoiding spicy food..

4D - why you did not know i also like Minions besides Doraemon??!! i thought this is already not a secret!!! OMG, my Anay didn't even know this while all other bloggers knew!!

4E - i would want to go to the real places in Europe than seeing all the replicas dei~~

4F - haiyoh, those are for work, for leisure, for normal, for workout.. so you split them into these few categories, and you only have just nice for each event.. how to last till CNY?? unless i tell you i bought 20 shirts and 20 pants, then that would last till next year for my working attire :p

4G - i will never do that la.. just enjoy the good food, and worry later!! :D

Very interesting concept leh. Big wide area for dining.

Food looks very good la . Yummy too.

Guess there is no problem like McD and KFC where some customers will makan and just leave their rubbish everywhere gua. Else habis how the staffs there going to hunt down every nook and corners for the rubbish.

3 month long ah the queue. Then now kira very good liao lo. no need to wait long and can go makan there. Your Thailand friend very good wor to bring you there to makan. Up the hill right? must be far.

    3. I am always very curious to know the origins of certain food where sometimes the Malays and Thais have similarities. I realised the Thais only cooked Tom Yum soups whereas in Vietnam and Cambodia, they do not have this. Even the North of Thailand, the Tom Yam is bluek and messy looking. So I guess this dish is popular in the central Thailand all the way to the South where the border states of Malaysia also cook them a lot. Just my 2 cents

ooh Yannie that is not good, you like to compare with others and want to be the best.. i think it's better to think whether you need that or not.. in the end if you are buying less, then you can be proud because you have more money left than your friends, hahaha!!

actually the clothes are for work, normal wear and also for exercise use.. if you divide them into these categories, then it's just nice a few pieces for each, how to last time next year?? :D

So she would be happy to have rugged activities like mountain hikes and follow me to see historical sites, nothing more. We always checked in one luggage with minimal weight & return with the same weight. We do a lot of window shopping and people watching. Many times, she read books under the trees while I went inside the museum alone for 2-3 hours!!!

I won't deny that Hong Kong and Japan have the most lovely malls to shop lovely things. Probably our past bad experiences have taught me good lessons not to shop and carry too much home. Remember my Xian trip??? Adoi...

Good example is Asahi, Hoegaarden and some real English beer. I tried real English beer straight from the taps in London and it was great. Thai beer is so so.

Yep, the themes in Terminal 21 are plentiful! I think only those crazy in photography will go and take photos at every corner... Most people go there is to shop/eat so may be will just snap a few photos enough, won't really go and take all the photos....

LOL, true also la, how can Fing Fing ask for more? He is already one lucky monkey in the world!

Oh but to me, I must have at least one meal of tomyum if I go Thailand. I think their tomyum is authentic and cheap.

So the expo wasn't that interesting huh? If for me I will not go la, since I am not a fan of any expo. I will spend the time go shopping or eating instead, kekek!

Thanks for sharing about the Chocolate Ville! I see from photos it looks like a nice place, the decorations are so interesting! Go there take photos also very nice~

Haha, you are so nice, reader asked and you went and count how much you bought! I din't do that last time, but one thing for sure, I needed an extra bag for my loots! Lucky I brought that... And I even chose extra luggage weight when I book the air ticket, xD

Actually beer in Thailand also quite nice, not that bitter one, and best of all cheaper than what we have here. I tried a few when I was in Hatyai, erm to be precise, I took a few sips from my hubby's drink, just to taste la, hehe!ac
