Given Them All Back to the Teachers
i wonder if you have read or still remember the post about having found my kindergarten report card?? in that same box, i have also found some of my high school exam papers, which i have kept for almost 20 years (okay, go ahead and calculate my age)!! i held them in my hand, took a look and can't help myself from saying "what the f**k are these questions all about??!!", hahahaha!! i tried to solve the questions, but i just could't...

...and yet 20 years ago, i was able to do that!! how amazing, i don't know what i was doing!! i guess the saying "given all back to the teachers" is so true on me.. look at my score back then, of couse i have chosen the best ones, failed ones cannot be shown here mah, hehe!! but i can only show you the test sheets since exam sheets were not given back to students to prevent fraud.. i guess i will definitely fail with "an egg" if i am to sit for these papers now, muahahahaha!! :D

睇下有邊位知道啲試卷講緊乜?? 話是話, 眾多博客之中, 有邊位係同我同一間中學㗎??
take a look and see if anyone knows what those papers are all about?? haha.. BTW, who amongst bloggers come or came from the same high school as i?? :)

See all the paper you keep until all turn yellow already, you should keep them forever so next time when your kids not good in study, you can use this to inspire them!!

    2. Morning Xiao Ying. Wah you also keep exam paper ya last time.

Ya wor...good idea. SK should keep them leh. Not only to inspire the kid coz by the kids grow up maybe all these will be beneath them already. Now education system had changed so much.

Last time if Math problem , if we answer wrong but got the "rangka" there..there will be marks for the work done. But now...wrong answers means zero liao.

SK should keep them as antique leh. By the time he is 60..the resell value maybe increase a lot lo. There are some serious collector who will collect these exam paper leh

      Delete
    3. Look at this drunken cat talking. Muahahahaha
I hope to live to see SK selling this antique papers when he reaches 60. Who on earth are serious collectors for exam papers other than DBKL? I am just curious. LOL

    4. who knows one day the Education ministry wanna do a survey of private skools "standard" back in 50 years ago...then this paper is valuable lor!

    5. I'm thinking of like if keeping for so long, maybe until the generation where they don't use exam paper and use all electronic version so then all these paper become very valuable can open a museum to put all in for display already!!!

    6. hahaha, not all the papers i scored so good marks lah.. as mentioned, i only picked the few that i have high scores to show only.. other not so good ones, hide away lah, hahahaha!! :D

oh, 小影 studied in the school opposite!! errr, but i think when you were studying there, Uncle already graduated from high school and went somewhere else already, haha~~ :D

hmmm, maybe i shall keep these papers for another 10 years and then compare with the papers from the children of our readers here.. but wah, 10 years more?? i wonder if i am still blogging by then, hahahaha!!

    7. Hahaha!!! Yah lo!! But easy to mention I was studied the school in front mah! Lazy to type the name, coz now I don't know my school still call Jalan Ipoh or not, after they changed the road name! Hahahaha!!!

Must keep on blogging! As long as we keep on comment here, you've no reason to stop blogging!!! Wahhahahaha!! (Like so thick face, hehe!)

    8. i think that change of name thing was put on hold already leh.. if not then i also not so sure because only part of Jalan Ipoh was proposed to changed name to Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, dunno if our school there will be affected, haha.. but if renamed to Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah still i can remember, because i know this Sultan..

      Delete
    9. Wah!! You know this Sultan some more!! You really geng la!! I think I only remember the sultans where I studied in history last time!! Nowadays one, I don't know who is which state one Lo!!

    1. Now even standard 1 punya work I also need to puzzle out the answer leh. How la like that if as me to do Lower Six punya puzzle in SK exam paper tu.

Hmmm...I have an idea. Why not SK do a test here and....post up some of his exam paper questions and see how many of us can answer them here (without googling) . Must be based on trust la. No cheating. Just look and think and reply with answer.

      Delete
    2. Put a add math questions, and states without calculator, that's fun!! =]

      Delete
    3. i think the standard becomes higher huh?? i mean nowadays the kids learned more and the questions are also more complicated that invokes more thinking.. last time usually if we can "hafal" or with a little deductions then can answer, but now more logical thinking needed??

      Delete
    4. This reminds me my second nieces, her homeworks were like so tricky, they give something like 马拉虫,give you a word, then you create another word after that, but the word also have to can link with the next following words!! Sweat, the whole family have to sit there to help her think, hahaha!!

      Delete
    5. eih, like that the homework is fun woh, more lively and more tricky mah.. no need to just hafal all things.. hehe!! :p

    6. Hahaha!! My brother even have to take out the Chinese dictionary to find got such word or not, guess usually we do what's given last time, go through the texbook then can found already! Now theirs one is much in thinking, nothing as reference!! =[

    7. but it's fun lor i actually think.. one whole family all gather to help to solve the problem of the homework.. it's family bonding time!! :)

    1. haha, i wasn't good especially when in Form 4 where we were new to Physics in English (i think we used the A-Level syllabus starting Form 4).. but this one in Form 6, the teacher set the question straight forward like those in our textbooks that's why i scored :D

      Delete
    2. That's really good!! Guess that time wasn't have that much reference exercise books also! So whoever studied the textbook also can score!! =]

      Delete
    3. yeah.. last time one textbook was all we need hor?? now the students have got many different reference books like in uni??

      Delete
    4. Hahaha!! My uni is totally different, only got one book, that's the textbook! Want to find other reference or exercise to do also don't have!! If questions don't know only can go see the lecturer to ask or discuess with friends! Which also make me go see my lecturer very often last time, hehe!!

      Delete
    5. wah so good one?? my uni most of the subjects are based on lecture notes, the lecturer just gave brief point forms and then we gotta go and dig for reference books they suggested to find out more details on those points lor.. then everyday 扑 at the library to borrow the same book, haha!!

  4. But for some weird reason, I liked calculus! But of course lah, right now don't ask me to do any calculus because this auntie forgotten most of it. What I remember is that dy dx thingy. My God! Thsi post really brings back memories of my additional maths class!

    ReplyDelete

    1. I also like calculus!! But don't really like those the calculation needs to write few page to calculate to get the answer one...coz write until hand also want to patah, hahaha!! =]

    2. oh yeah, i actually enjoyed the Add Maths, Higher Algebra, Calculus and Geometry in Form 6.. i think it was mainly because the teacher was very good and made us clear of all the concepts, and i enjoyed her class..

      Delete
    3. Actually the teacher does influenced the students hor!! If the students really like the subject but the teacher like don't care don't care or wasn't pay that much attentions to the students, it will cause the student finally reduce the interest of the subjects!!

      Delete
    4. you are right, i agree with that!! i think i enjoyed and then like the subject because the teacher was good in teaching and serious in bringing up the students..

    1. Yah hor?! I didn't really that, I thought Chung Hwa one are in Chinese? Or you get to choose which language you wish to use to answer?? As like last time was the last year to use BM in science and maths, so my SPM paper has two languages, BM and English!! But that time they just simply change like so fast, who care to study in the English version!! Even the tracher also still teach in BM, so basically the English version were just for disply, for us!! But who knows maybe some people would try to solve it in English version that I don't know la, hehe!!

      Delete
    2. yeah, we used the A-Level syllabus starting Form 4 (at the same time we also studied the SPM syllabus), that is why we studied the subjects mostly in English.. in my time SPM only Malay, and then we actually studied two languages at one time.. well this is Chung Hwa, hahaha!!

  6. Wah seh! 100% in physics test! I salute you! That was my worst subject. Physics = Die standing! Your handwriting also very neat, huh? Even under exam situation. You must have been very cool. Physics is "sap sap suey" to you.

      Delete
    3. music lah, muahahahahaha!! always just barely pass the subject.. and then when i was in Form 6, Malay was the worst.. there was even one karangan that the teacher commented: sangat lemah, jumpa saya..

muahahahaha!!! of course now i laugh, but that time i was so angry, because we all also very dislike that teacher leh..

      Delete
    4. Hahahaha!! That's my favorite subject wor!! Which i don't need to study at all, coz I was taking piano class, so everything has learned before, don't have to care I would scare to fail that subject, hehe!!

Form 6, Malay Ya!! I think j can imagine that, as I always heard Form 6 is very difficult to study, so I think is fine le!! Lemah or not I guess good to communicate nowadays is completely unless you're work in the government department which needs the official documents hands in Malay then got a bit difficult lo!!

      Delete
    5. when in Form 6 actually Malay wasn't that important already.. because i didn't take STPM but the 獨中統考, so all other subjects are either in English or Chinese only.. that time all the maths and physics subjects are taught in English, only biology and geography in Chinese..

  7. I love all these three paper, easy to score, don't gimme the language paper like BM the permahaman, peribahasa thing which I really don't know the meaning, English the comprehension one and the writing paper I would have all grammar mistakes!! Even Chinese the "wen yan wen" also is killing me, I like history, but not the 文言文 type!! Also the 名句精华 which got to memorize like crazy...yah!! And the moral paper...which I would never score good in that no matter how I studied, wait! Does it mean I don't have moral?? (curious~~)

  10. SK, I clicked on your first picture I already gave up! Phobia you know? Ok, let me story you a bit.. I was in Science stream in form 4 & 5, but I always failed or did very badly in Physics and Chemistry.. My best subject were Biology and History, coz I “tuk sei shue” (direct translation: study dead book).. And so, when I clicked on your first picture and see the word “Mechanics”, oh dear, I can go hide in a corner liao..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Phobia la looking at all your pictures.. Brings back my not-so=happy secondary school memories.. You know, lastime when I was in secondary school, I felt very sanfu one you know.. I no “koli” to stay in Science stream one, but that time, automatically arranged by the school jor geh..

Those are got full A’s for PMR, would be automatically sent to Science stream.. And *ahem*, Princess here got full A’s for PMR, that’s why automatically sent to Science stream lor..

And you know la, that time, students like us diam-diam and just follow the flow, not like youngsters nowadays, if don’t like, can march up to Headmaster’s office and say don’t want Science stream, wana “relax” and “honeymoon” in Arts class although we are over-qualified for it, un? So leh, looking back at your papers, I phobia jor leh now..

    2. Second picture I “mou yan jeong” leh, what’s that? Under add maths or physics? Wait, calculus ahh? Aiyo, I pening la.. I know sin cos and tan, but if you put all together ask me do, I go die la..

      Delete
    3. Ok, the third one I’m ok a bit.. Equation.. A,B thingy.. This one, I think I’m ok.. I’m quite good at this, as far as I remember.. Draw graphs and all right, this one ok.. It’s under Maths, not add Maths, so still ok kot..

      Delete
    4. Wah, your fourth one, ok wor.. English very good.. handwriting very good too.. But I don’t understand the contents leh.. Wah, malu lor, I everything dunno, really give back to teachers liao like you said..

    6. Same here, Louiz. I was "forced" into science stream when I wanted Commerce because the school I was transferred to did not have that stream. I was also unhappy in secondary school. My best subject pun is Biology but no history in Form 4 because that was only for the Arts stream.

      Delete
    7. I wanted Perdagangan too, in Art Stream, but those days, nobody (dared) to do anything because:
      1) It was "automatically" arranged by the school
      2) If you want to change from Science to Arts, people will think you are "showing off", like "hey, so many people wana be in Science stream, and you want to change to Arts?" mindset..
      3) Some would feel "no face" or "downgraded", so they prefer to just keep quiet and stay in Science stream and deng ngang seong..

      Delete
    8. LOL...lucky when I got science stream I changed stream

why would people wanna think those who change stream wanna show off? I dont understand leh. Coz it depends on what line of work you wanna go into ma. If science stream more will wanna go to those Doctor and aomething that related to science.

My school , the Principal told us that if we were to change stream , we will have to change school. I was upset at that time coz will be move away from friends that I knew since standard 1. But die die still change la. And glad to say that am happy la. End up there were around 50 students also wanna change stream . And they open up a whole new class for us.

Tark loose face one la. Even our Head Boy also change stream mah.

    9. Downgrade? Got such thing?? Mbo matter what you studied as long as get to earn money and survive yourself and your family is fair enough! Those show off all look one just that they see what's in front of them also!! People see further one!!

      Delete
    10. wah, got such things one ah?? i thought which stream, Arts of Science, is totally up to the student to choose?? going to which stream based on your results is totally a rubbish.. it must all base on what the student wants to do mah.. and it's stupid that better students are presumed to go to Science stream and that Arts stream is honeymoon!! aiyoh, that is totally a nonsense thinking leh..

in our school, we were free to choose whether we want to go for the Science stream or Arts stream.. just that one very common situation is, more girls chose Arts and more guys chose Science.. there is no comparison between Arts and Science classes, all treated as equal.. because solving complicated maths equation is as tough as solving complicated balance sheet lah.. also memorizing history is taking as much time as memorizing the equations.. :D

      Delete
    11. Got le! For their "law" is like that le!! Actually I found it quite a 肤浅 thought!! Usually studied marketing one, many become boss, then mostly studied science goes to the professional skills then work for the boss! Actually so now who's the better Ya!! Must think further, like mine time also, especially if you're in the science stream already then switch the art stream then it wil become a gossip for the rest of the students throughout the whole January or even more longer than that!! >.<

      Delete
    12. wah, got such things one ah?? but luckily my school really allowed the freedom, it all depends on the students' will and choices, no one will say anything also..

Something to do with light refraction on a prism and how many degrees blah..blah..blah... And this auntie pening-pening in the middle row and some specky guy at the front row shot his hand up and said "Sir, there's a mistake in your equation". I was like huh? what? what? 3. errr, i was just an average student in class woh, there were more smart classmates.. i was one of the quiet ones that the teacher hardly notice me leh.. we usually identified a few students as top students, and if we have any "difficulties" in completing our homework, we will always target those students for "help" lah.. because our homework also contributes to our final score leh, so must do them properly..

      Delete
    4. I've experienced that, especially the day before or few hours before the class, still haven't finish, faster go see the smart one and ask for "help" and usually not just only, there few of us, we're like 火锅上的蚂蚁, super nervous we can't manage to finish it!! >.<

Then will be very noisy lor especially when there is dispute on the answers. Those who managed to argue for the correct answers will have extra marks. So much fun back then

My time, sometimes cikgu like to give test and ask us copy the question from the blackboard. and he/she will erase to make space for more question. My writing jadi like cakar ayam leh.

  23. Looks like these are Mathematics papers. When I studied in my Form 6, these papers called "Matematik Lanjutan". I was a double maths student too when I in my Form 6. Mechanics paper is the toughest paper in my form 6, I reckon.

Actually Mathematics is my favourite paper. I wish my girls are good in Mathematics too.

I still use those sine and cosine and differentiation/integration formulas now, but, not using paper and pen to calculate anymore lo, now just insert the values, click a button and the answer comes out. If I want sine wave then I just press some buttons on my function generator and the signal will come out! I can't do the exams anymore either! :D
