yes, we accept that the promotional image used is for illustration purposely only, we understand that it's just RM2.95 and we know that you have used all the right ingredients.. but can you please train your kitchen crew to love their job and to show professionalism, at least prepare food that look just a little more presentable to go with the image of your company?? it's the appetite as much as the right taste you are seeking for in your customers' satisfactions.. thank you!!

you will understand that this is surely not a paid post if you compare what you see and what you get photos above..

    2. Not that I'm hogging the pc, kam ngam I'm composing and drafting a post to be published tomorrow or Thursday, so when I update my draft, I see your post update in my feed jor.. So I ma try my luck and comment lor.. Eh, timm chii, I'm the first wor today..

    3. Ooohh, about today's topic, biasa la.. "for pat tui pan".. I've seen this kinda thingy numerous times, especially in burger joints too.. Wont be mentioning which one, but my case similar as yours la..

    4. The meat/chicken in the ad looks so big, juice and long, with lots of sauce oozing out, the cheese with 4 sharp corners melting, lettuce with mayo overflowing.. But the real thing? Errr, soggy and very small flat meat, dry, not juicy, cheese macam cut into half, but it's melted, so I won't know if they use a whole single slice of cheese, then lettuce wilted and yellow, no mayo...

      Delete
    5. Back to your picture, frankly, I can't see the sausage.. I can see the bread, lettuce, mayo and brown sauce la.. But really wor, I can't see the sausage.. Maybe it's too small already, til it's hidden underneath.. hehe..

      Delete
    6. The sausage in the ad certainly looks so good, resting on that piece of green, topped with mayo and brown sauce in a ziggy-zaggy way, fuiyoh, got pattern somemore.. But the real thing, errrm, looks a bit cincai lor, simply chuck inside only.. But I think can eat la, hor?

      Delete
    7. actually they have everything that is supposed to be in that hotdog, I dont expect exactly or close to the one in the picture.. but then what I got was like a mess, see the lettuce and the sauce?? you can just use "yat pet yeh" to describe lor..

      Delete
    8. Princess Ribbon, I thought the same thing also, until I saw an update in my feedly, I also surprise, I though saw wrongly, hahaha!!

Really like "yat pet yeh" la!! But sometimes when see this also I don't comment much on it first, wait till everyone has finish then only comment, because things like this, you don't say it, mentioned about it, no one thought about it or imagine about it, if after I said about it like "hat pet yeh" they will start thinking about it, and don't have to eat it anymore, I'll felt so bad to the food, coz no one will eat it in the end because of my one word, right?

  2. Is always like this, lots of fast food branches are like that, the promote picture must be very attractive then only attract costumers mah...but those worker behind just chi cai du only, roughly roughly xi xi dan dan then okay liao...

    1. They always said the picture is illustration picture, but the actual one, don't know they really go make one actual thing to take picture or not, some they even got the picture online then "gu wuak gu wuak" add in price and title say this's their products!! Like that also can?? Serious....

I remember not long ago, that's one youtuber, he went all different fast food chain to make an experiment to check they actual food look exactly like the same or not, then make a comparison!! And also one go to one fast food chain can't remember what brand is that chain, he asked the staff to make exactly the same thing out like the picture, but in the end no matter how hard the staff tried only can make one like roughly the same but not like the exact same one!

    2. yeah I understand that also.. it's not that they 偷工減料 but it's the presentation, too much different from the picture, or shall I say 面目全非 which is more precise.. really no appetite at all after seeing it lor~~

    3. Hahaha!! That's what's call business and advertisement, advertisement must do nice nice like almost match perfect to attract the customers, once customer bought it, they don't care anymore, because they've already earn the money of it, unless really got people got the heart and motive tended to complain the sue the restaurant!! Nowadays not much "良心企业家", see the Taiwan the food oil...sigh~~~

I wonder if we can complaint to the consumer association and will there be action taken

    ReplyDelete

    1. yalah they totally abuse the terms "for illustration purpose only".. like that they can just give me a chicken burger instead of beef burger since what you see is not what you get mah.. duh!!

  5. I know this one which you highlighted. Their so call promotion also always more or less For Illustration Purposes.

They have an outlet in shah alam. Went there before. The enviroment and ambiance there was good but mak oi....Toilet forever "under maintainance". Duno whether they malas cuci or what la

Any way their food okay okay la

But recently we baru noticed that they give only half cheese. if want one piece of cheese have to buy the double burger. But in the poser shows wahhhhh the cheese melimpah out soooooooo much leh

  9. Sorry, I really have to LOL when I saw the difference...!! Not that it is funny, it is because I also experienced it before.. not from this company but from a few others.. all the illustrations looked so attractive one.. but when the real food was served, I asked the waitress... "Huh... like this?" She just smiled and walked away.. see also no appetite, I tell u... so.. next time, we better not expect too much from certain outlets... they really made us lose our appetite...

    1. that's it lor.. I actually understand the "for illustration purpose only" thingy and already accepted it, but this one really deviates too much from what I see!! looks more like cincai dump the things and splat the sauce then deliver to customer, that's too much I think!!

  10. Ah, the adventures of the "invisible frankfurter", and that presentation must have instantly sent your appetite packing. Ouch!

Reminds me of the shock the first time I ordered that wrap from Mr Ronald's. It's so much tinier than what I expected. Inflation?

  14. Clearly a case of misrepresentation. The actual product is so far off from the photo on the advertisement.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. exactly!! like totally a different story!! and you also think so huh??

      Delete
  15. This is quite common for fast food promotions. The burger in the advertisement looks so big and the fillings are generous. But when you buy it, the actual burger is so small. What a let down.

    ReplyDelete

    1. yeah, the real kitchen crew will not be able to make something close.. because those photo models are delicately prepared by "food engineers" and shot by professional food photographers.. I accept that "for illustration purpose only" but then at least make the real thing more presentable!! agree??

      Delete
  16. This does not only happen for food. Some products in catalogues can also be different from the actual product.I experienced before with costume jewellery. That's why I never buy stuff by mail order or online (except books). I must see the actual product first before I buy it. But can't do that with burgers or other fast foods :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. ah, food as long as edible then let it be.. but those products you mention, must really see the real thing and better still try them on first before you buy.. :)

    3. I never actually expect things I get to look exactly like those on the menu, and I titally accept the "for illustration purpose only" thingy, but then don't deviate too much like this case of mine, though I understand it's unlikely they could make something as close..

  19. Good Afternoon Bloggers!

I have this bad experience many times and just suffered in silence. I think even the restaurants with a'la carte menus would also serve you disappointing plates of food that looks smaller and uglier than the yummy photos!! Seeing is believing.

  20. Good day SK! I am back in action, LOL! But only can afford to leave one or two comments in each post, cannot spam like last time already, hoho! But better than none la right? =)

So, this chicken jumbo frank as per illustrated looks good abd JUMBO! The bun looks smooth wo, and the sausege looks like bigger then the bun, and the lettuce (I guess so) is arranged nicely! Then the dressing on top of the sausege, got pattern somemore, overall very presentable and tempting, plus it's only RM 2.95!! Hmm, very interesting tactic to lure customers to buy!

But when looking at the actual photo, hoho, I understand why you wrote 冇晒胃口 lo!! Bun wise, looks okok la, but where is the sausege?! And the lettuce, all koyak koyak already one~ Then the dressing, 肯本是乱来的! Seriously like that also can present and serve to the customer? Ini boleh report ni.... Go post in FB let them famous! xD
    Really lack of professionalism la!

I know many promotional images are for illustrated purpose only, but yours is too much la! Totally cannot see the sausege! Hmm you should have take photo as the same angle as the advertisement one, like that we all can see the difference obviously.

Actually this case is not uncommon la hor? Many times I get the burger smaller than what it's advertised, the meat is smaller, the dressing is so little, the color of the fries are weird, the side dishes are too little and etc. I think as the merchant they should be honest when it comes to business, at least not that much difference la!! If different 10-20% still acceptable (我也不是无理取闹的消费者),but it different so much how to tell the customer to accept right? Haih!

So I am sure this so called chicken jumbo frank din't feed your tummy also lo? For me I also won't feel full la. So end up did you go buy/find something else to eat? Or you were too angry and disappointed till you din't feel like eating anymore? :p

    2. yes I agree that this thing is not uncommon, and I don't usually bother to care about how my burger looks like, as long as can makan then okay lah.. I also accept that "for illustration purpose only" and that they can never prepare something close to the picture.. but but but, this case ah, really too much like I can just use 面目全非 to describe.. at least make it more presentable not just simply campak the veggie then splat the sauce on top and the deliver to the customer.. come to think of it, it's like an disrespect to the customer lor, even the food serve to pets also look nicer right?? that's why I took a photo and posted on their FB, but took them more than a week to give me that generic response only.. haiz!!

      Delete
    3. Yea I agree, if difference a bit then acceptable la, but what you shared is really too much lo! The staff is just lazy la! 肯本不在意pun... If for me I will sure got angry also...

  21. wah hahaha.... so much different between the promotional and actual stuff. Anyway, this is normal la. Even if it's restaurant also like that. First of all, they needed to entice you folks to buy. That's how marketing agencies earn their money. Agreed?

    ReplyDelete

    1. this thing is normal but this extreme case is too much beyond my acceptance limit la..

  22. I remember two weeks ago I went to some well known chicken franchise restaurant. The chicken was not cooked and the skin was not even golden crispy as what I saw on ads in tv or other mass media. I almost felt like eating chicken sashimi.
I wonder where is the QA....I thought there's a procedure for them to follow like cook for how many minutes and how much grams of ingredients to put in ....etc etc. I blame it on the management!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. aiyoh you were dining in or have them as takeaway?? if you were dining in, just throw back your chicken to them and ask them to give you better ones!! be loud and fierce and firm if they don't entertain your polite request.. they will surely give in to loud customers.. hahahaha!!!

      Delete
  23. So, did you complain to the management on the above, or just eat and never returned? As for me, I don't think I will ever return to that same restaurant unless they buck up....where I can see long queues everyday.

    Replies
    1. I tabao back and only saw this mess later, so I took a photo and posted on their FB, let everyone sees this lor.. but took them more than a week to come back with a generic response.. haiz!!

      Delete
  24. Frankly I do agreed with you that they shouldn't deviate too much from the promotional poster. At least, put in some efforts to make it like the 'real' thing in everyone's expectations. With that, I am sure there will be more business for them, no harm doing that for them.

However, some incompetent and irresponsible managers on the QC area with a crew which is not motivated will definitely dished up such standards.

    ReplyDelete

    1. yes, I accept the fact that what we see are just "illustration" and won't expect to get exactly the same thing.. still, we are expecting something presentable and make us feel like eating right??

  27. Oh dear SK, this is really horrible. The advert says Chicken Jumbo Frank. In the what you get photo, jumbo, what jumbo? I can't even see any sausage in the bread and they really put too much sauce on it.

Like this, must really take a photo and complain to the management. Even though the pamphlet will have fine print disclaimer saying the photo is only an illustration and does not represent the real product but they really should not give such a badly put together sausage bun.

For me, I will ban this eatery forever and ever and ever. This is really unacceptable. If it happened to me, I will just eat it this one time only and never patronise this eatery every again and tell all my friends not to go there.

I would not dare to reject it and ask for another sausage bun because I am afraid that they will put additional stuffs in the replacement sausage bun. additional stuff like their spits or "hingus" and etc.

So no choice lah if encountered poor service like this. Just complain to their management and ban the place forever and ever.

  28. Wah! So big different between these two pictures. The one you get is worse than Yannie makes at home one. Heheheh! Yannie can make better than what you get la!
Most of the time is like that, what you see isn't same as what you get. This makes us feel like being cheated. What to do? Just boycott this fast food restaurant in future. I will definitely boycott.

    1. haha, very true, such a big difference and I guess we all can do something much much much better than that huh??

  29. Actually the presentation of food is very important one. Make the hotdog bun until like that, no appetite to at all. In fact, Yannie isn't good in cooking, but Yannie loves making food more presentable when serves to JAM. Hehehe! So that JAM will give Yannie a like, kekekek!
