2015.11.26 | 又再曼谷

[Volume 10 Issue 11, #2077]
It's Bangkok, Again..
when this post is published, i should have already checked in and waiting for my flight back home from Bangkok.. yeah, this is my second trip to Bangkok this year, this time two days on business and another two days on leisure.. nothing much that i have to blog, so just one simple post to conclude it all and for a record.. i think we all love short and sweet (travelogue) posts, don't we?? hehe!!
Bangkok Trip Again
酒店就喺正國家體育場對面, 由十九樓房間望出去嘅靚景色..
hotel is located directly opposite of the National Stadium, great view from my room on the 19th floor..
Bangkok Trip Again
喺曼谷其實唔係行街買嘢就係食嘢, 今次好似食日本嘢多噃.. :p
i guess it's all about eating in Bangkok besides shopping, and i think i had Japanese more this time.. :p
Bangkok Trip Again
當然少不了小食啦, 因為樓下就有間麥當勞, 隔離就有間7-11, 怪佢太過方便, 哈哈!!
of course, did not miss out snacking since McD is just below and 7-11 is just next door, blame the convenience, haha!!
Bangkok Trip Again
最後, 展示下兩日逍遙遊所斬獲到嘅戰利品, 當然比上一次少得多啦~~
lastly, some clothes i bought during the two days on leisure, surely less than what i had from the previous trip~~

  1. Sawadee Krub Nong Thambee SK!!! You went to BangCock again!! i think you kena charmed by its lovely food and shopping paradise. I feel like going there soon but cannot find the right time and $$$.

Your king sized bed was so huge and comfortable with a panoramic view of the skyline of Bangkok! Thambee lived like an emperor while Anay lived in pigeon holes at Tokyo. Eh... you didn't bring Fing Fing there with you and he cried buckets of tears seeing your new Brown Teddy Bear on your bed!!

    1. Sigh! You ate Japanese food in Bangkok instead of your usual Tom Yam Koong and Pad Thai. What happened to Thambee?? You should have eaten your native's Tiruchirappalli tosai and pompadam with cheesy mutton curries with extra hot spicy paneer! Yengga Porreng Ngeh??
Mai Pen Rai! Mai Pen Rai! You can eat Thai food here when you come back to Kuala Lumpur. Did you go to Jatuchak Market?? I see your trip was brief yet fun and crazy?

    2. i did not choose to go there but it was a business trip and i had to go.. been to Thailand many times and ate lots of Thai food, this time savor the Japanese food in Thailand which are tens of times better than those we have here.. didn't manage to go to Chatuchak Market this time dei..

    3. Waaah! I just gazed at your shopping loots! You bought close to 10 pieces! They must be cheap and nice for you to buy so much. When I was young, that was before I started working, my mum would only buy almost all my clothes from Thailand as they were dirt cheap and more fashionable. Until today, many Malaysians love to shop in Bangkok or Ha'adyai because they are very cheap. I didn't pay much attention to shopping there for a long time as I guess my age has caught up with me until I forgot about shopping in overseas.

Leisure or business trip also never mind, I am sure you get to enjoy anyway~

Anyway, it was indeed a surprise to know that you traveled to Bangkok again! So syok! Hmm, single and young must enjoy first, else later got kids already will become harder... Not to say cannot travel when got kids la, but will be slightly inconvenient lo, imagine need to pack all sorts of baby/kids stuff, and will be mentally and physically tired, everything also kids come first.

How I wish for a holiday now!! :( This year din't manage to travel oversea also... Hopefully next year I can go somewhere to enjoy and relax!

Bangkok is one of the place I wish to revisit! Miss their food, cheap massage and most importantly, the shopping!! xDD

    2. Bangkok is always a top choice for ladies as a shopping and massage haven. I remember Hayley went there and bought 1001 pieces of clothes for herself and family. If not mistaken you stayed at Baiyoke Hotel too. Hmmmmmm.... I have been wanting to stay at Baiyoke Hotel and eat breakfast above the clouds!

      Delete
    3. yeah, because i didn't do much things that worth to blog about, hahaha.. it's about meeting with customer (this one what to blog woh??) and then shopping and eating and massaging only.. and so the photos above tells all what i did, short and sweet and don't need to be long-winded lah..

nah, the McD Samurai pork burger is nothing.. go try their BK and they have options for either beef or pork for all their burgers!! even nicer.. i always order their double BBQ cheeseburger with bacon and stress that i want pork, hahaha!!

      Delete
    4. TM, yes, always a top choice, hehe!
Erm where got 1001 clothes? 1000 only la, hahaha xD Yea it was cheap and nice I even bought for my close friends!

As for hotel, nope, I stayed at Metz but not Baiyoke, but I did dine at their rooftop with my friend, our buffet birthday dinner =)

SK, true also, memang nothing much to blog, takkan blog about which customer you met, right? LOL!
Oh their BK nice?? Okok next time must try, if not always McD also sien la hor? :p

      Delete
    5. I actually do not like the surrounding of Baiyoke leh, like Chow Kit only, and then always got tourists bus bringing hundreds of tourists to go up to the top floors.. rather stay elsewhere..

yes, at first I also only know Samurai Burger, until I found out their BK burgers having option for either beef or pork patties, I love them so much and must eat during every Bangkok trip, haha!!

      Delete
    6. Hmm well, it's quite true, that area is a bit 杂, but then got nice shopping to do wo, cause Pratunam area, I stayed near there that time and I spent most of the times shopping at Pratunam area.

Ok, heard you, next time I go try BK!

    7. I have 2 lady friends running export business below Baiyoke Hotel and told me that building houses all the wholesalers for clothes and fabric merchants. No wonder that place is like Chow Kit area. I better go elsewhere to stay la.

So far my brother always checked me into poshy hotels along Sukhumvit Road like Sheraton Grande and Emporium Suites. I loved Emporium Suites as it is linked to the shopping mall and BTS station, so getting around Bangkok city is always a breeze!

  8. Woah ...you must have fall in love with the sawadee land! Yes, I remember you went there earlier this year for a business trip which you also extend your stay for your vacation! Well, I must said besides that dreadful bombing incident two months ago, Bangkok is really a nice place to hang out!

Yes, I am sure the attractions are always eating and shopping! There are so many nice Thai food there which we even patronise the Siam restaurants here and more so, the food are so much better there! And, stuffs are much cheaper there too, especially with the weakening RM, it's a good idea to go to Thailand, though I am sure you can afford other countries.

    1. i didn't choose to go but it's a business trip so i had to go, hahaha.. of course the Thai food are more authentic and nicer there, i would expect that.. anyway, we tried many Japanese food there and i have to say Japanese food in Thai are so much nicer than those we have here.. since you love Japanese food, during your next trip to Bangkok, try Japanese there!! :)

    2. Bangkok is one of the loveliest city in Asia to visit with cheap food and hotels besides a huge variety of good affordable shopping malls. That place suits all the young and old tourists too. There is so much entertainment too and no end of partying for everyone. When the Thais come to KL, I have no where to bring them to show off. They looked bored and pretended to enjoy here. Bwahahaha! Our food tastes funny to them too!

no Tom Yum burger in McD there but instead they have Hokkaido Salmon burger.. just like you won't see Sambal Belacan burger in McD in Malaysia but you will have Japanese Samurai Burger.. same principle~~ :p

  11. Yeah la, I agreed with some of the readers here that two days are too little! It's still a far place where you should have stayed longer. Like your last trip, you should have travel to nearby places like Hua Hin or go to Pattaya and so on, since you are already there.

Anyway, glad you had a good retreat as well as bought so many nice clothes!

This Kurage hardly travels anywhere, so each destination has to be a long long time, right? So far you went to Johor for vacation and that seem to be a rare occasion. Don't be so stingy dei, earning the Singapore dollars and go no where!

    6. I think all ladies would always stay at the Boutique Hotels around Pratunam area only because of that Platinum and ladies shopping havens. Guys won't like that area and they would opt for areas like Rama 1 @ Patumwan hub which is nearer to Siam Paragon, MBK, Jim Thompson and Central World. That was why Thambee and his gang went to the hotel opposite the National Stadium which is along the route of Rama 1 Road. I am not sure which hotel he stayed but my wild guess of a decent hotel with such a splendid close view like his photo made me guess it was Siam Design Hotel & Spa!!! That hotel is quite pricey but has fabulous view, roof top swimming pool and a BTS station right outside. My next trip, I will stay there too!
If my guess of the hotel is wrong, then it could be Holiday Inn where he stayed. Any prize?

Wah SK Thambee go Bangkok again ah..business is blooming lo..goody..hahaha...

Wei...you sure bagus leh. Go business meeting in Bangkok still have time to blog and update posts . Betul betul know how to work hard and play hard. 2 days business two days leisure. Go alone or with business partners? If alone very boring leh. Nobody to go makan and explore the place together. Can turn into big company trip lo.

  30. 19th floor. You selected or they give you ? Usually if in a hotel, i would like higher floors coz it will be less noisy than those at the lower floors.

A lovely view would be a bonus.

Wah right opposite the stadium...lucky chap. Can see if there are and matches being played there and yet minus the noise that comes with it

wei wei....manyak tak aci leh. In the photo there i spotted one brown bear with red ribbon. Hotel put there punya as ornaments or you bring punya ah? Mana fing Fing? Left him home alone ka? Nanti you sampai rumah, your house tunggang terbalik by Fing Fing lor coz left him. Tarak bring him along. Some more who is that brown interloper?

uiks ...how come the view of the stadium can be from the front and the side punya too leh. Revolving room ka like the federal hotel punya dining room. Tak mungkin kot? The hotel must be very big lo coz can see the stadium from at least two angle.

    1. the receptionist gave us 19th floor, I think because the Middle Eastern lady was making a fuss there before us, he segan we waited very long to check in, so gave us high floors kot?? the stadiums are different stadiums leh, there are one aqua stadium, one mini stadium and two olympic stadiums on the same row, can view all from my room leh.. macam our Bukit Jalil lah it's a stadium complex.. but too bad no events that time else can watch free matches.. :p

    2. From my understanding through hotelier friends, they would randomly give out vacant higher floors to all guests. They fill the rooms from the top floors downwards but you will be surprised that many undisclosed guests have phobia for high floors and would request for lower levels. They don;t mind the noise as they think they would safely reach the road level ahead should there be a fire or disaster! One aunty who has this height problem told me that she could not sleep well at night on high floors and dared not look out of the windows too. Worst of all, she always felt the floor was swaying or moving in her mind. That must be something to do with the gravity that triggers nonsensical thoughts on these terrified patients.

I always enjoyed staying at mid floors that overlooked the whole ocean! Those were priceless and rare opportunities!

  31. Asian country is like that la. Makan makan and more makan. Chinese say the ability to eat is a "fook"(lucky)

Am surprised that you ate more Japanese food over there instead of local flavour. I don;t recognise much of any of the food there la. Only see is the fried chicken wings and fried something something (bottom left). The Top left looks like something like scallop with a bunch of tomatoes and peas wor. LOL...Mata rabun liao.

aiyak..that right side punya photo looks like ngum me leh...that piece of meat...like pork? got noodles too? adui...hungry leh...not yet lunch ....or rather had late breakfast just now.

So what's the verdict of Japanese food over there? Is like like Malaysian "Japanese" food which have been "modify" to suit local taste? Hopefully not la.

Price wise how ya? Maybe cheaper than Malaysia since they do not have GST LOL

So after makan tummy full liao then go shopping pulak la. LOL...or lazy to walk...just go dreamland. Hmmm or since you so gungho about excercise...maybe you end up utilising the gym at the hotel.

yes woh, I actually spend some time in the hotel gym, how did you know?? haha~~

    2. It never occurred to me to eat Japanese food in Thailand. All my whole life visiting Thailand, it was so stereotyped that I had to hunt for the yummiest and spiciest Thai cuisine to eat. Next time, I must try eating Chinese, Indian and even Korean food in Bangkok to make comparisons since we know their Thai food there are excellent.
Now I recall I have this Thai actress niece who opened a posh Japanese restaurant with her cousins and I had never stepped foot inside. I must check it out on my next trip.

So syok la....McD is just below the hotel ....no need to go far if suddenly hungry. Call room service sure pricey leh. If the McD have 24 hours open business then it is better.

Anyway, the McD got Happy Meal there ka? I wonder what gift they are giving out. Now over here is giving out the small books. Last time i went and bought coz it's the Magic School Bus book mah but the kinda dissappointed coz the book very small and thin only.

LOL....Meiji. I recall last round you also got mentioned about this. was it one of Fing Fing's favourite drink ah? Borong berapa ribu bottle? kihkihkih

    2. I am actually very curious which Bangkok hotel has a McD right below their building. That would be so convenient and time saving for all the meals from breakfasts to dinner till supper! When I stayed at hotels close to a Starbucks, I was already over the moon! It was so easy to get free wi-fi overseas!

    2. This SK no need to wait for CNY to shop all his diva clothing! He is so well dressed the whole year as if Chinese New Year was tomorrow.
These days the dressing trend to meet clients have changed where formality is out and the smart casuals are "in". I am sure the whole wardrobe of SK is all smart casual attires.
