About Shipment Tracking
Online Shipment Tracking

i guess it is not wrong to say that we are all very used to purchasing things online and getting them delivered right to our doorsteps huh?? frankly, i actually shop online more than i shop in malls nowadays, until my friends tease and say i am a "Baobao King" now, haha!! and you know well, after you have made payment, you will be able to track the status of your purchase and trace where the shipment is at that time..

the "normal" way would be stay relaxed and wait patiently for the stuffs to be delivered, or only check the status if it is taking too long.. but, i do not know why but i think i tend to get over-anxious about my shipments most of the time, to the extent that i can't help to check the status of the purchase and shipment everyday or even several times a day.. so this is just me, not only i am kan cheong about things delivered to me, i am also very kan cheong about things that i sent out to friends, only to feel relieved when friends confirmed receiving the stuffs.. guess this is some unnecessary pressures i give to myself, because if it is going to be delivered, it will be delivered, unless something went wrong which is probably unlikely.. blame it on the convenience of cloud data, haha!! :p

    1. Not showing off new toy, my mistake again. SK is talking about being Online Shopping king today.

I love online shopping too, but I bought clothes most of the time from Mango.com

    2. SK, what you described here is pretty normal. I feel the same way too. It is normal to get anxious when we purchase online. Because we have paid, but we haven't got the things that we paid on hand for immediately. So this is the cons of buying online. Unlike we buy in the mall, we got the things immediately we paid.So we no need to get anxious for a period of time.

There is always pros and cons of shopping online.
I also check the delivery status several times a day, especially those items that I long for.

    3. Besides, it is a courtesy to tell the sender upon receiving the shipment of items. I will remember to inform the sender who sends things to me. I wish others will do the same if I send something to others.

I love shopping online too, but only limit to certain reliable websites.I am still cautious when shopping online. The first purchase is important. Some websites provide easy and fast tracking of the shipment, some websites will send email alert on every status to update the customer, some websites do provide good service and fast delivery. Thus, I will consider these type of websites for subsequent orders. Otherwise, i would just stop at my first purchase. I seriously hate those websites, which taking too long to update the status of the delivery, and making the customer waiting for too long. I will ban these type of online purchase website. I do not like to write email to check with them the delivery, the website should provide the service to update the customer on the delivery.

    4. I have bad experience from one of my online purchases. I bought a few clothes from Kotten On, so cilaka, upon receiving the items, I need to pay extra 50% of what I have paid as the custom tax. So, I swear to myself that I forever not buying from this Kotten On anymore.

    5. Some websites are providing refund and return service, I like. There was one time I bought my skincare of Acne.org from Amazon.com. I complain for not receiving the items on time, they sent me the products again and the original products reached me at the end. I thought of making extra payment to them for the double items that i received, but they said no need. I super like.

    6. yalor, i get very kan cheong about my stuffs purchased online.. now with smartphones we can really check the status anytime anywhere, and so it's like "yierrr, how come still processing one?? aiyoh, how come so slow?? when can be delivered to me ah??".. hahahaha!!

    7. When I was in Tokyo, I met some Japanese friends and they are all online shoppers for almost everything from paying bills, ordering stuffs until buying most groceries and meals! That's how scary this big city folks have reached the level where they welcome all the convenience made online. As for me, I like to shop online mainly for my wife's clothes as they give me the freedom to slowly pick and buy at very cheap prices. The delivery to my doorstep also made it easier for me.

If I had gone to the ladies boutiques to buy, I could not imagine how the dress could suit my wife well. As for online, the real photos of their models wearing the actual dresses could help me greatly to decide which one suits my wife well. Until today, I have no regrets and never bought any mistakes. So far, I never used my smartphone to order online as I have doubts on my phone's reliability.

  2. Same same! Though I don't buy online as often as the Baobao King (hah..hah...), I also tend to track everyday. Because I worry mah. Already pay money, I must find assurance that my goods are on the way. Same with sending courier to family, scared they did not receive or the Pos Lambat mess me up hah..hah...

    1. Come to think of it, these modern day conveniences do end up giving us more stress when in actual fact, it is supposed to make our lives easier. But then again we are the ones stressing ourselves up by being so kan cheong hah..hah...hah...

    2. frankly, i actually never thought about things like "i paid money already" but rather "can't wait to get my things to come back to me", haha.. because if the things are lost we can always complain and get money refunded, it's more like too excited about getting new stuffs to me :D

  3. If you really Baobao King, then surely you sapu some goodies yesterday sempena 11/11. Looking forward to reading about your loot XD ...

I am same like you. The moment I got the tracking number, I will "follow up" closely until the thing is delivered, regardless of whether I am the sender or recipient. Couriers also not that reliable to be honest. I've used 5 different courier companies before, all 5 have given me heartbreaks before (long delay, item sent back without delivering to me, item went to wrong state, etc) >.<

    1. actually no leh, i didn't because the 11.11 also like no big discounts lah.. just bought little bit and realised the delivery took longer than usual, so after this first try, i will avoid the 11.11 and 12.12 period lu..

  4. I've done online shopping from personal seller from FB and blogs, online shops, Groupon and Lazada. Most of the time, no problems on the delivery, except for one order from Groupon 2 weeks ago.. It took 4 weeks to arrive, and the website did not mention the items was "pre-order". I kept tracking Poslaju, and was pissed the status was the same for a few days, and belum sampai KLIA pun.. But in the end, issue solved and items delivered to me - 4 weeks later.. Usually, items delivered after a few days..

    ReplyDelete

    1. It depends actually.. If it's from Groupon and online shops (I've bought many times already), tracking number or no, I very relax already, no check.. Unless the items not yet reach me after 1 week, then I will kan cheong and check back my email, look for the tracking and track in internet..

But if it's from Lazada, I will track, coz first time buying from Lazada last week.. And you know what, Lazada very good, I got my items just after 2 days, and they update very accurately in the website.. I even received sms telling me item has been shipped.. True enough, next day, I got it already..

      Delete
    2. Poslaju sometimes good sometimes no.. The one from Groupon which didnt arrive after 1 month was using Poslaju.. But other stuff from other people and online shops, Poslaju ok wor..

Psstt, I ordered something from Wenn just this week, our pretty leng-leng sitaupoh blogger, and it arrived me exactly what she said.. She posted out on Friday, and it reached me on Monday already! Very efficient..

      Delete
    3. So leh, actually depends pun la.. If got tracking number jor, ma track lor, if got time la.. If no time or not convenient, and you trust the online shop, no need track, as I'm confident the items will arrive me very soon.. UNLESS the item is very very expensive, then I'll track..

      Delete
    4. i would actually expect a tracking number to be given lor, it's like an assurance to the customer that the items has been shipped mah.. so far Rasada didn't give me problems lah *touch wood* but the Sarora leh, once the barang dunno go where they also cannot trace, i've sent in many complaints and finally after a week, suddenly delivered to me.. since then i never buy from them anymore lor.. Baobao is way better, and most importantly cheaper - same stuffs half the price..

    1. hehe, and sometimes get very "bik chek" if the delivery takes too long right?? :D

  7. I made several transactions online and let the items be shipped to be via courier but I really prefer shopping items to malls than making them online.. and I got reasons for it
First, there were moments that you do not get what you see... some are displaying items online that looks way too different in reality.. so I really don't set expectations when ordering items online because i might get disappointed
Second, with my country's current issues regarding with the packages (many reports about missing items), i don't think it's entirely safe to order items online at this moment
Third: when buying clothes, it's hard to tell what is your exact size... you might get an item that is too short or too big for your size hehe

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, have to be careful on what we actually buy online.. i would usually not get branded and expensive items to reduce the risk of fakes and missing items.. anyway, if the items are missing, it is the responsibility of the seller as being the buyer, we can always file a complaint and get the money back.. as for sizes, they do offer free exchange, we just need to post back the items and get the right size sent to us again - no charges at all..

    1. very true, because we trusted them and made the payment first.. hence the expectation right?? it's not like we are given 30 days credit terms after goods received, hehe~~

  11. Blame it on the status tracking system which is readily available for us to track our shipment! LOL ... Well, it's very typical of being humans, to 'kay poh' or curious to find out where's the shipment is at a particular moment. And, the job made easier as we can track anytime with our mobile phones. Anytime, anywhere and whenever we like.

I remember I just place an order for a phone cover and I started tracking hours later. I know it wouldn't be ready so fast but somehow there's this temptation to login to the site and see the status. And, we do this almost most of the time until the goods delivered. It's just itchy fingers, whenever I am free, I will go in to check and sometimes, will also get a false alarm too. For example, the status suddenly change and said it is ready for delivery. In actual fact, it is ready to be deliver for shipment at another country, which means it still haven't leave its base yet. And, we get frustated when we see this status and the goods not delivered yet after 2 or 3 days which is actually a false alarm. From there, we start calling or emailing the service provider for clarifications...hahaha..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hahaha, so this is actually not abnormal lah i would say?? many people will check the status frequently to make sure everything's on track.. because we paid already woh, so there's an expectation..

      Delete
  12. Yeah, I can see that you like to do online shopping. In fact, there's nothing wrong with it as long as you shop with reliable sites, not sites where they give you an apple for an Iphone...hahaha... I also slowly go into online shopping as I find the stuffs there are always cheaper than those in retail. Even most of my colleagues started buying online after they have do their research. And, those products displayed on the shelves of the shops are more for research, to see how it feels and looks like in physical. if you like it, Ok, login to the online site and place ordered.

Anyway, besides all those scams and cheating, I actually don't have the patience for the goods to be delivered in 3 to 2 weeks times, depending on the supplier. Buying from the malls means you can get the products straight away, but pay a few dollars more. It really depends la... Sometimes, I don't mind paying more to get a product immediately but I will get mock by my colleagues, for being too impatience and wasting money, compare to online. hahaha..

    1. convenient and more choices and most importantly a lot cheaper than getting them from retail shops.. but now with our plunging currency, it may not necessary be cheaper to get from Baobao already, so still have to shop wisely..

  13. I have only used the local pl to send out things to commenters and yes I also check on the status regularly so you are not the only one that is giving unnecessary pressure to yourself, my siblings and spouse also does this when buying from the tbao or lzd or zlr. I think people with high blood pressure cannot buy online else it will be a danger to their health if they are overly kancheong over following up on the tracking.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hahaha, people with high blood pressure cannot buy things online?? can lah, provided that they go easy peasy after the payment and don't go kan cheong about delivery, hahaha~~

      Delete
  14. Yeah, the best way is to stay relax and patience after placing your orders. if they estimated to delivered within 4 days, then checked only after 4 days and probably drop them an email on why it is later than schedule. No point worrying and checking the status all the time which actually a waste of time and frustrate us. (It will be real frustrating if the status remains the same after 2 days...muahahahahha).

I don't think we worry about our money or whether we got cheated as eventually thw goods will reached us. The problem is their logistics and workflow on how they shipped the goods to us, as well as stocks availability. Of course, I don't we will placed an order online if the goods to be bought is very expensive, maybe coming to four figure. If that's the case, we might get a good discounts from the retailers outside, I'm sure.

    ReplyDelete

    1. now i try to be more patient because i roughly know the timeframe for the delivery, so i try to prohibit myself to check the status that often.. or even if i checked, i will tell myself that it is in the normal process and be patient it will arrive soon.. control your EQ please SK~~ :D

  15. I guess online shopping is an emerging trend now and that's also why big malls also setup their own websites for folks to shop online. It's not a bad idea as online shopping help folks to shop at a lower cost, save their time especially those who are time constraint, no need to go out for those who don't have transport and also for those who lazy to go to the malls.

  18. So now Thambee has got a new nickname like Baobao King which sounds better than mine. Wifey calls me Shopping Queen!! I have slowed down a bit on shopping online as I bought too much clothes for Letchumy until she had no time to wear them all.

I must share an incident where I bought her a dress online which happened to cost less than RM30. There was a boutique outside selling at RM80 and put their own brand label. I should run a boutique too and put TM brand.

    1. oh my, how could Letchumy gave you such an unglamorous nickname when you were only buying stuffs for her.. yes, indeed online shops offer more competitive price than retail shops.. and i have to say, many things on Baobao is so much cheaper compared to the same stuffs sold over here..

  19. I went to see your favourite Baobao site twice and surrender with white flag! They sell too many items and I had no idea what some items were all about. The China folks have the highest population and definitely use more items than the whole world.

    1. well, it can be rather complicated for newbies, that was actually what i've been through.. but after the first purchase, one can easily cope with the flow.. but too bad, Anay cannot read Chinese, that's the problem you could not enjoy Baobao..

  20. I don't do much online shopping. Even if I did, I trust it to reach me safely. Unless it has been taking way too long, I will call the office. But when I send stuff to others, I might check the status if it's very important.

    1. Once I checked and the status showed that it had been delivered. But to my amazement, no one admitted that it had been signed and accepted. So I had to send again but to a different address. Finally, the lost document was found somewhere in the college itself. How inconvenient when the document is urgent.

      Delete
    2. yeah, when we agreed to make the payment we were actually entering into the agreement and we trust the seller to process orders and ship the items bought to us.. the seller and shipper has to bear full responsibility until the items are delivered to the recipients..

    2. Wow Merryn you are really 'unique'! Haha, I mean nowadays most people shop online wo! Even aunties uncles also follow the trend already.
But of course you got a point, 'physical shopping' has its pros compared to online shopping, at least we can touch/feel and even try on the products before buying so that we won't waste our money!

But I have to say online shopping has created so much convenience too! Like save time/petrol, in some case even save some money cause there are too many competitive already, so sometimes some merchants will offer better price.
Of course for me, not everything I buy online. Like shoes, household items, I don't dare to buy online. The rest like clothes, accessories, decorative items still ok, at least not that 'risky' la!

      Delete
  25. Oh I know that feeling!
Actually for me also same. If I order something, I will be very kan cheong for it to arrive, I don't like waiting too long. To me, goods must arrive within 2 working days, unless if that's not ready stock la! I don't know why but I very sam kap one, so I seldom order pre-order items. Cause usually pre-order items take 2-3 weeks to arrive, I sure tak sabar sabar one lo. After like 10 days I will go and ask the supplier one, haha!

And when I receive a tracking number, I will go check the status regularly, like you! Especially if that item is something I love so much.

And same thing when I send goods to my customer/friend, I will fast fast go deliver them, give them the tracking number and inform them must notify me when they receive the goods. But sometimes they don't do that, so I will take the initiative to ask them see whether they receive or not.
When they receive and everything is in good condition, then only I 'close case', haha! xD

  27. Good afternoon SK

Uiks...i missed out this post ah LOL....

Hello BaoBao King. That is a now nickname. I wonder if it would stick or not like the nickname Ah Boy.

Yea...have done online purchasing before. And yes, the waiting is tormenting enough.

Initially am very scared to use online purchase or online payment coz heard of so many horror store about being cheated and personal data being stolen due to online shopping. Now still kinda scared la. But not as bad as last time. But still will seek friends advices before dare to shop online in any website to see hether it is trust worthy or not.

If they cheating in terms of never send goods or inferior goods , am not so worried. Most worisome is the credit cards or banking information being stolen. Some said if see website beginning with "https" then it's secure but for me how secure is secured ah? Am not technology savy leh. So many things out there that I don't know about. Some say even with Https still people can steal data.

I don't do much of online shopping la but so far those that I went too quite good la. Like photobook or pixajoy, after making payment they will send email tell me and update me on each of the steps they are working on now...for example printing the photos, Quality control checking, sending out...and last they will send the tracking number.

Bought once or twice before from lelong.com. There was one vendor that tarak update status. Hmmm....was kinda anxious back then but luckily the stuffs arrived la

Hahaha yes,,,, by right is after clicking payment ., just sit back and wait for the barang to arrive...and only check if the barang took too long to arrive.

You are not alone in this la.

Me sometimes also like this...but it depends la on what barang. Like if photobook i would kept checking coz sometimes when the go for printing there is chances of it being rejected and i need to upload again to ensure printing. However, that only happened once la.

usually if the terms stated 3-5 days delivery...i would wait till 3rd day and start checking the status. See if the barang have been sent out or not. If sent out then i will try and stay home so that can receive the stuffs la.Troublesome to have to call the courier company arrange for a second delivery.

As for being anxious about stuffs sent out ah? Me not really lor. After sending out th stuffs, i would forward the tracking number to friend so that friend can o it and also ask friend to update me if tarak receive.

Unless the parcel is to be a surprise la. Then will keep on checking the status lor...then at the same time if see hat the status is "out for delivery" then i would hint hint to friend to stay put at home or office lo.
