Succinctly, The Sex and The Sexes
Sex and The Sexes

i just learned a few bombastic (to me) words a while ago, and i thought instead of being circumlocutory for the sake of having a post, i will have this post today succinct..

as per the title of today's post:
  • why are female cleaners allowed in a gents toilet but not a male cleaner in a ladies toilet??
  • why are there only ladies-only train coaches yet ladies can get into any coach freely?? why aren't there gentlemen-only train coaches where ladies are prohibited to enter??

66 comments:

  1. Very interesting, because female toilet sometimes got the period thing, the red thing, not everyone willing to clean that, so female "stuffs" so female clean!!

For the train one, I'm so super like they've this facility, maybe trying to avoid 色魔?

    1. Don't know is it because I'm female I really think that female should be have more benefit, despite the 男女平等 case!! First guys don't have the every month "pain" which guys would never ever understand!! Just like maybe that one day a female was having period cramps, tak kan she say it out loud telling the guys to let her sit, right?? She the female only can tahan which only herself know the pain only. If really want to compare buy using guy stomach pain, that one is totally different story, that stomach pain bangsai can settle, but the period cramps ya, bangsai also can't settle!! Based on my experience, so difficult to really ask a "gentlemen-only" to give seat to the female willingly...only, only maybe maybe maybe the ladies is a pretty lady like angel face and sexy body. then only guys will thinking of 讨好 her then only desperately to give seat to her!! On the other way round, how about the lady is an aunty or a sim, really got this kind of 优待 meh!! Some I see ya, even pregnant woman they also don't care to give seat to them (seriously?) So is good to have only ladies train!! Talking about 色魔, not sure got this case or not la, but usually happen in girls, like the whole train is so full of people, 少不了会碰撞到一下, but then some guys will take this opportunity to 摸摸下, then went turn around the person gone, see le!!!

    2. Female prohibited to enter, then also can't lo!! Then it's gonna give limitation to female liao!! Maybe if really want a guys only coach, then they should make one for lady, one for guy and one for mix!! The train full of guys one...(then will let people say you went to the gay train, serious got this kind of people saying this silly thing) The mix one is for those couple couple, tak kan you ask them to take separately, then they will be 难离难舍, then forever won't get into the train!!

But a train coach that prohibited woman, that actually also can one, but very weird lo.....since don't have this kind of history before, don't know this really happened, then one day a female accidentally went in to the guy coach train, then what would happen ya???

      Delete
    3. A male cleaner in a ladies toilet.....this one ya!! Some malay ladies will take off their tudung inside the female toilet to adjust it then put it back nicely, so......ya!!

If the male cleaner is 心水不正, 这样不是被看完......usually those female cleaner is aunty aunty, if you say that to the aunty, the aunty will say I've so many kids at home, see from young already, see until I also don't want to see, why am I bother!! And also they don't mind see la!! But paiseh for the guys, the aunty should wait until no males in the toilet then only enter to clean the toilet!!

    4. Ya, I agree with Sheta, if got a only guys train, sure people will say yang bukan bukan.

      Delete
    5. Hahaha!! That's very obvious and actually I think if got this kind of coach the guy will go to the mix one more, because then can see pretty girl instead mah!! Hehehe!!! Thinking from guys point of view, not sure is correct or not!!!

  3. Aiya .. ladies always given the priority first because they are the fairer sex. Ok la... like that less molesting incidents in the trains. If they are with their male friends ,then it's ok for them to join in the general coach.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Anyway , the laws here always give advantage to the ladies. If a lady said you sexually assaulted her even if you didn't , you will still kena interrogated enough enough by the police. Sometimes I came across these news in SG.

  5. Back to the toilet cleaners , some aunties do knock or yell if someone is inside the male toilets before they entered. So,not all aunties are hum sup... heheh

  8. Good morning bloggers. Today’s topic interesting wor.. Errr I don’t even know the word succinct.. My English very poor one la.. At least I dare to admit, heh..

    1. Ei, what you say makes sense la.. Like female-only parking.. Canggih hor.. Eh, kong hoi yau kong, there was one time, I bentahan my “business”, I rushed to the gent’s leh.. You see, our office washroom hor, have to walk outside one la.. Located at the back.. So ahh, we have to open the back door and go to the back one wor.. Ladies toilet further away.. Gent’s nearer.. So ahh, there was one time I just rushed in, but that time, nobody la.. I bet if there were somebody, they wouldn’t be so “tai keng siew kuai” as we ladies kua..

      Delete
    2. Errr, call me prejudice la, if I see a male cleaner in a ladies toilet, I would also feel scared wor.. Don’t ask me why, I am sure everyone also will feel the same kua.. Office toilet, no so scared maybe.. But public toilets especially during midnite, how?

      Delete
    3. Second question, ladies only coach.. Hmm, call me jakun, never seen one before, never ride on one before too.. If you say ladies parking ok la, this one I know..

      Delete
    4. Yah lo, actually I want to say that also, don't know why the guys one is nearer but the female one so inside, if anything happened maybe also no one can help, don't know why design it one!! =[

    5. Princess Ribbon, true, I guess it's normal to feel scare and shock if we see male cleaner in the ladies toilet, we never know what will happen right?

  9. good morning SK.

Aiya...big words ah...cham ....I have to google jor what is the meaning of Circumlocutory. Errr adik-beradik to lavatory or circumcision ? Why la early morning wanna play big word. Pengsan aku leh...ni force me Learn A Word A Post ni.

    1. Me too, thanks to Sir Koh, today I learned 2 new English words - Circumlocutory and Succinct. Well, I googled these 2 words too.

  10. The first question ah? who says no male cleaners in ladies toilet? You observed meh?

1)Got la. I kena a few times got male cleaner in female toilet. Or maybe tak kira as cleaner la. They go in and take out the rubbish.

But like kesian them also la. Female toilet sometimes got those thing that is adik-beradik to iPad...they have to take pulak the rubbish.

    2) Probably many shopping mall or complexes doesn't allow male cleaner coz might get sexual harassment case.

    3) I might be prejudice la but maybe the job not "man" enough. Male would refused to clean female toilet and even male toilet

    4) aiyer.....just separate sexes to clean toilet enough la. Ladies clean ladies and male clean male toilet. the risk of sexual harassment case wil be lower and also it is better in terms of religion wise.

    ReplyDelete
  11. If by right la.....better for female cleaner not to clean male toilet. Very tarak syok leh. Just imagine cleaner cleaning the toilet then you go in...that would be the case of "To pee or not to pee" How?

Usually the cleaners would put a sign outside the toilet says Cleaning in Progress but stuill people will go in. many will ignore the sign and just go in, So to have opposite sex cleaning the toilet is like tarak syok la. If same sex also not very comfortable liao eventhough "what you have, I have also. Nothing to shout about" but still......

    ReplyDelete
  12. The second question....hmm....susah to say...

one factor is due to religion la.

another one is sexual harassment. More case of ladies being harass/molested in train/bus being reported than male being harass/molested mah.

But i see in the train eventhough female coach ...but still have male inside leh.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Good Morning Bloggers! I am so glad someone has highlighted this tactless toilet privacy by shopping malls. Many people have long complained about the cleaners and some really took actions.

    2. I think the most irking toilet cleaners are in J-Aeon where the few makciks would be chatting inside the men's toilets sambil cuci while men busy spraying! Adoi.... tiba-tiba they giggled & laughed and I would panic till wet my pants. In the end, I always reminded myself to get inside the cubicle and shut the doors! Safe & sound.

      Delete
    3. Anay TM, you better shut yourself inside the cubicle and pancut enjoyability. Otherwise, all those makciks will get sex-cited and stare at at you and your dearie. Adoi! Later they wet their pants and not your pants.

  14. Wild guess.. because guys have a 'destructive' inflatable weapon with them or should I say on them. Oops!

  15. The answer to your question is simply because the ladies need to be protected from predatory males. The toilet for example is a place where one can be very vulnerable. And if you have a male cleaner who is sick in the mind, he may harm a female especially when she is alone. Same situation in train coaches or even buses where some female passengers have had their modesty invaded. No offence to the men. Most of you are good honourable people but the bad apples really spoil the show.

    ReplyDelete
  16. As for the opposite situation, why are female cleaners allowed in the gents? Well, it is very rare for a female to go all predatory on a male in public places, secluded or not. Even if there was such a sick woman, a man would have the physical strength to fend her off. No, I'm not saying that a woman is not capable of fighting off a male attacker. I am just saying in general.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Traditionally, we girls are supposed to be modest and shy away from the men. So can you imagine how awkward it will be to have male cleaners in the ladies toilet? Of course in today's terms I know of the younger generation who are very open and modesty is an alien word to them. But seeing that we aunties are still roaming the earth, let's keep things as they are, no male cleaners in the ladies toilets.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This is not to say that the men are totally comfortable with female presence when they are doing their "business". Having female cleaners is just because it so happens that the cleaning company does not have or does not have enough male cleaners. It would be ideal if the men's toilets is cleaned by male cleaners to lessen the discomfort, if any.

      Delete
  18. Cos with the crime rate of rapists on the prowl, any men in the female's toilet will be an outcry.. and do not forget, this is Malaysia... Ma lai si ar... so better don't play play... hahaha...
Anyway, tell you a secret... I have accidentally entered a male's toilet before at the airport... and I didn't know till I heard male voices outside the toilet I was in...and I began to say to myself.."cham cham... sei lo!" Then what I did... ok, that will be the second part... coming soon.. hahahaa...

    1. Aiyo Claire ni, keep us suspend... So where's part 2?!

Erm as far as I can recall, I never accidentally enter a male's toilet before. But I did encounter a male entering the female's toilet! I don't know if he was drunk or blurred by the sign, luckily he was already out of the toilet and got his pants on already. I was shocked when I see him, and I double check if I enter the wrong toilet... That time just me and him only, scary!

  19. Talking about this topic, interesting. It is never equally fair for male and female one. Because male is more cincai type, female is more fussy. I remember I read from somewhere.

There is song sang by陶晶莹, song title is 姐姐妹妹站起来, lyric has something like this 曲十个男人七个傻八个呆九个坏. I like this song very much. Let me continue tomorrow on this topic. Need to go home now.

    1. When this song is sang and become popular, all guys have no comment at all, imagine if this song is sang in this way 十个女人七个傻八个呆九个坏.The singer will get boycott by all women. So, women is a more sensitive creature when compare to men. Women is more emotional, men is more rational. Therefore there is always inequality between male and female.

    2. Besides, my uni pool has special day for women. I remember it is Wednesday, women swimming day. That day the pool is closed for male. There is no men swimming day, you know? When going into the pool, male has no complained to swim together with female. On women swimming day, female cannot accept a single male in the pool. Hehehehe! Yannie only went to male and female campur swimming day .

    3. Yannie, that song, so old school!! Last time when we go KTV, sure will sing this song, cause everyone also knows how to sing, it's easy!
I agree, that's the biggest difference between male and female, male is more rational, female is more emotional, it's a norm, drama also got shows :p

Women swimming day? Hmm, interesting, that also reminds me of those pubs' ladies night, where all the ladies get a special privilege ;)

  21. I also ever seen male cleaners in female toilets in Singapore macdonalds

    ReplyDelete
  22. There are not many male toilet cleaners. Normally the ladies are the ones who are willing to wash the toilets. So it has become a norm.

I haven't tried ladies coaches before. Maybe ladies feel safer with their own kind. But I see no harm even if there are men around in the same coach.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thank you for being English teacher today. I also dunno this circumlocutory word. Now I know - it means hou sui do gor char, just like me, can never be succinct like you here.

Well, I have seen male cleaners in women toilets and there is a sign that says our cleaners are male so please be aware. I think if you can give a good reason why there should be a men only train coach, then there can be one. I don't think there are any good reasons for men only coaches lah since men are in general bigger size so if men only coaches, then sure the train will be only able to fit fewer passengers just like you fill a glass with big stones, all those spaces in between don't have little stones to fill in so you get less stones in a glass.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Me too no idea what is circumlocutory, anyway thanks SK for sharing it.

I've seen such sign before, ask us to be aware, at least they put up the sign to 'warn' the female. So we can decide to go in or not, or find other toilet. Imagine if there's no sign and when we walk in we see a male cleaner inside, sure shock and feel insecure!

  24. So the results of the survey is out. Too bad only 50% can make it although everyone thinks it is a good idea. Maybe 50% is busy cleaning their houses for CNY so could not make it in Feb. So just stay commenting here for the time being lah.

Anyway, may be don't need to have a grand gathering la, small small one will do, whoever can make it just attend, no forcing one.

I always say that to my friends, if want everyone to attend is kinda hard la since everyone is busy with own things, so just go ahead and set a date and time, whoever can make it then come =)

  27. there is male cleaner in ladies toilet, but again this is Malaysia, u know la, the practice here...
Well if compared in Arabic country, women only allowed to go out public with a close male companion (either the guy is her husband or father/brother with blood relation). Now u get to see the different treatment/double standard in gender treatment.
All these are generally 'rules' set up by certain authority in their respective country which they sees as would help in preventing crime & creating a harmonious living.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Different country/religion different rules... I think in Malaysia consider boleh tahan kok.... Anyway, as a woman, we really must be extra alert and careful.
Those crimes mostly (if not always) target on woman one, all this while also same, never change.

  28. because men are more hamsap than women!

That's why women can roam freely and not men! lol

    1. Haha I somehow agree, men are indeed more hamsap than women, and they show it directly on their face (through their eyes)! Here's a recent story to share:
I was tapao-ing one day and I saw a table of uncles kept staring at me, yala I was wearing sleeveless and shorts and my belly is showing, but so what? Haven't seen a pregnant woman before?? Seriously I felt so irritated! Like kena 'molest by eyes' like that, ish ish!!

      Delete
  29. And I believe the measures are done in view of the "weaker" gender's safety.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hmm, circumlocutory, succinct, totally no idea what it means, or how it's being pronounced, LOL!

First question, I guess that's because female makes a better cleaner than male? Haha! I mean normally woman can clean better la.
Erm if a male cleaner is allowed in the ladies toilet, sure we the lady feel insecure, cause when we are inside the toilet, we will never know what the male cleaner will do, and if anything happens, who can rescue us?
But if a female cleaner is allowed in the gents toilet, that's not that bad, cause what can a female do to the gents in the toilet? This is like a common sense la...
Second question, got such thing as ladies-only train? I don't know wo! But I think that's sure mainly to protect the ladies la, cause all are ladies, we will be less exposed to harms and dangers.

Anyway, I think we the women are more prone to danger and are more vulnerable compared to men, that's why we got some extra privileges throughout the whole word. You see those abuse case, rape case, mostly woman is the victim, and I once read an article before, why woman cry more often than man? I know this might not be directly related to your post today but I think got some connections. Woman cry more often and easily because we are 'made' to endure more pains since birth, pain as in physical and mental. So I think that's why many things in the world these days, are made to cater more for woman. 女人就是比较脆弱和比较需要受保护,还有也有权利去享受更多不一样的特权。

Although these days, man and woman are said to be like 平起平坐,男女平等等等。。。 But don't you think in certain sense, woman are still more vulnerable?

May be next life you wanna become a woman? :p
