That's the price I had to pay for joining the hectic and screwed up tour! I was so cheapo and chose the cheapest tour for my honeymoon! I only paid RM1388 for 9 days tour to Beijing, Tianjin and Chengde which was flown by Singapore Airlines!!! It was such an eye opener trip for me to see weird Malaysian tourists and China folks. Those days they were still spitting everywhere like rain in 2002. The toilets were more filthy and ridiculous of course!Twilight Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04574109866770324683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23963594.post-85761230030108482752013-08-21T17:54:07.751+08:002013-08-21T17:54:07.751+08:00Photo N: The long corridors were so long and tirin...Photo N: The long corridors were so long and tiring for me to walk that day. I remember that it was so hot and crowded on the Summer day. I spent time looking at the ceiling designs of the corridor and snapped photos. Years later I traced the designs to make patterns for the Chinese Tea House in my old office.Twilight Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04574109866770324683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23963594.post-59393858902462850432013-08-21T17:51:52.472+08:002013-08-21T17:51:52.472+08:00Photo M: I like the way the great Philosopher Xunz...Photo M: I like the way the great Philosopher Xunzi described about the ships and people! I was thinking that it must have been tough for the short ancient soldiers to run across when their warlords ordered them to battle and shoot down the enemies below. How did they climb so fast and easily with short legs??? Maybe the old soldiers were tall but I have seen the actual sizes of Terracota Warriors in Xian who were shorter than Anay. Well, again it was used by so many product manufacturers and it sort of etched into my brains. I grew up thinking of it and when I got married, I decided to see the real building.

I wanted to cry my heart out when I stood outside this magnificent building that was built without nails. So awesome!!!!

Did you go beneath to see the tunnel where the animals marched to the kitchen to be slaughtered as offerings?? So scary and sad place actually when you go beneath. The best thing is that the architecture was well preserved till now. I bet it has something to do with the 4 seasons climate that helped to preserve the woods. From my travels across Asia, I noticed that old buildings in Tropical countries became decayed easily due to the acid rains and high humidity which also encouraged termites to breed! In China, all the termites and kutus will die in Winter!
